Yeah, DH and I used to pack the food down. I finally realized that one serving was a reasonable WW points number, but eating half of a recipe for 4? Notsomuch. Now that Reid is really starting to eat "big people" food, I give myself a serving, he gets about half a serving or less (depending on what it is), and it's up to DH to figure out how much he's going to eat. He's a grown-up. I can't control what he eats, or how much of it he eats.

ooooh i made a good pad thai recipe! you can use it as a starting point http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=14784.0

my DH can eat a whole cheesecake, like a COSTCO one and not gain a lb. I look at it and i gain five. I do not even really care for cheesecake, yeah it is yummy, but birthday cake is where it is at :D

Interestingly that is pretty close to the one I used. Mine had vinegar (I used cider vinegar), sugar, fish sauce, and chili paste in it. It just tasted nothing like the pad thai I can get at a restaraunt.

That is what I saw in most of the recipes but it is not something I have.

It's the key flavor that you are missing. You can usually find it at health food stores or a specialty asian store. You might even be able to find it in the asian section of your regular grocery- my safeway sells it.

Stuff like that I leave to the people that know how to make it. The Thai restaurant.
I love those spicy noodles but they are freshly made and you can't really store them.
I asked where they got them and they told me they get them every day in Elmhurst (neighborhood in Queens) fresh.
It's cheap enough to order from them.

yes, the key ingredient.  I had to drive 60 miles to find some.  Here is rural no man's land, forget it.

Asian-marinated flank steak tonight for dinner, with basmati rice and some veggie stir-fry. Yum! One portion was just fine, even though I probably could have eaten the whole thing.

Oh, and a glass of red wine.

today was just ok. DH brought home locally made ice cream and him and DD (who i told him i did not want to eat dairy!!!) ate two bowls each. I had two tastes, and that was it. It was beyond delicious. Tomorrow is the bloodwork, god willingly, and i cannot get the results fast enough. Gotta also make my appt at the midwife for my annual. I just could not bring myself to eat a salad for lunch today.

I kind of felt it coming on the last day or so...head cold. I am cramming vitamin c in hopes that it will go away. I am sniffling and coughing. (hopefully it is just a small cold.)

Awwww.  I'm all hormonal, but I'm also having allergy issues (eff you, oak trees!), and that's keeping me from being too hungry, I think. But my boss's boss had her tonsils out just before spring break and she was whining today (in a nice way, I like her a lot) about not being able to eat anything because she doesn't like sweet stuff and has a hard time with dairy, so she couldn't have ice cream, and she doesn't like popsicles, because her teeth are cold sensitive... so in the week and a half since her surgery, she's lost 18 pounds.

I was like, I'd GAIN 18 pounds if I had an excuse to eat nothing but ice cream and popsicles, and wait, maybe I need to just get my tonsils out instead of a lap-band or gastric bypass...

Mouse - I really hope the weather holds out for you and the cold stays at bay!
meri - I hope you have no problems getting the blood work done tomorrow.

So, I decided I'll definitely be sticking to my current weight and NOT bulking up again.  :eyeroll:  I went clothes shopping today and it was very successful!  I got both kids their entire summer wardrobe - since it has been in the 80s and none of us have summer clothes!  I *may* have gotten 5 pairs of shoes for Rachel...  :-[  I couldn't resist plus they were on sale.  I also got quite a few clothes for me, so I can't gain the weight back!  The best part is they were from a consignment shop or marked down at TJMaxx.   8)

With all the shopping I missed my run again.  Urgh.  Really, honestly, will do it tomorrow... I think.

Hah! Probably not - I am in no way judging her, since I'm in the same boat, but she absolutely has 18 pounds and more to lose. I wouldn't be at all surprised if a smoothie had never even occurred to her. When I'm not focusing on what I'm eating, they don't occur to me, either.

I had a pizza-related victory - we ordered in, and we made a HUGE salad to eat before we had pizza, so the pizza portions were small and not out of control.  :)
