Wow, y'all are demonstrating some good willpower there!

I had a short nap this afternoon which helped me feel better but still rough.  We went to the airport early so the kids could watch the airplanes.  They thought it was fun but seemed to get scared with the loud noises, even though it wasn't *that* loud.  Once we got back home and settled in they asked to go to bed at 8:30...which rarely happens but I took advantage of it.  I've cleaned up the house a bit, and just surfing until I'm bored.

Once this cold is gone I'm getting back on the wagon.  I must.

I came home to a piping hot pizza and put it away (on the counter, not in me!) and ate my lentils and broccoli. I also ignored the fresh loaf of bread on the counter. This all better be worth it.

Who made it or brought it into the home, knowing that you are trying to lose weight?

Checking in on my weigh-in day...another 2 lbs down, so since the end of June I have now lost 20 lbs. I'd like to get down another 8 or 9, but I already feel pretty good about the changes I see so far.  :)

Things have been really busy this week with work - a series of 12-13 hour days left me with little or no time to run, and I even had to miss yoga last night because I really had to finish up some work before we go away for this weekend's races in PA. So I am happy about still having a loss, because the high-stress times with long days like that were always when I'd end up in the Wendy's drive-thru! Instead, this week I did manage to pack my lunch, and had a salad the day I ate at Panera. Yesterday at lunch with a colleague (who is a big-time food pusher!) I did indulge in a couple of boneless buffalo wings (but happily they were not coated in fried batter!) and a salad with cheese and a little ranch dressing, but it seems like it didn't set me back in the scheme of things because I had a light breakfast and a very small dinner (since I was still full from that big lunch). And once I had the wings, I made the choice to skip the beer. Doing the one-or-the-other decision-making seems to help me avoid going off the rails when it comes to a "cheat."

As far as cooking, I don't really have time or energy to cook much during the week, and mr. cgraz is doing the paleo diet so he brings food with him to work throughout the week - so to be successful, we have to prep on the weekend. Since we started this, we try to get set up on Sunday - grill a bunch of chicken and roast some veggies, stock up on veggies & fruit and plan which ones to cook/eat first (most perishable), and I also get things like yogurt, string cheese, unsweetened applesauce, and carrots that I can easily grab for lunches on the road.

I do use my bento boxes too! I haven't had quite the elaborate (and cute) meals packed in them, and I don't pack them all at the beginning of the week...which is what I'd like to do at some point. But they still work great to keep things organized and to help me visualize good small portion sizes. They looked small to me at first, but it is actually plenty of food! I think I used to chronically overpack lunch stuff and then feel compelled to eat it all.

i never announce that i am trying to lose weight, DH does not care to hear me whine about my weight. I did not even eat the crust DD left over! I was, however, ready to get up at 5:30am to run, but DD was up again last night and then i could not go back to sleep for HOURS until 5am. yeah, not gonna happen.

Sorry to hear that - it must be so frustrating when you really want to run and it just can't happen.

Even if you're not telling him you want to lose weight, does he know that you'd prefer not to indulge in stuff like pizza too often? I know there have been times when mr. cgraz and I try not to "sabotage" each other but it is hard. With him doing the paleo thing, he says pizza is what he misses the most and that is tough because a slice of cheese pizza is totally my "emergency" food. It is a reasonable amount of points on WW, and so I feel ok about having it when I am in a pinch (like this week). I was relieved when I showed up at home with a couple of slices at 8 pm one night this week (I was starving!) and he was on his way out to see his chiro, so he did not even smell it to be tempted! I would have felt terrible eating it in front of him.

I don't blame him at all. He keeps vegetarian at home, and he is NOT vegetarian, so he makes a lot of concessions for us. And sometimes i do eat the pizza, so he never knows.

CGraz, that is awesome! I love the feeling of those new habits becoming automatic and realizing the old choices don't even sound good anymore! That is exactly what it's all about. :) oh and congrats on the 20lb loss. That is a significant ount of weight. Nice work! That is about where I decided I was ok leaving things, but maintenance comes with its own set of challenges.

I've been Pleasantly surprised at how well this week has gone. Hoping to hop on the scale tomorrow and hope to be pleasantly surprised there too.

Oh, I wasn't blaming him! I was more saying how easy it is to accidentally tempt your spouse without meaning to. (Although in my example, I did know darn well mr. cgraz would want that pizza but I was just so hungry!)

yep. so true. He never does it on purpose and is respectful of my choices. DD is finally old enough to start to realize she is vegetarian but not everyone is and accidentally i may have made it appear that DH is vegetarian, oops. LOL. I forget what i said, but DH blames me :D It is really hard to explain to her with out traumatizing her on meat production (i would not do that) and not villianizing people who do eat meat. Luckily her school is primarily vegetarian and her BFF at school is veg too, so there is very little exposure for her to anything otherwise.

Well, that sucks... went to the dr today and not only did I get two shots (Flu and DTAP) but they weighed me and my weight (albeit, totally dressed) was the same weight I was last week. Wah!

Be prepared for the arm pain from the tdap. Mine is finally fading today but it is still swollen and hot...mine was Monday.

I was actually thinking about you today. They gave me the side effects sheets and both listed fever, and generally feeling punky as side effects. So, I'm preparing for a weekend on the couch!

I found this on pinterest and though it would fit well here.

So the kids decided to get up at 6:00 this morning...ugh.  Far earlier than usual.  I was lucky that some zyrtec knocked me out and I got some good sleep.  They've been naked all morning and done pretty well so far.  A couple of accidents from Rachel, she just didn't catch it in time... and some leaking from David... on my pillow!  So, I'll be doing some laundry.  It's my fault to let them play naked on my bed.

I put them to bed in just undies.  I expect they'll get up from their nap early and wet.  Wasn't sure what to do exactly for nap time so I'm experimenting.

I need to put together a healthy meal for us for later.

good luck with the peepees!

I went to costco and avoided ALL the samples. No joke. I need a gold medal. There were pierogies, cake, yogurt, bread and butter, cheese, spinach dip on crusty bread, chocolate something or another and so much more.

I never have myself weighed at the dr.'s office.

I can't set foot in a dr's office without them weighing me. First thing they do, regardless of what kind of doctor, it seems.

Or when you get weighed, just don't look at the number, tell the person weighing you that you don't want to know how much you weigh, and s/he will oblige.

So i am down a pound today. I have a party to go to tonight. I am not going to not eat anything, but just be really mindful about what i will eat. There will be butternut squash soup and i am bringing guacamole (i am carving a small pumpkin to look like it is puking out the guac, saw it on pinterest, lol).

Have fun merry!

I feel cruddy today. I'm blaming the shots. Beautiful day, but I know if I run it will be a disaster. So rest day #2.
