Meri, we don't know yet.  He works for the school district, so jobs for next year aren't posted yet.  We're hoping he finds something here in the Salt Lake area, but we'll see.

Nice pic RA!

I've been away all day visiting with my brand spanking new adorable niece.   :heartbeat:  She was worth the 29 hour labor I didn't have to go through.

I didn't do so well on eating today but did get a lot of fruit & veggies at the grocery store for tomorrow.  Still suffering from a cold and I'm so over all of the congestion.

See, this is my conundrum.  I know that if I was more particular about what I ate, I'd weigh less.  But I'm an okay weight for my height and I look about the same as I did when I was 12# lighter (my all-time adult low, achieved last fall).  Now, part of the reason I gained some weight back is that I didn't step.away.from.the.Snickers, but I really don't like obsessing over what I eat as much as I feel like I have to in order to maintain my weight.

I am totally in the same boat (except for not being at an ok weight for my height).  While I have a buttload of low hanging fruit to work on right now, I don't have any desire to be super strict.  Which will result in me always being a little softer than ideal.  I'd be a lot happier with 20 lbs less, and I think I could still have room in my diet for fun times and special food.  And wine.

RA, I know which way I'd choose :D  I hope you enjoy either place!

RA, going out and having a nice meal will feel decadent enough that you won't even want the dessert at the end of the night -- watch and see! Maybe you can have a bite or share one. You won't want the whole thing.

And you look great, too.

Guys, I'd like to move this over to the Food forum, does anybody have any major objections to that?

I'm trying to pump up traffic a little more over there and will be pushing more of the appropriate threads in that direction.

Up 2 for no good reason.  Disgruntled.

I don't have a problem with it Bonita, but I'm starting a new one over here if it dies over there.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

Down 2 at my weigh in yesterday.  I was hoping for me, but over 50 means slooowwwww weight loss. Just a little over 3 weeks left in the Biggest Loser, I'd like to make it an even 15 by then, but I think that is going to be very very hard to do.

I have been logging all of my food and exercising almost every day. I don't know what I can do to make the weight come off any easier.. and I can fluctuate up 3-4 lbs a day for no reason.

Last night was not good.. I went to the cougartown viewing party that I had tickets too and my friend and I split a very small veggie brickoven pizza.. (I had only two small pieces and she ate the rest) and got calamari (fried)...and I had a glass of wine.. It was not that volumnious so moving forward today.

I do know I have not been diligent with my water drinking so maybe if I step that up the weight will come off a bit easier.

See, this actually sounds like you did really well, to me. Sure, fried calamari are not health food, but they are real food and you were out. As long as you don't do this often, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Yeah, well.. I did have to eat.. And there were no better options.. I kind of knew yesterday was going to be an off day since we had a work breakfast too.. I forgot to mention I have some ice cream as well. But it is life and it is what it is and what it is not, is an excuse to be off all weekend. I am going away overnight to night and will also be confronted by hotel/restaraunt/diner foor and I have to make good choices.. I'm not in a "maintain" phase.. I have to come through for my team!

I hope the thread doesn't die over here! I am a minimal poster here I know, but this thread is helping me keep my focus.

MOS, I wouldn't fret too much over the one night.  Of course you want to "come through for the team", but this is also life and you are doing this for the long haul so you want to have stamina. I think your choices were fine, really it is all about portion control anyway.

I am finding that wine is a huge calorie suck for me. I love a nightly glass but it adds up too much. So, I am thinking of switching to a vodka and lime with soda or something along those lines for my non work night cocktail. Other than that, I am really pretty focused still.  My COW brought candy in for the office and I can *this close* to having a reese's yesterday afternoon out of boredom and because it was there. I walked to steps with it in my hand and turned around and tossed it back into the basket. I saved the cal's for my wine I guess!
Also, I pulled my name of the HIIT signup list. A couple of reasons. 1. It is 50$ extra on top of my gym membership and we have our trip coming up I would rather have it for. 2. Now that I am feeling better, and starting to feel strong again I am in the  *danger zone* for me. I tend to push myself hard (because I used to be soooo strong and resilient!) and I end up with an injury. I worry about re hurting my shoulder, even tho she said she could work around it...I KNOW me. So I will stick with Jillians and running.
I would like to get back into the pool...I think my ear is finally back to normal...so I will go next Tuesday am.

I hope every one has a good day today.  :)  It is raining here so no outdoor family run with the dogs for us unless it stops soon.

So, phase one of the weekend-of-food down. Met my friend at restaurant option B becaus it's about 2 minutes from my park & ride and I didn't feel like driving all the way into town. (I worked from 6am to 5pm yesterday and was just beat by then) I had one glass of wine (and they do NOT overpour their very expensive glasses by even a single drop) and we "shared" a hummus plate and a plate of brussels sprouts. She also got an ahi poke plate though so I was pretty much on my own with the hummus plate. I ate all the pita (maybe 2 pitas) and most of the hummus/tapenade/red pepper. It was maybe 2-3 tbs of each. So, not terrible. Plus some of the sprouts- which were doused in brown butter... but sooooo goood. The wait staff was trying to shoo us out (we often have 3-4 hour dinners, she and I) so eventually we took the hint and headed to the mexican place next door. I didn't have a single chip. Wasn't even tempted. I had a beer (a pint) at that place. Another friend joined us at the second bar. I nursed my beer all night (they each had at least 4 drinks). I *was* tempted to stop at the ben & jerry's scoop shop next door but I resisted temptation and told myself I would make somethign sweet when I got home, if I still felt like I needed it.  Turns out, I was over it by the time I got home.

Back down to .2lb higher than my lowest weight today. The hormone puffiness has finally subsided. I am 3lbs from my goal for wednesday so seems unlikely I'll hit it. Whatever. If can manage to lose another 1-2lbs by then, I will be absolutely thrilled as that will put me at 13-14lbs for 8 weeks. If I can lose another 10-15lbs in the next 8 weeks I'll be at my goal.

Phase two is set to commence in about 2 hours. Lunch with a friend and then the day at the glass museum.

Guys, I'd like to move this over to the Food forum, does anybody have any major objections to that?

No particular objections although I think that what will happen is the people who might otherwise lurk in this thread probably won't. *shrug*

I ran 4.2 miles this afternoon.... it felt really good.  There is just no way to beat a good solid run.  I did my abs and really pushed myself to feel the burn....AND I was inspired by merigayle and tried some regular style push ups.  I can do 12 !!!!   OMG that is so huge for me.  I've never been able to do ONE.  It really felt awesome and has given me an extra mojo boost.

I still have a lingering cold but it doesn't seem quite as bad.  David is coughing today so I guess they are getting the crap end of it now.

I made pancakes for breakfast with some strawberries.  We'll munch some fruit for lunch and I'm probably gonna make a curry tonight, or something chicken based.  OH, actually maybe a lemon-orzo pasta dish I saw on pinterest.

Good for you Bolloxed! You rocked your run and your push ups!

We ended up taking Hank and Dewey for a rainy run at Headwaters. It wasn't pouring so it was actually rather pleasant. Both the dogs were really happy to stretch their legs..as were we. I think we may do a Jillian workout this afternoon.

Forecast not looking good for a long run tomorrow :( (negative wind chills, ice, high winds) I went to Costco today and had a couple samples and they were DELICIOUS :D

I changed my weekend around and planned my run for tomorrow, because I thought it was going to snow last night. I figured I'd get a workout in today when I shoveled all the snow, and then by tomorrow the streets would be clear for a run.

We got no snow and I've been sitting on the couch all day!  :fiery: It had better not suck outside tomorrow.

Total lack of motivation weekend for me!  Sick all day yesterday.  Much better today but no desire to be good, so I've decided to treat myself to a weekend off.  Mexican for dinner tonight I think, after a movie.  There will be wine and maybe chocolate too. Who knows?  Thanks to VeriZon no Internet service until Monday.   :grr:

My running partner says she'll meet up with me tomorrow (though she is infamous for cancelling last minute) she is my only hope to muster thru the temps tomorrow. Gotta locate those fleece lined tights!
