So I am trying to be REALLY good about food this week. I feel really fat and unattractive and only want to wear hoodies. I also do not want DH to touch me. It is really bad. Not sure what the hell is going on, but the number on the scale ain't great either :( I actually stopped eating my lunch when i felt the first "full" feeling, whereas i would usually finish what i portioned out for myself as it is already portioned. Ugh. I hope I snap out of this.

Oh meri, I'm sorry.

I am in the same place this week though, kind of. I'm feeling disgusted with myself for having gained 7lbs...even though my low was attained unreasonably... and 7lbs is probably not bad considering how I lost it, there have been 2 business trips in the past 3 weeks, and my overall loosey-goosey approach to eating lately.

So, today is day 1. Except, I have lunch with a friend. I've convinced her to go here (http://www.specialtys.com/2012/) with me for lunch. They are sort of like panera, except way better- but their soups and salads are decent caloriewise. So, I'll probably get a soup, toss the roll and come back and eat the sandwhich I packed after lunch.

My plans is to start over with phase1 of the i-diet-except not totally lambaste myself if I end up eating out a meal or two (and try and keep it reasonable when I do). The big things will be no booze, no candy, and if I am not eating out- eating something off the phase 1 menu.

So, wish me luck!

Started the day with 1 slice of sprouted wheat/high fiber bread with 1tsp of pb and 1ts p of jam and half an apple. About to eat my snack of 2/3 cup of 2% yogurt, 1tsp of jam and 6 almonds. Lunch in an hour. Dinner will probably be two veggie dogs +sauteed onions, peppers, and a salad. DD has her counseling appointment at 4pm and we still have grocery shopping to do, which means dinner will be late- that is the big danger zone for me!

good luck to you too :) I have not tasted DD's mac n cheese yet :D That is a big one. I have a halloween party to go to Saturday and that is going to be tough. Ugh. I feel like i could make excuses until New Year's if i tried. I actually got asked to pace for the Atlantic City marathon this weekend and said no. I am just feeling way too fat. I have plans, but if i was not feeling so fat and out of shape, i would have totally jumped on that opportunity.

That is very true. I made excuses for YEARS before I finally decided to really change things. I mean, you're in a really different spot than I was... but there is always an excuse lurking right around the corner. I started losing weight a few days before christmas last time and managed to survive. ;) But, I also know that if I don't nip it in the bud NOW it's a slippery, slippery slope that will land me right back where I started in no time flat.

The two big times in my life i lost a big chunk of weight, one was starting right before Thanksgiving, and the other was about the same time of year as well. LOL. I did just finish the rest of my lunch after DD went to sleep, BUT that is in lieu of looking for ADDITIONAL food to eat once she goes to sleep.
I eat really well, i do not overeat, but for some reason my body just hates me! I need to cut out all refined products. I know this, but it is so hard. I love to bake, and even if it is healthy baked stuff, it is still flour, albeit whole wheat, and sugar, even raw sugar or agave or brown rice syrup. It is really hard with a toddler who always wants to bake with me and make brownies, etc. I make black bean flourless ones, but still there is sugar in them. I just have to stay focused and motivated. I think I also need to wake up at 5:30am, but something always gets in the way of that!!! But really, i need to work on that, i felt a lot better when i did that, no missed workouts and i was able to do 2 a days many days a week.

This stuff was much easier when i lived by myself :D

Meri- you are the most disciplined person I know. It is terribly unfair that you should be so disciplined and yet struggle so mightily.  :-\

I agree :D :D :D There is no rhyme or reason to my body and it's willy nilly weight gain :D I know when i was eating macrobiotic 100% i lost weight, felt great, etc, but I also spent 2-3 hours a day cooking. I don't even have time to shower some days!!!! LOL. But I am trying to get back to some of those basics, like miso soup before every meal, including breakfast. I think this helps in many ways, first it is filling and almost no calories, and second, it gets your stomach ready for the food and promotes digestion etc. The latter is why it is recommended prior to every meal. Breakfast, as usual is always my toughest meal of the day. This morning I had miso soup and left over tempeh loaf. I have to just realize that i have to eat non breakfasty foods for breakfast and move on :D When I did the macrobiotics i ate steamed rice with gomasio on top (a mixture of sesame seeds and sea salt). Seriously. Every morning. With miso soup. The diet is a bit bland, what can i say? :D

Oh and now i am going to die from the arsenic in the rice.... i cannot win :D :D :D

Hey, any diet that starts the day with gomasio, rice, and miso soup is ok by me!

I survived lunch with my friend. I had a cup of vegan chili. When I get hungry in a bit I'll eat my sandwich and apple. I brought black bean soup today so I'm really not too far off from what I'd planned anyway. I resisted the hunk of focaccia that was on my tray. My friend ate it for me so then I didn't have to feel guilty about tossing it. It's fresh, warm, and sooooooo good there. But, so was the lasgna I had for dinner last night... and I really can't have it all and not gain. So, no to the bread.  :d

mmmmm fresh bread is the best. So hard to resist! If i was on a deserted island and could only pick three foods, one would be bread and butter! I love it that much. I have no idea what dinner is going to be. I will figure it out soon i guess. I saw a recipe for a millet sweet potato casserole.
