Can I request help?  What would you eat here (the dinner menu in the left).

Knowing me, I'd probably end up with a burger, but I suspect that's not the kind of help you want. :) Probably salad or the pasta with veggies. If the seafood is good, that might be a good option, too, but I don't eat seafood, so I can't advise you there.

Yum!

Mediterranean salad, dressing on the side.
Grilled salmon (but becareful with the mashed potatoes, likely full of butter and cream)
or
the filet of beef tenderloin.  Yum....

Or cobb salad w/dressing ont he side but who wants salad with all that meat on the menu?

The seared ahi tuna sandwich looks awesome.  I might not eat the whole roll though.

Or get a salad and the tenderloin skewer appetizer.  And maybe the soup of the day will not be cream-based!

Well, a steak and a side of veggies is a fine option. Half of the smallest steak is a fine size. Skip the potatoes or ask for salad instead.

The half a roast chicken (again, watch portion size, although even if you over eat on the chicken, you're still fine) and veggies. No potatoes. No gravy. Or get them and eat only a few bites.

The mama's farfalle & chicken looks like it could be good without the cream sauce. Try and leave some/most of the pasta on the plate. 2 tbs of parmesan cheese doesn't add too many calories.

Grilled salmon- ditto above on potatoes. But... it's probably farmed so I wouldn't order it just for that reason. The sea bass could be ok without the butter. But, I don't know what "australian sea bass" is and I'd be leary of it just for that reason. If it's farmed baramundi- this is actually a good choice for sustainability. If it's toothfish...notsomuch. You could ask... although the server might look at you like you have 3 heads.

If you could be happy with a salad- the stacked salad looks good. Dressing on the side or just ask for a couple of lime wedges instead of dressing. If the tortilla part is strips that are cut & fried- skip them.

Roasted pear & chicken- try and leave some blue cheese & walnuts on the plate. Skip the dressing.

Or... know you've done a fantastic job and you can hop right back on the wagon the next meal. Order whatever you like and stop eating before you are stuffed. Call it your splurge for the week and move on.

My top pick based on taste alone would be the Mediterranean Flatbread.... My gut reaction is that it is better than a burger or even salmon (since I could never resist the mashed potatoes).  Thoughts?

Med Salad is my second choice.

Get the Med Flatbread and a small salad.  Perfect!   If the flatbread is really big, take some home.

Appreciating the input!

Part of the issue is I have a work happy hour at 9 that same night.  Plus I'm going out with the parents and inlaws-to-be on Saturday, with a wedding shower on Sunday.  If it were one challenging night, I wouldn't really care.

I'm hitting the gym extra hard this week!

hmmm. any of the salads with the dressing on the side and no cheese. the flatbread, is that like a flat bread pizza? I would just make sure there is no oil drizzled on it, etc.

Yep, I think the med flatbread is a fine choice.

Is there some point where you need to stop losing weight before the wedding so that the dress fits on your big day?

I'm trying to maintain starting April 1.

I was worried because I haven't been a consistent size for a month in my entire adult life.  I talked to the lady doing my alterations, and she said that's normal.  She laughed and said almost all brides have a 5-pound fluctuation in the last 2 weeks due to stress.

Honestly, I don't care whether I lose another pound.  But I dont know how to do that (yet) so I'm staying in "on" mode.

The seared ahi tuna sandwich looks awesome.  I might not eat the whole roll though.

Open faced so you eat half the roll or less if it isn't delicious (good bread worth every calorie, bad bread not worth even one) and ask for a big side of the veggies.

Jamers- do you have a target for a maintain weight yet? I have a little table in the book I'm working out of. I'd be happy to look it up for you when I get home, if you like. :)

I really, really, really want to go down to the vending machines and get something. I won't do it, I just thought I'd mention it.

Yeah, Ben & Jerry's PB Cup is a weakness for me. And I'll have to walk right past it this afternoon at the grocery store. I'm having some major cravings right now and I just finished lunch, so it's not because I'm actually hungry.

Is it an honest to god craving for that specific food, or is it something else?  Like, "I don't want to do X, so I'll eat ice cream instead." or "my life is so fucking crazy right now that it would be so nice to sit down and check out completely, which is perfect with ice cream?"
