I am sorry, guys. I didn't mean for that thread to go that way at all.

I was thinking it was going to be more of a "this is the magical point where I can eat what I want" but it just made you feel bad.

It sounds magical to me because there's no realistic way I'd ever exercise more than an hour a day. Maybe it doesn't really exist.

Anyway, I'll remove the thread. It was a stupid idea and I didn't mean to make you feel horrible.
don't remove it Bonita! It wasn't intentional at all.

It isn't your fault but it is a hot button issue for me and apparently others.

Even Antag doesn't beleive how much I used to work out in order to maintain my weight.

I went camping this weekend, so plenty of hiking and other physical activity.  I haven't camped in probably 12 -14 years!   Fun!

i am breastfeeding, but so minimally, and plan on weaning next week (since i am going away for 4 days), but i was breastfeeding 10+ times a day and 10lbs lighter last year. THere are days where she nurses for 5 minutes tops, total and a couple days iwth out nursing at all.

Bolloxd-- thank you for your insight. i "only" paid $500 for mine :D

Mouse- yep, the paraguard is probably going to be the next step. Tried to talk about the big V last night with DH and he totally freaked out. I wanted to be like, are you for real?????!?!?!??!?! Have you seen the Essure thing? i would contemplate that in the future, but not now.

I have not seen this thread but will go look. Even when i was running 75 mpw, i had to watch what i ate and everyone was like, wow you run so much, you must be able to eat anything you want, NO WAY  :fiery: Like Caito, i think about food 24/7, even when not dieting.

I didn't blame you at all.  And I didn't mean for the thread to be removed - that's why I vented over here and restrained myself over there.    It wasn't a stupid idea.  I think we all have the dream that if we work out enough we can eat all those things we deny ourselves.  And some people have very high metabolisms and low appetites and can eat to satiety.

Sorry I over-reacted.  It's just a really hot button for me.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

She's an awful, awful human being.

Nope.  They weren't allowed on the trails where we were going.  I'd like to take them camping in the future, but Mia can't hike very far, so not sure how feasible that idea is.  They stayed with friends who has a dog they love and a big backyard.  They were both pooped when I got home.   :D

It's okay. I understand.

Hugs, but no outrage.

i cannot even imagine a world where i can eat whatever i want without recourse (like weight gain). It would be a lovely existence.

Yeah, Reid can eat adult-size portions at times and the kid has been 30 pounds for at least 6 months, with almost no fluctuation. It's astounding.

I try not to obsess about what's going in my mouth, but if I don't *think* in advance about what I'm going to eat, I will inevitably make a bad decision and end up gaining. That's how I got to this point.

And frankly, I have 70ish pounds to lose, so I'm still very much in the stage of "think about what you're doing when you eat." Good habits are developing, but I'm not safely there yet. It's why I'm really focused on tracking everything I'm eating right now - I know what I should be eating, but having to write it all down and actually see what's happening with my WW points has really opened my eyes.

I don't know that there will ever be a point where I can work out for an hour a day and eat whatever I want. Because "whatever I want," right now, means ice cream and cookies and junk. Giving all that up for Lent has really helped, though. I don't seem to crave it anymore.

Not for all of us, unfortunately.  BUT there is always a bright side: since I've had to watch my weight my entire life, nothing has changed.  I have many friends who were super thin as children and were shocked to see this change at age 30 or 40.  not me

I really struggle with figuring out how much food I actually *need* to sustain all the exercise.  Because when you're doing long runs and lifting weights on a regular basis, you get hungry.   It's hard to figure out the balance of proper fueling and weight loss.

There's also the trap of feeling like you "earned" some extra calories.   A 5 mile  run = roughly 500 calories.    Then you splurge on an ice cream cone or pizza or a burger or some beers and zap, it's gone.     I wish the effort it took to consume those splurge calories equaled the effort it takes to burn them!

I know!   My inner bitch is smugly satisfied now that all my naturally skinny friends from high school and college who never exercise or pay close attention to nutrition are suddenly gaining weight and I'm finally the fit one.   I guess I am glad that I learned the tough lesson earlier than later.

No kidding. I remember somebody (makeda maybe?) posted once about how long it took to eat a fast food burger. She timed it, and it was roughly 90 seconds. Gah!

Well, I was thinking of my four year old, who will happily eat as much ice cream that fits. It's not at all on her radar whether or not it's going to have negative repercussions, eating ice cream at that age is an exercise in pure joy for her. Hopefully most preschoolers aren't worrying about the impact a dessert is going to have on them. :(

Christ, I hate my boss and the fucking drama queens in my department. They make me want to eat. I'm not going to, they just make me want to.
