RA, logging is a great idea. EVERYTHING gets logged, even the little bites that don't count. What you eat in private shows in public.

Yeah, that's why I'm logging again. There must be something I'm eating that I'm not registering as many calories as it is. I'm following a specific eating plan. I no longer look at it to make sure I"m on plan- but at this point I know what portion sizes should look like, etc. I'm really not one to sneak in little cheats here and there. Like, not ever. Like, not even a tsp of sugar or a bite of dd's cookie. My only real explaination is the times that I go out to dinner, have a beer, whatever. But- we're not talking about several times a week full, fledged, binges. They seem like things I should be able to fit into my life. That's what's frusterating about it. I'm starting to log again because, like I said, I'm starting to get paranoid that I'm missing some giant calorie suck that's putting me WAY over on a daily basis withou noticing.

Logging works, but I'm really bad at it. :)

Actually, that's not totally true. I'm good at logging breakfast and lunch, because I can do those here at work. I'm bad about dinner, because DH gets pissy if I get up and log dinner, because it means 5-10 minutes where he has to deal with Reid alone.  :eyeroll: And he says he wants to help and support me.

:grr: that's crappy debba. Seriously. What I do is log everything I'm going to eat for the day ahead of time (while I eat breakfast in the morning). Then, I go back in later in the day/the next morning and change things according to what I actually ate. I like spark people because you can create food "groups" of things you typically eat together. So, I eat the i-diet cereal breakfast almost every morning (4 prunes, 1/3cup of fiber cereal, 3tbs granola, 1/2 cup milk) and so I just add that group to my tracker. Same for lunches and snacks and even most dinners. Most of my dressings are 60-70 calories/2tbs- so I just log them all at the 70 calorie level to make it easier on myself.

The only other thing I can really think of is that I haven't been that dilligent about measuring out veggies. They aren't "free" on this diet. She usually builds in like 2 cups plus 2 cups of salad. I have been treating them as free. But... I can't imagine that eating a few extra peppers at lunch is making me stall.

RA, just stick with it. I don't think that anyone got fat from eating too many peppers, or broccoli.

Debba, smack him upside his head for me the asshat!

RA, I don't know how tall you are, how much you weigh now, or how much you want to weigh, and it's absolutely none of my business, but if you're sure your goals are realistic, then keep at it - it sounds like you're doing all the right things. Sometimes your body just plateaus while it adjusts to reality, I think.

As for DH, he means well and I think he truly does want to support me, but he doesn't always realize that means he has to buck up sometimes and let me do things that mean he's going to have to fly solo with Reid for a bit. I'm working on him and he'll get there eventually. Last night he finally admitted that he needs to lose weight, too.

I'd kick his ass and he knows it. He also knows I'm capable of it. :)

good for you!! my DH totally does not get my food issues. i also was fat before i met him so he missed that. i have been on the heavier side of "recommended" weight with him, but not in my highest weights by any means. i just steamed up a big bowl of broccoli, yum  :P

DH doesn't necessarily get my food issues, but he knows I'm trying and struggling with losing weight. He wouldn't ever feed me something and then laugh at me for eating it. He also doesn't understand that giving me 10 minutes to track my food is helping me be successful and whining about me taking that 10 minutes greatly diminishes his chances of me letting him see me nekkid.

he sometimes seems to get it, but i think he truly does not understand how hard it is for me and how unhappy i am at my weight. I think it is even harder because i am not overweight, but 15lbs higher than i would like to be (atleast). For my height (5'8") the range of weight is HUGE for "recommended" weight, but i am really comfortable at a certain weight. i am really motivated though with Badwater and hope that motivation continues. Unfortunately, i would love to discuss this with my therapist, but 45 minutes goes fast and weight issues is one of the last on my list, LOL.

Yeah, DH doesn't really get it, either. Last time he did WW, he dropped the weight in a flash. Now, he's gained it all back (and then some), but doesn't seem willing to give up the second helpings or the Guinness. So there's not much I can do except keep my focus and start dragging my ass out of bed in the mornings so I can work out.

my DH can eat whatever he wants (and that can include mega binges) and not gain a pound  :fiery:

This is not the case for DH, as evidenced by his belly. That said, when he focuses, he sheds the weight much more easily than I do, the jackass.  :fiery:

well, my Dh can be really skinny, or less skinny, but if he wants to lose weight, he thinks about it and drops pounds, wtf?

Hell, if I could manage that, I'd have been skinny years ago.

I have to admit (sheepishly) that I dropped several pounds in the first week after I gave up junk food and sodas. I was thrilled, but also appalled.

Um, if you eat, say, a pint of ice cream every night? That's half your WW points for the day, in a lot of cases.

i cannot imagine she ate THAT much of her daily calories in ice cream, but maybe? i can also see her not getting low fat ice cream or froyo, but to drop weight just for that? HOLY COW !
