It's not strep, which is good, but it's "just" a virus, which means I have to ride it out. Awesome. The fever broke last night, I just feel like I've been stomped on by a herd of elephants. I'm going back to bed.

Seriously, how does my body know these things? I make all these goals and it's like, "Hell no, biatch! You're going to get sick now so you stay off track and stay fat! None of this skinny shit for you!"

Debba, be kind to yourself when you're sick! Note that being kind does not involve Reese's or watchamacallits (I totally didn't know that was a thing also. The things I learn here).  ;)

RA, does it make more sense to buy a belt rather than drive 50 miles to find the one you have? I'm sorry you have to go through all this stress.

I was on my own for dinner last night, so I made a sandwich (which is what I always do when DH doesn't cook). Nice bread, with leftover hanger steak, greens, an heirloom tomato and ancho mayonaise. It was gooooood! And I had my favorite drink du jour with it: oj, ice and blueberries, blended. So really a smoothie, but no dairy so not as filling.

Now that it's finally getting cooler again, I'm giving some thought to running. I haven't run in weeks. This year so far has been a total bust. Bad VPoT.

I found the belt.

DD and I had a lovely evening. We walked to the grocery store to pick up jam making supplies. Then we made dinner and relaxed in the backyard. I was too tired to make Jam yesterday though so we'll probably do it tonight. It's supposed to be 90 today though!

ok mommas, here is a question, let me know if you think i overeacted, lol.

So DH has a sweet tooth and will basically hoover sweet things from the house. All the time he eats things that i bring home for DD as a treat. Well, a patient of mine brought me a box of beautifully decorated italian cookies for Zoe. THere were butterflies, fish, flowers, and cupcakes (on the cookies). Well all yesterday she talked about how she was looking forward to eating the cupcake cookie and after school we looked at the two cupcake shaped cookies and she was asking me what the blue one would taste like and how she could not wait to eat it. So anywho, while she was in her bath, DH ate almost the entire box of cookies. I caught him eating one of the last ones and saw he ate all the cupcake ones. He got really upset at me when i got really upset with him. We just had a discussion abotu it on the phone and he just does not understand that if there is food in the house, it is common courtesy to ask if anyone was planning on eating it before eating it all. he was like, don't bring home a whole box of cookies and tell me not to eat them. i was like, i am not saying that, but if you asked, i would have said eat them all except the blue cupcake one and it would not have been a problem. ugh. and the bakery is too far away from either of our works to replace it :( I also told him i am the one who is always making up excuses on where her food went and dealing with the tears.

am i wrong?

Nope, I'd also expect him to explain it to her.

He can't understand why his toddler daughter is upset that she didn't get the cookie she was looking forward to all day??

He can't behave like a responsible adult and not eat an entire box of cookies that are on the counter for a few hours?

He needs to grow the hell up and start acting like man and a father.

This happens in our house too but only I end up missing out. It frustrates me. We had an entire box of ice cream bars and I got one and then they were magically gone.

Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed off about that too... let him do all the explaining AND he can go get her more cookies AND he can apologize to her and to you.

I can see his side of not wanting to ask about having to eat food in the house but if it is a special treat, like these were, then he should at least politely offer some to you & DD.

I'd say, well Zoe, go ask Daddy why he ate your cupcake cookie.

Come on dude.  I'm a power binger, and even I would have thought to perhaps see if anyone else wanted some of the special cookies, especially if I had a kid.

well she does not know it is gone yet, i distracted her last night and this morning we left early for a play date. I may be able to get to the bakery and get some, but i really do not want to drive 45 minutes out of my to get them. I think she can just deal, but he has to explain to her. I did not overreact, right? and you know how she has the Panera box at school on Wednesdays? often i bring her home cookies or brownies or something and he will often eat them that night after we go to bed. Half the time she forgets, the other half she remembers and i have to calm her down and tell her daddy ate them  :eyeroll:  i wonder if there is a closer place that has something similar?

oh and i got on the TM, half ran/walked and have RAGING cramps. I am going to die. LOL.

well it is not "hers" perse, and she is not going to eat a whole box of cookies, but to eat them all????????? Well, there were two little ones left in the box, but sheesh. I do not label stuff, but there should be some common sense, no? I got in a fight with him on the phone today and was like, you live with two other people, it is not a free for all, please just ask, common courtesy. He gets very defensive about everything then usually is like, oh you were right.  :eyeroll:

I meant when you bring her stuff home from the Panera box and then he eats it and she cries.  Why has this happened more than once is my question.   He kind of sounds like an ass.

Meri,

In my mind you are not wrong at all.  I think part of living with another person is making sure that you respect each other's boundaries and look out for each other.  In the kitchen, it means not eating all the food or respecting when something is a favorite food/special food for one of the people living there.  I can't imagine eating all of something that I know my DH likes.

And as a parent I think you want the best for your child.  So if there is a special food in the house for my DD, I want her to have it.  I'd never eat her cupcake, for example.  And I'd be pissed if DH did.  But frankly, DH would never do that either.  If there's a food that he knows Jessica loves, he'll enjoy getting to see her eat it.

No an ass, an only child who was never made to share anything ever with anyone. This is an ongoing issue. He has a really bad sweet tooth. You know how some of us have binges? he does too, on sweets and will eat everything sweet in the house. And sometimes i bring stuff home for both of them, he just needs to ask and i need to be more clear that it is for her and what is for him.

I think i know DD so much better and interact with her so much more (i only work PT, for example), that I know that she wanted that cookie and when i told him how she had been talking about it he got really upset. I am going to stop by a bakery MoS suggested at the Wegmans on my way into work (which i should have left for like 30 minutes ago......) and see what they have and get her something. I googled Italian bakeries and none made these cookies :( I am like an hour from this place unfortunately.
