I've been lurking but have really lost the mojo since getting back from the beach, followed immediately by time of month blahs.  I haven't ran in far too long and even though I know it will make me feel better I'd rather curl up and nap.  Eating sucks - plain & simple.

I need someone/something to kick my ass back into gear.
I am on the same page as you, and Tricia. I am hit and miss with y eating, ad I haven't exercised consistently in weeks.  It is difficult to get back that mojo!

I did manage to go to step yesterday, and I was glad (always am) to move.  We also went to Moonstone beach Saturday with the dogs and SUP to try surfing the waves on it.  Needless to say...I need to practice. It looks so easy, and of course it s not. We had fun, though....and the dogs had a great time stretching their legs and running.

I meet with my trainer today after work for lifting. I will bring my food to work and try to eat only what I bring. Simple plan to follow.

eta:  I am intrigued by that veggie shredder.  I love thinly shredded/curled carrots and beets in my salads.

Somehow, this morning, the scale was right back where it was when I left for vacation. :w00t: I'll take it.

Meri, I can't wait to hear what you think of that gadget!  I have this apple peeler/corer thingy from pampered chef, which is ok, except for it's all metal, and it's rusted in places.  I used it to make curly fries, too.  It's hard to clean, tho, so I rarely use it.

I just heard of the Yonana (I think)...  apparently you use it to make a fro-yo like substance out of frozen bananas.  FitbottomedGirls.com had it on there, and they are usually pretty good for recommendations.  It seems a lot smaller than my food processor, which you can apparently use for the same thing.  My FP is a giant pain in the ass, so I rarely use it.  In fact, the only thing I think I've used it for is pizza dough.  Weird.  I'd like something smaller/easier to clean that I can use to slice up veggies really thin, potatoes especially.

I swear, I just read something about freezing banana slices and then pulsing them in the food processor to make something fro-yo-like.

Apparently "banana fro-yo" is a thing.  Like, everyone on the interwebs knows about it.  Except for me, which is weird since I'd kick a baby in the face* for ice cream most of the time.

*not really, I swear I don't kick babies

You'd kick Reid sometimes, or you'd want to, and in those moments, I totally wouldn't blame you. He can be a giant shit at times. :D

i have been eating frozen banana yogurt for about 20 years :D a vegan place in Philly served them ages ago. LOL. I have looked at Yonana and debated it, but it got really bad reviews and you need to let the frozen bananas thaw a little before using it. I use my magic bullet with a little soy or almond milk (preferably chocolate.......) to get it blended. I am too lazy for the food processor for that. LOL.

I wonder if I could use my regular blender/mason jar combo.  I have some overripe bananas at home, maybe I"ll toss them in the freezer and try it!

interesting.  I am trying to resist buying 5 new gadgets now.  :d
I do actually have a thing that peels and turns the apples and potatoes into spirals.  I bought it at an apple orchard last year.  DD loves the apples with honey (inspired by Rosh Hashanah).

I made brocolette for dinner.  Interesting cross between broccoli and kale.  I roasted a couple heads of garlic last night and cooked the brocolette with one of them -- so delicious.

I gave myself a stern talking to today. We've been moving and dd and dh were out of town and blah blah blah. I kept saying "monday I get back to work". And then monday would come and I hadn't gone shopping and I didn't have anything for lunch or snacks... and well, you know. I did pretty decently in terms of sticking to a purcahsed salad and adding in a greek yogurt (of course, they don't cary plain at the deli downstairs) or two hardboiled eggs for a snack. But then I'd go out to dinner with a friend or worked on leftover pizza, or whatever. Oh, and we had a big bbq and people brought SO much beer, so I was treating myself with a beer (or 2 or 3) every night while unpacking and so on and so forth.

So. Today. Even though I was tired and just wanted to go home and make myself ramen (naughty!) and still have so much to do. And even though our annual horse show is this weekend and Fri- Sun will be a complete bust. And even though next friday I have a wedding to go to and we're having family over for dinner and so on and so forth. Even THOUGH all of that, I realized that I had really crossed a line today at lunch when I told myself I was really sucking at this diet thing and so I'd just get back on the diet next week and I might as well have a baked frriggin potato with sour cream and cheese on it for lunch. I realized I had crossed a line and that I needed to fix it NOW before it gets out of hand. Because I didn't lose 20lbs by making those kinds of excuses and by "I'll be better tomorrow". So, I stopped at the grocery store and picked up stuff to make a stir fry, and for lunch tomorrow, and several dinners, and so forth and then I came home and cooked it and ate it and lunch for tomorrow is already packed.  :fiery: So, today I get back on track. And, yes, there will be some meals that won't be perfect- but I'm determined to not undo everything.

So, that's my update.

Carry on.

RA, good for you! Stopping the slide is one of the hardest things to do, I think.

Eating is okay - we made chicken tostadas last night and I think the tostadas and maybe the chicken (it was rotisserie from the store) had some extra sodium, because I'm up about half a pound this morning, but that's really not too bad and can be overcome with water.

Now if I could just get myself out of bed to workout. I was going to, and then I woke up at 4 for no reason, dozed back off, and then Reid woke up at 4:20 or so, and... yeah. It was all over. I almost slept through the 6 AM alarm. :nono:

There's always tomorrow!

...which might be part of the problem, since I can always manage to put something off until "tomorrow." Hmmmm.

And good morning, Jessica!

First of all, glad to see you drawing your line in the sand, RA.  It's always a good time and don't be so hard on yourself.  I also think it's good for our bodies to have some fluctuation and good for will-power to not always be used to the maximum.

debba, I hear you.  Fingers crossed tonight is a better sleep night and you can get in your workout tomorrow am.  I have lunch plans with a friend (vs. usual run @ lunchtime) so DH is going to pick up J from school later so that I can run after work.  (at least, that's the plan)

So Jessica got to school this morning and immediately told her teacher "I saw a spaghetti monster on the computer this morning"

Thanks, diablita! Yeah, I can't do the lunchtime thing, sadly. AM is pretty much my only option.

That's hilarious about Jessica. Any time Reid sees the smilies, he's like, "WHAT IS DAT? MOMMY! WHAT IS DAT?" And then we have to go through every.single.smilie.

*sigh*

Off to start assembling things in the crockpot for tonight's dinner before I dash off to work.

Eating DFCs, wishing it was cookies instead of carrots.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

She's an awful, awful human being.

I tend to trust Mini on these issues

yep.

not feeling motivated to run today. feeling very tired. DD has been a handful. I also remember it took  me like a month to recover from Badwater last year. And somehow everyone at DD's preschool knows I ran it. I do not talk about it much IRL, so it was really weird to have them asking me questions and congratulating me, etc. My weight it up a smidge, but ovulation due in a couple days and i have been seeing that trend.

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who sees a gain around ovulation. I can't find any research that supports it, but... yeah.
