Yes, we have been seeing the Fresh Beat Band live segments.  Jessica is SO excited!  We told her a week or so ago.  Do the twins know?
We can't wait to see you guys.

So... NY was not exactly a low calorie trip this time (it never is). I feel like I've gained a few lbs lately. So... back on the straight & narrow today. I did run last night and it was awful. Today I'm tired and sore and dragging. No real reason to feel as incredibly craptastic as I do. A bit of a mystery really. Hoping to run again tonight.

I am struggling. I wish I could figure out my issues but I just cannot seem to stick to an eating plan and I can't manage to make myself workout.

I've been spinning out of control since Sunday.   :(

:(  Sorry guys. I wish I had something more inspiring to say... but didn't want these two posts to go uncommented on. I hope you regain your mojo soon.

I finally feeling kind of normal today after being sick since about Friday last week.  I have a little cough at night, and still some congestion in my head, but I FEEL so much better.  Hopefully I will be able to run by this weekend.  I skipped most of my runs last week, and then to not be able to run this week either...

I am having chili AGAIN today.  I think it's the last day it's edible. I made it Sunday.  I chunked a bunch of it in the freezer Monday morning, but I've been eating the part that I refrigerated.  I'm kind of tired of the chili.  It makes my stomach noisy.

So, for the time being, I can't exercise. At all. Not even walk.

That means I *really* need to get with the program when it comes to eating.  :panic:

I am in the same boat. Is it allergies? A cold? Particulate in the air from the fires in another part of the state? Some days I feel fine... some days I feel like I got run over by a truck.

When I make a big pot of soup I usually freeze it into individual portions pretty much right away. Then I don't have to eat it until I get sick of it (unless I want to). :)

Hang in there Debba. You're pregnant. Be kind to yourself. I hate the idea of you beating yourself up for the next 8.5 months when hormones are driving your hunger cues right now!

It was definitely a cold.  I had the 2 days of sore throat drainage with fatigue, then the day of maybe it's not happening and I don't feel so bad, followed by 2 days of run over by a truck and can't breathe, followed by lingering cough.  I got off easy too.  Most of the time, my colds turn into a 2 week plus ordeal.

I do have allergies, and I need to get my allergy shots tomorrow, but I can almost always tell the difference.

Thanks, meri and RA. I'm just going to have to be extra careful for now, until I get cleared to start walking and working out again. I was told, "go to work, go home, be a couch potato." I was like, "Dude, I've been waiting YEARS for someone to give me permission to do that!!!"

for dinner I am having: pink grapefruit yogurt, 6 oz of fruit salad (no melon in sight!) and.... potato chips.

It still beats DQ. By a lot.

:rotfl:

i have been doing ok today, ran well at lunch. I really need to muster up the oomph to get back to early morning runs and do some 2 a days. I just feel, blech. DD went to sleep wtihout me in her bed last night, i took her to Michaels and she bought glitter glue pens, a lollipop and a pad of paper for reward. I hope this continues, me sleeping in her bed has really killed my back :( It is TERRIBLE.

And in good news, I was stressing over our credit cards, etc, and called one card and they lowered the APR a lot. I had never realized how high it was (they say it was always that high, she looked thru the records) and just was not making any progress, even sending them a lot of money each month. We are starting to do the "pay off the lowest balance card first" thing, starting with DH's card and hope to get them paid off sooner than later. I would really like to do Badwater again, but I have to do it, only if i can pay cash and we can afford it. I paid almost all cash this year for everything, but there's always something that needs $$. Taxes are the big one. Ugh. It is so hard being self employed sometimes. I am putting away more and more each week, so hopefully that will help.

just needed to vent.

We've told them but I don't think it will sink in until we're in the car and on the way.

Deb, that is funny.  Enjoy the permission to take things easy.

Meri, glad you got the APR lowered.  Having credit card debt over your head is so frustrating.  We have a cycle of paying them off and then getting right back in debt.  So crazy but for some reason we keep doing it.  Blah.

My vent:  DH moans about me not doing 5k races with him like a 'family' but he won't train for it.  Then I arrange for a babysitter on race day and he still insists they won't be able to watch TWO toddlers at the same time.  I can't win.   And how on earth can I even think this person could handle both kids alone.... blah blah blah. :eyeroll:

bolloxd- that is our cycle too! between DH having been out of work and then all the $$ we had to spend when he went back to work, it crept back up.

Yeah, we're paying off some impressive CC debt right now, too. Ugh. SO annoying. I had one almost completely paid off earlier this year and suddenly, BAM!! I swear, I don't know how we do it. I'm seriously contemplating putting us on a cash-only budget unless it's something we *must* order off the internet, like, say, a crib.

I left grad school 10 yrs ago with $35,000 in cc debt, paid it all off. When we bought our house 5 years ago, we put a lot on the cc, like $5000, expecting to pay it off in 12-18 months, then the economy tanked, and then DH was out of work and so on and so on. When he went back to work, we had to buy him a tool box, we bought a dented, used one, for $4500. That was a bargain, believe it or not  :grr: That went on the cc as well. So, just these stupid things that add up. And i had to do 60 credits of continuing ed, that went on the cc. But yeah, pretty much all we do is cash, but the damage is done, and it needs to be paid off. I was so happy to have made that call yesterday. I think this paperless bill thing is part of the problem, i never really get to sit with a paper bill in my hand and REALLY look it over, if that makes sense. We do not live extravagant lives, we maybe eat out 1-2 times a month, max, and never anywhere fancy. I wish DH would pack his lunch, but he cannot plan and half the time, if he does prepare a lunch, he forgets it  :eyeroll:

I went to the bank today to do my weekly banking and i actually feel like we are caught up, esp since we did not have to pay the mortgage in october with the refi. This really helped us catch up. I hope if we can keep the momentum this month, we should be good to do wtih saving and paying off. It is hard, both DH and I have variable incomes, it is hard to plan when your pay can vary so much. Last week I made $800 more than this week, that is a HUGE difference. And totally out of my control :(

I don't know how you do it with a variable income, meri. My head would explode trying to figure it out. We were planning to sit down and rework the budget this weekend, so I'm going to really push the "cash-only" option. We've been stashing money away for Christmas, so that's covered, at least. I'll have to do some stuff for Reid's birthday party, so I'll have to figure that out - the bakery we use requires a CC deposit, but I can cover that. I'm just SO tired of it.

And then I'll pay the minimum on DH's card, because we're putting everything extra on another card right now, and then I get his bill and it's full of little Amazon charges because he has the impulse control of a rat when it comes to cheap music. Except it's not cheap when it adds up to MORE than the minimum payment and Citi is charging him 10% interest!!! GAAAAAAAH.

This makes me want chocolate.

Debba...hide you credit cards ins block of ice. If an emergency comes along you can melt it but otherwise they stay unavailable. Use a debit card for your credit card purchases.

Yeah, we've done that. DH keeps saying he's going to take his CC off his Amazon account, and then "forgets." :eyeroll:

We never use the credit cards, but we have in the past, used them for some big purchases that had to be made (like the tool box, the CEU classes, etc) and all those good intentions of how they will get paid off, well, more shit hits the fan, ugh.

oh and DH was supposed to get a $1 pay raise 2 weeks ago, still not in his check, and he said that he won't get back pay, i was like, wtf? you better ask for it. But he does not like to ruffle feathers  :eyeroll:

I ran last night (4.25 miles) which is the first time in weeks. Tiny victory but today and last night my back was killing me.
