I'm in bare legs today, not sandals though, I didn't like the way the dark polish looked with them. Need to get that changed next week.

WW Weigh in same as last week. *sigh* I have 96 activity points this week, used 68 of them and 0 weekly. I only use them the day I earn them, guess I need to try to stay within the 49 extra points no matter whether they are activity or weekly. They tell you to "use those weekly points and earn those AP's " but truth told I do better not using all of the WP's and none of the AP's. Damn annoying but it's a work in progress. Trying to stop the negative thoughts.
Oh well, maybe next week I will have a loss.

I got new running shoes woohooo! Been a few years, I wasn't running much.
Been running nearly every morning during the week for a few months, ordered a new pair and like I said it's been so long I ordered the wrong size!
Luckily, I have the boardwalk to try them out on and realized they were too short. I go up half a size, sent them back to runningwarehouse.com for the right size.

Today I am browsing sandals on DSW. They have 35% off and free shipping if you spend $149 or something. Maybe I will just go there after work :)

FWIW in all my years on WW I never used activity points. I personally think they give on way too many of them and when I did use them I never lost weight.

I do use some of my weekly points but if I really want to use I have to not use most of those also.

Truth be told I can't get away with too many extra points either. Some people use all their extras and still lose. Annoying as shit but that's life.
Today in the meeting I said that I was having a hard time staying within my points (and I upgraded the new PP back to 29 because screw that, a person who does the amount of exercise I do can't live on 26)  if I used all 3 dairy they want me to have at my age plus the two oils and she said if you use the extras for that kind of thing instead of for (insert your goodie here, mine is alcohol) that you should still lose. I say every week I am going to try harder but dammit, I like my goddamned beer, wine and the occasional martini! Ah well, tomorrow starts a new week ;)

hally - ya for new running shoes!!  and new shoes in general!  :D
all-smiles - is there a chance someone else could give K a bottle of breastmilk at that time if he needs it?
There is no F*n way I'd be able to get up at 5 without some major changes.  One of the main reasons I have yet to run a 5K lately is because I do not want to get up & be ready & be somewhere to run by 9:00 am!

Debba - no matter how bad you think you suck at your 10K, at least you are doing it!! Good for you!!
caito - throw the shorts away & get some nice flattering ones that make you feel good.  With all of the work/training you've been doing lately I think you deserve it.
Mini - I'm sure you'll be super close to your goal by the end of March.
Jamers - unsolicited comments & praise is great!  Enjoy it!

As for me, today I had some baked oatmeal muffin things for breakfast.  Apparently I'm skipping lunch - that seems to be a trend lately...no lunch but early dinner.  I've got ham in the crockpot and some yeast rolls rising.  I'll figure out some type of veggie.  I've started my first batch of the 5 minute Artisan bread today, so that should be ready to try tomorrow.  I've also got an Orange Pound Cake in the oven.... if the cake tastes anything like the batter, it will be awesome!

I'm feeling a little achy from my abs & push ups yesterday... I guess that is a good thing.  I'm wearing a maxi dress that I bought the other day.  It feels very weird, but comfortable, because I *never* wear anything like this.  Even DH is a little surprised.   I have also started using some fake tan to ease the pasty factor of my legs.

Thanks, Bolloxd! I needed that - feeling very defeated right now. I haven't done anything exceptionally off-track, I'm just very bleh. I'd had a good, solid few weeks and now the hormones are here and I've gained a bit and I'm wondering why I did all that hard work because there is CLEARLY no point and I'm doomed, DOOMED, I TELL YOU, to be fat for the rest of my life.

Stupid hormones.

That said, I haven't thrown in the towel and binged, so there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Granted, it's probably an oncoming train, but at least it's light!

Yeah, good idea. You need sunglasses to look at mine :D
Major problem with going early on the bare legs.
I liked the footless tights they had in Target the other day but didn't really have time to look at the sizes/weights. But I think they are a good idea for the transition. You can still do the sandals without blinding anyone.

People just have to wear sunglasses to look at me. I'm no good at maintaining a fake tan, and I don't want/can't achieve a real one.  8) Sorry, y'all.

I don't really WANT a tan....but being that I am outdoors a ton I tend to get a little color on my legs. Even with 30 SPF.

Meri, I sure hope you get some answers ASAP.

I was looking through my bag and found an Amazon Local deal I bought, $30 for $60 at a place on the boardwalk here and it expires 4/1
I am really busy next week and going away this weekend, so even though I can't find anyone to go with me tonight I am going to use it.
It says no alcoholic drinks included, the entrees and apps better be tres expensive to get my money's worth! :)

I've already had melanoma once and was really, really lucky that we caught it super-early. I'd rather not do that again, thanks. And I'm just really bad about applying and then maintaining fake tanner.

Yeah, I don't purposely go seeking sun. I have had two things removed from my face already too, with MOHS surgery. And I don't burn easily.
But like I said I am an outdoors type, and it's really hard to stay out of it totally on a road bike even though we have a lot of shade where I ride. I wear heavy sunblock, don't lay out in it, if I do go to the beach I sit under an umbrella and I get a full body check regularly at the dermatologists.

OK, out of here, off tomorrow. Going up to near Great Barrington, MA to hike the Massachusetts Mt Washington on Saturday.

This is me.  I don't tan at all, just burn and peel.  No thanks!  When I think about it (which is like once every 2 weeks) I'll use the tinted moisturizer on my legs.  Not sure it really helps though.  Eh, whatever.  I am contemplating getting a spray tan before my wedding.  I should probably test it out in advance, to make sure I don't turn a weird color.

Not much to report on the healthy eating/fitness front.  It's that time of the month, and when I'm crampy I don't want to go to the gym.  Instead I stay home and eat M&M's. No bueno.

Don't do anything before your wedding that you haven't fully tested. If you want to try a tan, make sure it doesn't turn you a weird color, AND make sure it won't come off on your dress! Also, if you're like me, stuff on your skin takes a long damn time to fade - so try it now. I got a tiny little henna tattoo on my ankle in June before my wedding in September, and you could still see the traces of it if you looked really closely. My mom was totally freaked out that it was still there in August. I refrained from pointing out that no one would see the effing thing under my big poofy dress, but she was on the stressed out side, so I didn't.

If you do turn orange, you want time for that to fade out.

Yeah, that's what I figured.  If I try a tan, it will probably be in April so I've got a good long time for it to fade.  I don't get married until July.  Though to be honest, I might just embrace the pastiness that is my complexion.  Kenyan doesn't seem to mind it and then it's one less thing I have to worry about that week!

If you're like me, you'll be lucky if a spray tan in April has faded by July. I'm just saying. Do the lightest possible setting, if you do it.

Whew! I'm all caught up (again.) Since this isn't in yammering, I sometimes forget to check in on the thread! Oops....

Anywho, things have been going relatively well. Running and continuing to do my Jillian DVDs (I will finish week 5 this week!) My knee has been hurting since my HM in Feb due to what I suspect is ITB, so I have to use a knee band thingy. It works enough so that my knee doesn't hurt much afterwards. I have kept it to under 4 miles, though. This weekend, I'm going to try to ratchet it up to 5 miles for my "long" run....  :fingers:

I've been trying to tweak my calorie limits. I used an online BMR calculator and it indicates that the calorie deficit level given to me by My Fitness Pal is too high (as in, it's telling me to eat too many calories every day.) The past few days, I've been able to eat under my calories. Last night, I tried a new kickboxing class (SO fun- got 10 classes with a groupon!) I am soooooo sore, btw. I can feel the muscles inside my butt cheeks.  :hah: I can tell there's a lot of fat on my booty since the muscles feel realllllly deep inside the cheeks (paging Fionn...) Anyway, I left a lot of extra calories yesterday and today, I've been starving! I had to stop at Target to pick up a prescription and got a reeses pb cup. :( Then, dad had Stouffers Mac/cheese for us for dinner- in the "individual" servings. The full fat kind. I never eat that! And it turns out, those trays are TWO servings. :( After dinner, I've been watching tv and wanting something more (ugh.. not sure how!) and instead of eating the coconut gelato in the freezer, I had some grape nuts with almond milk. Probably even calorie-wise, but at least it's semi-healthier (right??)

Bollxd- glad you are getting back into your routine! The weather sure makes it easier to convince ourselves to run, at least!
RA- I think you taking a month break will not undo everything you've done. As others said, I bet your habits will carry through. Can you take running shoes and/or a workout dvd with you? When I travel, I absolutely LOVE to run in new places!! It's my very favorite way to get to know new places! I'm not a morning person at.all, but I will get up super early if it means a special early run before my day begins even when travelling. :) That way, you aren't being anxious about it, but it can be part of your trip (running on the beach is heaven!!)
Meri- any word yet on results? (I know it's still early, though...)
Onawhim, how is mom? :)
Debba- have fun at your 10k!! I think just the mental aspect of participating with other runners will help inspire you. I love the excitement of a race! :)

Re wedding weight.... yeah I'm trying to lose about 13 lbs (18 if I really want to dream) before the wedding. It may or may not happen....I'm trying to focus on how I look (toned/fit) vs. size, but still... I've been obsessed with listening to the Jillian Michaels podcasts. She calls the last 20lbs or so "vanity pounds", meaning that your body may be *perfectly* healthy where it is (meri, I suspect this is YOU, despite your own weight goals). So, it works hard to NOT lose anymore... she has a book called Making the Cut about how to specifically target those pounds that I think I'm going to get after payday. I hope that through tweaking and working out, I can get to my goal by this summer so all I have to do is maintain.

Did someone say "white and pasty"?  :D

Meri, when are you getting your results?  I'm dying to know!
Glad you all are doing well.  And Bolloxd, you look REALLY amazing.

I'm down a pound.  I just need to focus on healthy choices and keeping the nighttime snacking to a minimum for now.

I want to hear about the TRX workout.  Did you do a tape along with the TRX or just print out a list of moves to follow?  I went to a class given at a Pilates studio and LOVED it but it's across town so not convenient to go all the time.  I could hardly move for a week!

oooh i used to take the most killer kickboxing classes  in boston. enjoy! i bought a groupon to learn rock climbing, eek! i will call the dr this morning and check if any results are in. i am not  happy at my weight and was 10lbs lighter last year and 20lbs lighter before getting pregnant, i do not think i am being unreasonable in my weight goals. Even 20lbs lighter does not put me underweight or close to it for my height.
