If I ever...EVER...mention making a fondant covered cake (or 3!!) again would someone please slap me!?  It is so frustrating and is taking all day.
I also made chocolate buttercream frosting - super yummy, but still....  I'm gonna be too sick of the damn thing to enjoy it.

I have been getting a workout from kneading all morning, and last night, so that's got to count for something.  Ideally I'll get a run in, but there is laundry to be done, gifts to wrap, dishes to wash, and probably another several hours of cake work.  I still have the head cold.

Good luck, Bolloxd! Your post is pretty much the reason I buy the cake for Reid's birthday. I'm not a very good baker to begin with - trying to make a nice cake for his birthday would send me over the edge with stress. And I'd eat all the frosting before it ever got on the cake.

Ha!  DH and I had no issue with it at all, just depends!

We didn't have any issue with the cauliflower either. But... we eat a lot of cruciferous veg anyway (including lots of cauliflower) so not a huge surprise.

If I ever...EVER...mention making a fondant covered cake (or 3!!) again would someone please slap me!?

Ugh. Cake making is not a favorite activity of mine. It's one of those things that people make look easy- but it's not!

I had a most excellent run this morning followed by an apple with peanut butter and blackberries for breakfast.
I am really feeling pretty good.

And I signed up for HIIT yesterday.... It starts Feb 14th. :yikes:

Good luck with that cake, bolloxd!! I am definitely not a baker. It's easier just to make cupcakes from a box. :P Though, a couple of years ago, I can make really good lemon shortbread! I made them (in shape of a heart... awwww) for Valentine's day!

I was happily 2lbs down this morning! I love that I've lost more weight AFTER the wlc than during... ah well. Losing is what matters. I didn't watch the superbowl so no snacks there. I did have a beer with my post long run pizza, though. It was oh so yummy, too.

No exercise today after yesterday's run. I am going for a pedicure, though. :)

I did something different for my run this morning.  Since winter has relegated me to the treadmill, I usually find a movie on TCM or something to watch to keep my mind busy while I run X miles.

Lately though, my mind has been spinning so much that I a) only half watch the movie and b) think about all of the work stuff I have to do right now, leading to c) convincing myself that I am either too tired to go on or that I *need* to get off the treadmill after 20 or 30 minutes because I have to get back to work.

This morning, I simply went to the gym, threw my sweatshirt over the display, and ran until the treadmill automatically shut off (1 hour).  I watched a little TV but mostly either ran in silence or without music.

I don't know why but it felt different.  Probably won't do it this way all the time but...simply knowing that I have an hour set aside--no matter what--for the run made the difference today.

Is anyone setting new goals? I think I'm going to shoot for 130 by 4/1. That feels very doable and not too much of a stretch, if I continue on my current trajectory. We'll see.

I can't even imagine weighing 130. That's a wild dream for me.

I'm shooting for consistent morning exercise by March 1.

I'm shooting for 130, but there's no way I'll be there by 4/1 short of amputation.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

Hell, I'm not even shooting for 130 as my final goal, and there's *still* no way I'd get to my number by 4/1 short of amputation.

I would love to be down 10 lbs by end of March, but a girl can dream, right? I have not had a great day, not awful, just snacking too much instead of good meals.
