DH got home earlier than expected, so he did the grocery run. Hallelujah, I was feeling week. Had a big-ass cobb salad for dinner and got my butt kicked at the gym. All in all, not a bad day. Plan for tomorrow is get up and do SOMETHING, eat well, come home. No idea on dinner right now.

YAY debba for a good day!

Yay bolluxd for putting back the jelly beans!

Yay to seattle remembering ya gotta eat!

Yay MM getting back to WW!

Welcome bensmom!

I survive the grocery store by sticking to the outside lanes and sticking to my list.  The only aisles I go into are the bread/frozen veggie aisle and the beans/soup aisle.

Damn Cadbury and their mini-eggs!  Those things are calling to me, and I haven't even glimpsed a bag in the store yet.  But I know they're there.   :(

I saw a commercial for a local athletic club that really annoyed me.  In a "candid interview with a customer", she claimed to have lost 50 pounds, going from a size 14 to a size 2.  Baloney!  I usually lose a clothing size every 15-20 pounds, so 50 pounds at that level would maybe take me from a 14 to a 10.  Even if she lost a size every 10 pounds, she'd still be a size 4 after losing 50.  Unless that 14 was REALLY baggy and she was really a size 10 to start - or that size 2 is really a vanity sized 8.   She looked like a 6-8 to me.   Unrealistic expectations don't help anyone.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

Oh, blah, I hate stuff like those commercials, Mini. They're just ridiculous. And she probably lost it all in, what, a month or something?  :eyeroll:

I didn't manage to get out of bed this morning. *sigh* Oh well. Onward. Waffles for breakfast, the usual for lunch. We're going out somewhere for dinner - don't know where yet - but I should be okay. My muscles are clinging to every last drop of DFW they can today after last night's workout, but that's okay. Muscle is good.

I do the same thing at the grocery store, Mini - and usually DH and Reid are there with me, so it's tough to sneak in junk food. Last night I'd have had to go alone, though, after a long day at work, right around dinner time or just after a workout. Hello there, setup for failure!

WTG on rejoining WW Court and MM. I love the plan this time as opposed to the last time I tried it when they were pushing all their own products. Now they push fresh foods so much more. I think it's a plan you can stick to for life and it works if you follow it. Nothing is forbidden, it's about making choices. Plus I love the iPhone etools app and bar code scanner.

Hi bensmom, welcome.

Strength everyone in this time of bountiful chocolate.  I find that a little dark chocolate satisfies.  Like Courtney said I don't binge on it but do enjoy.  Woke up at 3:30 this morning, so I got up and put in four hours of work.  then 4 treadmill miles actually energized me, I thought I'd quit but didn't.  2 more hours of work and I'm nearly done for the day.  This is not my normal, but it's interesting.  Yogurt breakfast, spinach smoothie lunch, polenta with roasted grapes for dinner.  I'll spend the afternoon with a bit more work and be ahead of the game for a change.

Wednesdays are really hard for me to get a workout in. I am going to talk to my neighbor about joining forces on Wednesdays and either her and her DD come over while we work out (i have a stepper and a TM) and her DD (who is 7) occupies mine, or we enlist her DH or our neighbors to watch the girls while we do the 5 mile loop in our 'hood. Yesterday I did well eating. i avoided the cookies. For breakfast i made a single serve banana bread muffin. I love these single serve recipes!!

Well, David isn't having a nap today it seems....at least not at the same time as Rachel.   Since DH is working that means my run will either be very late tonight or not at all.  Gah.

I finished off the baked oatmeal this morning.  Curry and naan is planned for dinner.

I know it isn't typical weight loss with those commercials (isn't all marketing exaggerated?), but saying that... my biggest size shorts were a 14 last summer.  Granted it wasn't a tight 14, but still.... I only lost 30lbs and am in size 2 now.  It is most likely a combo of several things, not just exercise.  I know some med changes influenced my loss, along with running, better eating, etc.

Right, not much time to post.... little people to chase.

It's also body type. Even at my goal weight, there's no way in hell I'll ever be a 2.

PB&J, pretzels, and an apple for lunch. I still have my yogurt, too, and some tomatoes.

Yo!

Subway for lunch.  It's free cookie day.  So I got one to split with my co-worker.  :)

Tonight is date night for DH and I.  We are going to this bar, and the food is good bar food.  Which means not healthy.  I'll probably go for a grilled chicken sandwich and my "splurge" will be some fried pickles.  I would cut a bitch for some fried pickles.

Body type plays a big part.  I'm lucky to be small boned....that trick with wrapping your fingers around your wrist?  I don't know how to explain it but I can get my fingers around 1.5 times....if that makes sense.  Hopefully that won't cause any problems with bone loss or osteoporosis as I get older.

So, David finally crashed but there isn't enough time (or motivation) to run.  The naan bread making took much longer than expected and the house is full of smoke...ahem.

AND I'm upset over Davy Jones!!  Damn it!!

Oh I like that saying Courtney, lol.

Who wouldn't?

Yeah, we're having another date night tonight, since Reid is still with my parents. It's looking like a nicer Italian place. Not sure what I'll get yet, but it will be delicious.

You guys eat out a lot!   We went to a restaurant weekend before last, but I can't remember the time before that.  My birthday?  Our anniversary?

We don't usually eat out this much, but Reid's not here. We're like drunks on Bourbon Street on Fat Tuesday right now.

We do tend to eat out more than we should.  We try to make it more places like Subway (for cost & health)...  but we've decided that date night is a weekly deal.  It will be good for us.  We used to ride to and from work together every day, and we did a lot of our talking about our day, life, etc on the way home.  Since I switched jobs, I think we are both missing that, so we decided to dedicate some time to it.  :)  And if we say we'll do it at home, we just never get to it!

I'm having a good day so far. I had the i-diet version of oatmeal (50/50 oatmeal/wheatbran) for breakfast. That tided me over 'til lunch. Lentil soup + string cheese + and orange + several mini sweet peppers. I am planning 1/2 cup of greek yogurt + fiber cereal for snack. Meeting a friend for dinner. Planning to skip wine. But possibly going to have dessert. NOTHING on the menu is healthy. Not even modifiably so. I would show you the menu but they don't have a website. It's not going to be a good night. But, I'm just going to call it a splurge, realize it will set me back a bit, and move on.

Lastnight was dd's school dinner thing. It was fine. I had yogurt & cereal before leaving so was pretty full when I walked in the door. I tried a few bites of everything (including the chocolate lava cakes dd made). The scale was down a tiny bit this morning.

I do end up eating out a lot. Usually at least 2 meals/week. I've definitely cut back... but it is part of my life. It's my biggest weakness. I do fine at home.

we eat out about every 6-12 weeks.

i am making a dal kotfa recipe i made last week. i calculated it on sparkpeople's recipe calculator and it was 230 cals/servings, it tastes a lot more incredible than that!
