I went seriously overboard on Sat night. Turned out one of Antag's friends was in the same town we were visiting (he was there for a conference and we were working on wedding stuff) so we went out with him and ended up at a bar. 4 beers and pizza severly screwed up my WW plans for the weekend. But I am back on track now even if I do have to eat out all week. We went to the grocery store last night and I will be eating fruit and instant oatmeal for breakfast each day (only thing I can make with only a coffee pot). 27 points is not a lot of points.

good luck with that hotel room cuisine! do they have a microwave anywhere? (lobby, etc?). I stayed at a hotel once and they brought a microwave and a little fridge to my room!

I'd love to get 27 points. It would mean I'd lost a lot of weight. :)

i just spent most of nap time googling weight gain and mirena and am quite shocked at all the posts online about the Mirena. Any of you other gals with the Mirena may want to look into it.  :sigh:

Well I am still a good 40+ from my goal.  :d

And it is next to impossible to eat out on it. Good luck finding anything in a restaurant that will fill you up for under 12 points.

I got the mirena because I was convinced that pills contributed to my weight gain. Then I went off BC completely and nothing changed so I got the mirena. I honestly don't know...there is a lot of stories out there but not a lot of real data.

You could try the copper IUD though.

Oh, I know - restaurants are tough - see what I posted a few days ago about Olive Garden. I'm well over 40 pounds to goal, though. Well over. It's gonna be a while before I get to 27.  :-\

well i am running out of reasons why i cannot lose weight. i would never go back on BCP either. The copper IUD (paraguard) is definitely an option. I had no problem losing weight before DD with the Mirena, but everyone tells me your body changes so much that it could now be an issue. I always had to work really hard to lose weight, but was able to lose it, but i have really struggled in the past year or so to just maintain my weight with a very clean and careful diet and lots of exercise.

I am hoping it will also help with other symptoms like low sex drive and abdominal pains. I felt my sex drive kinda plummet when i got it after DD, where as before DD i never had an issue with sex drive. The midwives chalked it up to being tired, but at almost 3 yo, i think that is not the only part of it. From Dr Google, it seems low sex drive, bloating, and abdominal pains are really common, and i know i have had cysts rupture. i have never been to a dr about it, but based on the symptoms and intense pain, i am pretty sure it has occurred.

I have inquired in the CH about low sex drive before and heard suggestions that my testasterone may be low. Just something to ask about.

Sorry the blood work didn't yield answers for you Meri.

Eating out is hard on WW but doable if you are picky about where you go.
I have friends that love chain restaurants which I avoid just because I don't really care for them, and those can be deadly, luckily they happily go to Ruby Tuesday's and I find it pretty easy there to get something WW friendly. You have your choice of sides there which helps too. Italian is always going to be tough, they give you way more then a cup of pasta and all that cheese on everything. Best though if you try to limit the eating out.

And remember, they just changed the plan in January. 29 used to be the lowest for anyone. They say you can still use that if you want. If 27 is too hard for you to accomplish ease up on yourself and go back to the 29.

i made Cauliflower fried "rice" for dinner, where you take a head of cauliflower chopped and then pulse in a food processor until it looks like rice. I sauteed some onion, mushroom, pepper, carrots and peas and added the cauliflower rice and cooked for about 10 minutes and added in some sauteed tofu. I seasoned it with some teriyaki (no HFCS, hard to find!) and soy sauce and garlic and ginger.

I think that most (not all) reported weight gain being caused by the pill is correlation not causation.

Single = easy to control your food intact.
Long term relationship = difficult to control your food intake.

Meri...are you still breastfeeding?

debba - great job on the 10K !!
Meri - I did a lot of reading before getting my Mirena out.  I paid $900 out of pocket to get the damn thing put in so was a little annoyed that I didn't get my full money's worth.  BUT I did get back my libido, lost weight, and my acne that had gotten way worse has cleared up some.  I'm on other meds that kill the libido again, but after reading so much negative comments about the mirena I was happy to get it out and felt better that same day.  The few weeks afterwards because of the TOM were tough, but now that I'm on no hormones it is so much better.  Just my experience.   There *must* be vasectomy surgeries on youtube....have a look and do it when the DH is asleep.   :>D:  (Only half joking)

The kids did not nap AT ALL today.   :skep:  We did however make them sit in their cribs for awhile to at least try...lots of giggles & mayhem instead of sleeping.  I got a 4.7 mile run in, but no other exercises.   :-\   Luckily the kids crashed very quickly tonight.  Food has been uninspiring lately.

I am trembling and practically in tears at the thought of the "how much do you need to work out to eat whatever you want" thread.  It's so frustrating that there is no amount of exercise that will let me not pay attention to every scrap of food that goes into my mouth.  As much as I find it satisfying to eat well and avoid junk, it is always a struggle not to have that extra slice of bread.  I know if I have it the scale will reflect it.   It has been a struggle all my life and it will be a struggle every day to avoid not just putting on a few pounds, but becoming obese.

I can't even imagine eating whatever I want without paying for it, because I have paid for it, over and over.  I am angry that it's something that I want, even if I know the price.

I'm going to put myself to sleep reminding myself that health and fitness are what I want, not eating too much food.  I hope I will believe it.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

I could not even read the thread.....I am the same as you mini
Merigayle, Imentioned before how much I loved my copper iud...it worked great and it only took a few months for my periods to mellow out. I loved loved loved it, and if I needed bc now that would be my one and only choice.

Tomorrow is our last day here...we check out at 11am and our flight leaves at 9pm so we will head to the aquarium and IO needle for a hike in e afternoon.  We have been surfing, swimming and or snorkeling everyday...a good portion of that right off our front porch.  I have been pretty good about food but not dilligent. It is the BEER that is killing me....but there is something about sitting on the lanai with a beer.

I am looking forward to getting home..even with the rain. I miss my dogs and my routine. How weird is that?  But all n all the weather, my head cold and the curse of Laurie's vacation have been conquered!

Me too.  There has never been a day in my adult life during which I didn't think about every bite of food, never a day when I haven't been trying to lose some weight, never a day when I haven't felt heavier or squishier than I want to.   I usually do not like to tell people in my life how much I exercise because I am afraid that they won't believe me, because I do not think the way I look really reflects how hard I work and how I struggle with food.    I hope the truth is that my body image is just quite distorted, which is a strange thing to say, but it would mean that others actually view me as fit and in good shape regardless of how squishy my midsection feels to me.

I am sorry, guys. I didn't mean for that thread to go that way at all.

I was thinking it was going to be more of a "this is the magical point where I can eat what I want" but it just made you feel bad.

It sounds magical to me because there's no realistic way I'd ever exercise more than an hour a day. Maybe it doesn't really exist.

Anyway, I'll remove the thread. It was a stupid idea and I didn't mean to make you feel horrible.

I was so fucking frustrated tonight. Antag really wanted to go to Chick Fil A because he loves it and we don't have one where we live. So we look up points ahead of time and I decide that I can go and be ok if I order a grilled chicken sandwich, side salad, and a large fruit cup (I was starving and I only had 12 points left). So we get there and it is packed with little kids and there is a huge line but we are already there so we wait forever to order (like 15 minutes) and then when we get up there I was informed that they are out of side salads so I get frustrated but still order my sandwich and fruit. Then they bring it and they didnt have any large fruit cups so they bring me 2 small ones...whatever...except I open it and the fruit is all old and mashed and rotten looking so all I got for dinner was the damn sandwich...I was so pissed off. And of course I got to watch Antag eat a big ole thing of nuggets and fries. Gah!

So then we went and had frozen yogurt.  :d I did stick with a mini though but I probably still went over.
