Couldn't/doesn't that also link to leptin resistance?

Re: muscles, isn't it also because dieting can cause them to become fat adapted- slow twitch vs fast twitch?  That's not entirely a bad thing, I remember having discussions with either Looney or Droopy about using diet to better fat adapt muscles for ultras.

If they can be fat adapted, can't they be switched back through appropriate training?

I don't think they have pinned down the cause.

I know nothing about the second part of your statement but it doesn't sound right to me. I would have to look up some studies.

Sunday was cold and Saturday she just wanted to go to the playground and run at the track. She made it 2/3 mile and was one :D she is almost four, can't force her to get in. That can turn into a nightmare.

We reached a point where J wouldn't get in anymore.  I hope you're not at that point yet but if you are then your DH will just need to help a bit more.

Umm, I *might* be known for getting hangry 0:)

how old was she when she stopped? We have gone thru phases where she wants to go in then does not want to go in, but then down the road changes her mind and asks to go in. I think she wants to run herself now, but she did not go for the, why don't you sit in the stroller and you can run down our street at the end? LOL! I thought she would be good for atleast a mile at the park, but we only madei t 2/3.

Around 3ish. The "I can do it myself" phase kicked in hard then. After that she'd only get in for rare occasions and not for long.

so i guess i should be happy we made it this far, as she turns four in May.  :'( She wanted to go a month ago, so hoping it was just an off weekend.

when i was running my race 2 weeks ago, a guy pushing a double jogging stroller (up the hill!) started running with me. He was a marathoner and was asking me all these questions about running 100 miles. he was like, how does it work? i said, well, it is 8 loops of 12.5 miles. He said, no no, like HOW do you do this? LOL. but i was like, SHIT! you are pushing TWO kids up a hill!!!!  :bow2:

Mine too! She started walking at 10 months and would NEVER sit in the stroller once she was mobile. Not for a minute.

I have a physical on Monday.  :panic: :pissed: I hate getting weighed!
Ever since I was an overweight kid, being weighed freaks me out.

I'm fit, strong, and healthy.
However, I am fluffier than when I last went to the doc.
 :skeered:
I don't wanna get weighted....simply put, I'm paranoid over numbers on the scale.

Just venting.

Carry on.

Meri,
I did that once, years ago, with a different clinic.
I could try it again, I suppose.
Or just suck it up and admit I am a plump middleagedrecreationaljogger.

True dat!  We had a nurse come to the house for life insurance physicals last week, and the scale he brought definitely weighed "heavier" than my normal bathroom scale (which I step on once in a blue moon).  Plus, I was fully clothed for the life insurance physical, so perhaps that added a tad bit of weight...but when I saw the number I was like wha-wha-whaaaat???  :panic:

I know, I'm about 10 lb heavier than pre-kid, and I just can't get that weight to move (in fairness, I'm not trying as hard as I could be; but I'm also not eating THAT differently than I used to)...
