Good luck meri with the party food.
RA hope you feel better.  Maybe a walk in the nice weather will help.

Day 2 of potty training.  OK I guess but just ready to be done.  And WHY do they both have to go at the same time!?  Oh yeah, to make it a challenge.

Planning on a run during their nap.  My 2 miles yesterday were poor but expected after such a long break and a cold.

I have noticed with DH away that I'm more efficient at keeping the house relatively clean.

Have fun merry!

I feel cruddy today. I'm blaming the shots. Beautiful day, but I know if I run it will be a disaster. So rest day #2.

i can see that.

Are you doing the potty training in a weekend dealio? DD pretty much trained on her own very young, we were very lucky. I was told her using cloth diapers helped, but whatever, i am not going to question or care :D

Nice to know I am not nuts though.

Feeling a bit better this afternoon. Contemplating a run. We'll see. I'm not usually one to be sensative to shots. I wonder if it's this particular combo that's rough, or what. Either that, or it's the diptheria or pertussis piece of it that's particularly nasty. I've had tetnus and flu shots in the past and never had much more than a sore arm.

Or, maybe it's this year's flu shot. Or, again, maybe just a bad combo to do all together.

I woke up in the middle of the night with a splitting headache and my tummy all upset and then just generally have felt on and off sh1tty all day. Maybe I should take it as a rest day afterall. OTOH, maybe getting my blood pumping will move all the nasties through faster.

I ended up with a tummy ache also.

But I ran the days I felt shitty (even with a stomach ache) and I didnt feel any worse.

I am out of time today. Also, it's SUPER windy out. I can handle running in the rain but the wind kills me. I had to work a little bit this afternoon and that ended up taking prescedence. I've run or worked out for 5 of the last 7 days though, so I'm ok with it. I am not going to get the pumpkin cupcake... but probably will get roped in to pizza for dinner tonight.

I had scrambled an egg with veggies for breakfast and then made these http://urbanposer.blogspot.com/2011/07/spring-onion-rosemary-garlic-spaghetti.html and topped them with spaghetti sauce, a little parm + a salad for lunch... so still have been pretty well on track.

Phew.  I'm so glad they are in finally in bed.

They missed a nap today, so I missed my run, because mom came over *exactly* at their nap time.  I hate it when she does that, but I couldn't complain too much because she brought some supplies for me.

Meri, I'm trying my own version of training in 3 days.  Kind of just winging it while letting them run around naked/bottomless all day.  They get a diaper at nap & bed time.  There were more accidents today than yesterday and I think they're over the sticker chart I made.  At least David is.  They both refuse to poop in the toilet, which is apparently another level of training.  At least they recognize when they need to go and will tell me.

I had all these big plans of things to accomplish while DH was away.  It is not gonna happen.  At least my eating has been greatly improved the last few days...  I'm beginning to think DH is a bad influence.  But I do miss him.

bribery!!!!!

i ate ok at the party- guacamole, some burrito with out the tortilla, just the bean filling, 1 cake pop, a couple crackers and a cookie and 2 bites of cake. Compared to what was there, i did really well, and everything was small portions.

Sounds like you did well!  I cannot refuge large pieces of cake.... ever.

I am doing bribery too.  They get a sticker chart, a happy dance from me, and a choice of a small cheap toy from a collection of things I got cheap.  Trouble is they want all the toys.

yes they want all the toys! LOL.

MoS-- it started at 6, though most people did not start showing up until closer to 7:30 and poor C was passed out on the couch so DD did not get to play with her until they woke her up closer to 7:30. We left around 8:40, i was hoping to leave at 8, but K said they were doing the costume and recipe contest at 8, but you know how they are, but DD won the costume contest so we had to stay for that, the kid's division that was.

My dad just stopped by. He is a baker by trade. He brought me a beautiful, still warm, loaf of bread. I loooove his bread, but totally not on my eating plan. I was going to just gift it to a friend at work, who I know also loves his bread. But, then, he says "oh, it's an experimental loaf, let me know what you think!". So, I guess I'm eating it. I'll probably eat most of the loaf because I can't let something like that go to waste. Turns out it's fantastic! Lots of yummy grains that got all toasted on the outside. Yuuuuum!

But, really, the reason bread isn't "on plan" for me is that it causes swings in bloodsugar, which lead to over eating. I am feeling pretty good about things and don't think I'll go off the deep end, so it should be fine.

Vegetable soup (well I added a bit of beef for my husband but otherwise its all veggie) and warm bread for dinner followed by apple crisp. I cannot wait! I LOVE soup.

RA & MM, both of those sound fantastic.  Yum.

My eating has been good up until this evening.  I'm hitting PMS territory.  The kids didn't nap again today which makes it difficult for me to get anything very productive done - like a run.  I did tidy up the deck and bring in some plants since it's getting too cold for some of them.

Potty training is going pretty good.  R didn't have any accidents today and D had one....and it was funny.  They were in their room when I heard R yell 'David you're peeing! David you're peeing!'  He replies 'Oh no! Mommy I pee!'   They both helped clean it up and aren't too concerned about stickers/toys anymore so I think it's sinking in.   :fingers:  They don't even like going in their diapers for naps/bedtime and ask for the toilet instead of just using the diaper.

Good weekend for running but bad weekend for eating! We were at the RW Half Marathon & Festival - my sister ran her first half, and mr. cgraz did the hat trick (5K & 10K on Saturday, half on Sunday). I did the 5K and ran well, so I was happy - but I think I ate as if I was doing the half! Lasagna, bagels - oy! I didn't track much because we were eating out, so I'll try to piece it together today and then just keep it on track for the rest of the week.

And surprise! My period came 3 days early, gah. Which is annoying because I'm usually like clockwork, but good because (a) it didn't come any earlier which would have been inconvenient this past weekend, (b) I have a huge workshop that I'm running on Weds and if I felt like crap that day would be rough, and (c) it will be over by this coming weekend, and we have another weekend away that includes a 5K in costume on Sunday, so I will be glad not to be dealing with it then either.

So, I look on the bright side that I got any PMS cravings out of the way with the weekend's crazy eating, and I can move on and deal with it today and tomorrow, and then get on with my busy self.

MM I love soup, too and this time of year always makes me love it even more. And glad you could enjoy the bread without feeling like it opened the door to overeating, RA.

Bolloxd, that is great that they are catching on. Potty training seems like it can be so stressful (and can cause a lot of extra laundry!) but that sounds like a lot of progress in a few days.

Hope everybody else had a good weekend.

oooh MM that is a great gift!

RA- eat some, freeze the rest.

Cgraz-- i did not know you were running that race, MoS was there. I regret not running it, i just could not plan that far in advance. I am sure it was a class act, i ran their old half years ago (where i have my PR!) and it was just a great event with the course, course support and entertainment and post race food.

Yeah, MoS and I exchanged messages, but we were both there with groups of people and things were hectic, so we did not get to connect. Sounds like she had a great race though! (See her thread in Running about it...) It really was a great venue and very well-organized. We loved it!

ETA...my mind is still blown by the hat trick - over 800 people did it! That is a lot of running in one weekend!
