In other news... I think I'm ready to start excercising again. DD and I went on a long walk last night. Maybe we'll do that again tonight. I'd like to start running but I ended up not updating the music on my phone last night so I don't have anything to run to... and I am definitely not one ofthose people that can run without music!

RA-- aren't we your virtual counselors? :D Tell him you see Dr Yammerers.

It's been a while since I checked in, but I need to get back to eating better too.  I'm not doing horrible, but it will add up if I don't get it back in check.  I think it's just having a beer every night or eating larger portions than I had been eating.  Either way, I need to do something.

RA - that is so great about your DDs school.
Meri - Good luck on the refinancing.

Everyone is so inspiring to me, even when you struggle, it means I'm not alone and we all face lows and highs with our goals.  I think now that summer is over, I feel like I can be more lax, but that is NOT the case.

Gah. The freaking smoke alarm went off at midnight last night. I can't believe it didn't wake Reid up, but it took us 30 minutes to look at it, verify that it doesn't actually have freakin' battteries, put it back together, and go back to bed.

I'm exhausted.

I hate that, Debba.  Doesn't it know that it's supposed to wait for the Daylight Savings change to run out of batteries?

Day One of Austerity Measures Revisited is done.  Day Two in progress.  I had a bit of toast with cheese and a half pint of blueberries.  Still very hungry...

Oh, the best part? The goddamn thing doesn't *have* batteries. It's wired into the house somehow. WTF???

Needless to say, my plan to drag out of bed and walk didn't happen. Hmph.

Okay, I'm contemplating some changes. Not dropping running altogether, necessarily, but I'm frustrated by my lack of progress (my own fault, I know). I'm thinking about doing videos for a while. I should be able to do them on the back porch, even. If any of my neighbors decide to spy on me at 5 AM, well... that's their problem, and they will be filled with regret.

I have TaeBo (and love it, honestly), and an Ashtanga yoga video.

Any other suggestions? How do people feel about Jillian and the whole 30-day Shred thing?

I was going to say Jillians shred, it is HARD!

so the refi is not looking good for closing tomorrow :( we need this document by 3pm and the people we need it from will never ever expedite anything and anytime you call or they need something from you, your form goes to the back of the line. Sigh. I may actually vomit i am so upset from all of this. It is such a ridiculous process and in the end, we are going to get screwed. I feel like we always get screwed. This refi would make the difference between almost making ends meet and actually making them meet most months $600/month! ARGH!!!! I think this company we are dealing with is violating HARP and I do need to do some research because HARP was set in place by Obama to make refinancing easier, but this is just absurd.  :incazzato:

Oh, meri, that sucks about the refi. I hope it works out!!!

And yeah, I've heard good stuff about Jillian's Shred, but I'm already hitting the gym with the trainer 2x per week, so I don't want to hurt myself. That's my only hesitation.

Meri- the refi merry-go-round is insane.  They always want one more document, and when you point out you've given it to them it turns out they lost it.

Debba, have you considered cutting out sugar?  I find that works when nothing else will get numbers moving on the scale.  This week I've gotten absolutely draconian about sugar and grains.

I did a whole hour of Zumba last night for the first time since the accident.  I was a little sore this morning, but nothing Aleve can't handle.

Mini, that's a good idea, too, but I've been an absolute slug when it comes to exercise lately, so I think that's my first step. If that doesn't work, then yes, more dietary tweaks will be needed.  :sigh:

Oh Meri, I'm so sorry about the refi. It shouldn't be that hard. We did one a few weeks ago, and it was super-easy. But we have had the same mortgage broker for 15 years or so, that probably helps.

I gained a pound this week. Oh well.

we have a complicated mortgage situation from when we bought our house (can we say slightly shady mortgage practices?) and if i only knew then what i know now..... but we did not know and trusted everyone. Anywho, it just lends to a lot more paperwork and this one company has been a thorn in our side. Good news, kinda, is that we don't have to get the paper by today at 3 (which has passed) but if we get it tomorrow, we should be good to close on Thurs or Friday and be ok. It has just been a real frustrating situation for all involved and I am looking forward to it hopefully coming to an end with a refi and i will buy those mortgage brokers something awesome, like a fruit bouquet, LOL! They have worked so hard for us for so many months.

 meri.  I'm sure it's maddening.

Have I mentioned how much we love this soup?

we eat it w/ a touch of sea salt and some shredded cheddar melted on top

My DD LOVES it.  She'll eat it every night.  And me too.  It makes austerity measures so much easier.

I want to try that soup...

My refinancing was super easy.  Good luck.  When you are finished, check at the registry of deeds that a discharge was filed for you.  It can be a problem if there isn't one, and it's often forgotten.

Day 3 of no sugar, no grain and daily 1-hour zumba workouts.  I've gotten back into doing pushups/pullups, and it hurts like a mofo.  But I am certain that if I stick with it, I'll be at my goal weight before Christmas.

Mini, did you buy the full zumba set? I'm super-curious about it.

For anyone who has done 30 day shred - do you have to have weights to do it? If so, how heavy? Despite my fat, I'm reasonably strong thanks to the training sessions and a 30-lb toddler.

Debba, you do need some handweights for it.  I think I used 5 lbs when I did it.  I thought that would be too light, but when I tried 8 lbs it was too much.  But that was before any weight lifting, so you'd probably be ok with 8-10 lbs.  You do a lot of reps, if I remember right.
