I know, right?!?  I've been bad for the last few days and feeling it.  I feel huge, too, but it does have to do with the snacking.    meri

We made a thunder run down to Trader Joe's (over an hour away) on Saturday and got their 100 calorie chocolate bars as nighttime snack.  I'm actually not a huge sweet dessert person but this usually does it for me.  I ate a bit too much potato at dinner time, but at least I haven't eaten any other snacks tonight.

austerity starts NOW  :d

Trader Joe's opens up in SLC one month from tomorrow!  I am beyond excited, Kenyan totally makes fun of me for my love of Trader Joe's.

well, I was hungry when I went to Costco and I may have binged on produce. But, otoh, this program involves a fuckofalot of veggies, so ill probably make a good dent in the pile.

Veggie dogs and a salad for dinner. Day1 was a success! It really helps to already be out of the habit of booze, and carbs, and sweets...mostly.

I also made a big batch of applesauce to freeze and eat with my am yogurt.

Day 2 off to a good start. Already finished off one giant tumbler of water and had my breakfast toast. I actually measured out the 1tsp portion of pb and jam today and found that I was using less than I'm allowed. I have an apple I can snack on in a little while, if I'm hungry, which was meant to be part of my breakfast... but I might just wait until snack #1, which is yogurt & homemade apple sauce (yum!).

Lunch is black bean soup, plus a cheese & veggie sandwich (I got some of those "flat out" bread thingies someone here seemed to like)... and my apple if I don't eat it. Not sure about dinner yet or afternoon snack yet. Maybe a bean burrito with sauteed veggies and a salad. Need to grab a few more things at the grocery store tonight.

The major difference this time around is that I'm working out. Last time I wasn't. I remember Diabolita had a hard time on this plan while she was running... so I'll have to keep an eye on that. Mostly I think I will need to make sure I actually eat all my calories. This plan does a good job of controlling hunger and I find that one of the more challenging aspects is actually eating all the meals and snacks. I do find I do a little better with eating everything if I eat my morning and afternoon snacks together in the afternoon.  So, I might decide to make those changes later, and that might also help me follow the plan and keep up my running, but for now I'm trying to follow the plan.

I also no longer have regular access to a scale... so I'll just have to weigh myself periodically when I'm at the house. Not ideal because I can't do the consistent "first thing in the morning" weight... but that's ok.

Throw them away!!!!

I say that, and it's a great idea, but I can't do it.

I bought a bag of candy on my last business trip. I only at a few pieces and then I found myself eating a few pieces each evening. I decided that I needed to go back on my diet, so even though I didn't *want* them, I went ahead and finished the rest of the bag. Because, I can't throw candy away, and DD doesn't need to eat it either.

I had TDaP and Flu. I cannot think of any other reason why I was so tired.

Heh, they aren't my stash.  They are the office stash, in the candy bowl.  I don't even care that they are probalby germ covered since it's a common candy bowl.  I fucking love those little suckers.

I hope you make it home ok, RA.

I just ate a bunch of bread, manchego and brie for dinner along with a lot of snow peas.  And I'm 1/4 of the way into a bottle of Layer Cake Malbec.  And I'm playing hooky from work tomorrow to go for a late morning hike with a friend and then to a favorite Indian restaurant.  And I need to have surgery (including skin graft) next month to remove a malignant melanoma.

Life is short.  Enjoy every moment.

I always eat for an upset tummy too, and usually convince myself that something like mavncheese is just what I need!

Ugh, D, that is awful. So sorry. :( cheese and wine for dinner it is!

I managed to stay on track despite one of the roughest days I've had in a while. Drowning my sorrows in a bottle of wine sounds pretty fantastic right now.

Good for you, RA.  extra points today.  I'm sorry it was a tough one, though.  Care to talk about it?

And yes, when your physician takes a pathology sample and then leaves you a voicemail during his lunch hour two days later, it ain't ever good.  Ironically I had just set up an interface for the same pathology lab w/ one of our local clients (not my derm) the week before.  And complimented them on 2 day turn-around for cancer cases and the quality of their readings.  So when my derm left tha msg two days later I knew it wouldn't be great.  It's very superficial melanoma, so hopefully will be removed (and grafted) and no more treatment required other than 3 month surveillance for a few years.   :fingers:

Diablita, that sounds scary, but glad to hear they are so quick to get things moving forward.

I have been in the frumpy mindset lately too.  Like I can't be bothered to put in the effort anymore....to try to prevent the steep decline I've signed up for a half marathon at Myrtle Beach in February.  So, umm, I kinda need to get off my arse and start training.  DH has decided to train with me.  I may regret agreeing to that but we shall see.  He is also going to Montreal for 5 days to do some work so I'll be a single mom for a bit.   Heaven help me, and I may be crazy, but I'm planning on trying to kick off some potty training this weekend.  :panic:

It also seems I've gotten the cold everyone has had earlier in the week.  It's just started tonight with lots of drainage.   :wah:
