And kind of messy/wet while driving :D  Maybe grapes?  I bought a bunch yesterday. 

I should pack SOMETHING like that, tho.  I tend towards sunflower seeds, since you kind of have to DO something while eating them, but they are not the best choice.

for some reason, long car rides make me feel like i am running a marathon, or two. i feel the need to eat, a lot! LOL.

i eat grapes in the car all the time! and apples. though not as safe to eat apples :o

Have not heard back from dr yet :( was hoping to do bloodwork tomorrow morning, oh well. I am so tired of feeling so uncomfortable in my body.

Meri, what is going on?  Why do you need bloodwork (sorry I must have missed the post).  I saw that you are having some BC problems.  While I was having surgery 2 weeks ago, I told them to do a tubal ligation since my DH chickened out of a vasectomy too.  I'm still recovering from it.

Pizza for dinner tonight - I had to go pick up Scout from her teeth cleaning, and DH spent all day pulling weeds in the front and back yards. I managed to limit myself to 2 slices, though. In the past, I'd probably have eaten half the pizza (and we'd have gotten a large). I'll have a cider later. Mmmm.

Meri - sorry you've had a rough day and didn't get the blood work done.   :hug:  I'd have cried over it too out of such frustration.  Getting the mirena out is such a simple procedure, I almost wish I'd taken mine out myself to save the money!  Expect several weeks to a few months of crazy hormones though.  :skeered:

I've been busy cleaning today and missed out on my run due to a short nap by the kids.  At least I managed to eat pretty good today...if I forget about the rice krispie treats and red velvet cake.   :-[

This weekend is going to be a busy one with visitors both days but I know it'll be fun.

Down 2 this morning for my official weigh-in - woot! Oatmeal for breakfast. We're going to a birthday party for a 3 year old this afternoon, so God only knows what I'll end up eating there. Dinner is also up in the air right now.

Down 2 after pizza and cider for dinner?  Woo Hoo!  That is too awesome.  YAY DEBBA!

Got out for my first long bike ride of the season today.  YAY!  28 miles at an 11-minute mile pace.  My feet got cold, but the rest of me was fairly warm and comfy.  My thighs were like WTF in the last 45 minutes, but they're fine now.

i've been counting calories and exercising regularly for almost three months with almost zero weight gain, a nutritionist/RD friend suggested a list of tests to do including thyroid and insulin resistance, she thinks i may have some insulin resistance which can cause weight gain and lack of weight loss. If all those tests (14 of them) come back ok, the next step is to have the Mirena out. I have used the Mirena for 10 years (except when pregnant) and did not have problems, but maybe post baby i am now having problems because of it? googling Mirena + weight gain came up with a TON of hits and information that was not pleasant to read. I would not get a tubal, i would possibly consider the Paraguard IUD, but after Badwater. I got pregnant the cycle after getting the Mirena out, so hoping my hormones won't be too screwed up.

i would have a HARD time stopping at two pieces of pizza, unless there were only two there :D (ie, not a whole pie)

perfect bike weather, mini.

out to dinner tonight with relatives in town, a chinese style place, will probably just get steamed veggies over brown rice  :-\ that alone will make me bloat up! LOL

oh i never ate a turnip (rutabaga yes, turnip no) until last night and made mashed turnip and sweet potato, it was really tasty!

This has been a key concept for me with the I-diet... and one I still struggle a bit to master. I suffer immensely from "eyes bigger than my stomach" syndrome. When I stop at reasonable, I'm fine and happy. But, stopping at reasonable (and starting at reasonable) are tough for me. My brain is ALWAYS saying yes, you do need that extra slice of cheese, and that extra egg, and another... just a little more... and so on.

Yep, realizing that I'm perfectly happy after one real serving (not what I think a serving *should* be, and they are vastly different) has been HUGE. The other big change has been realizing that "moderation" doesn't mean I get to have something "bad" for me every day. It means I get to have it once a week, if small, or maybe once a month, if a big treat.

I think moderation gets too much focus because. I think I tend to use it to give myself permission. I prefer to think of them as special, exception, treats.

But, also, something I've learned on the idiet is that I can actually be satisfied on less than 1 serving. Like, I will eat 1 slice of toast with 1tsp each of pb and jam. I have learned to trust her portion sizes as "enough". Although, I struggle to find my own portions and recipes "off diet" that give me the same sense of satiety her food does.

Tonight I made a pizza with a la tortilla factory 100 calorie wrap (has 12g of fiber and 8 g of protien). I baked it in the oven and then topped it with some tj's pizza sauce, 1/2 cup of mozz (ff is what I had), some artichoke hearts, a few olives, a few sunflower seeds, a few sundried tomatoes, lots of spinach, green peppers and onions. I also had a salad on the side. The wrap, cheese and sauce were an even 300 calories- so I am estimating it was 4-500 calories. More than I'd typically do for dinner but for something a little splurgy, without going overboard, let me tell you this hit the spot! I actually would have been ok with 1/2 or 3/4- I'm  a bit overstuffed. I will make this again!

Morning ladies!

I am really missing my running again lately.  The chances have been very few the last couple days, and probably won't happen today either.  I'm definitely getting back to it tomorrow though.

DH made a comment the other day that I don't know if I should be mad about or not.  He said he thought I could do with some bulking up.  Either muscle or a little more weight....and I've honestly not lost anymore since the WLC.  I'm at a comfortable for me weight, and would love more muscle tone but it seems to be harder for me to maintain a strength training routine.  It was the first time he's mentioned it, so I'm ignoring it a bit for now.  If he says something again I guess I'll look into it a bit more.   :-\

It's just all that work I did to lose the weight and now he may think it's too much weight loss.  :incazzato:

Weigh in day. Down 0.6...I am pretty frustrated by that because I have been on plan the entire week and have run an acceptable number of times. I hate how hard my body tries to hold onto excess weight.

But now that my pity party is over I will move on. I am making veggie pad thai tonight (first time I have ever attempted it). Last night I made meatloaf (with a mizture of lean ground turkey and lean ground beef) which was yummy and ok on points. We will be able to eat on the leftovers this week.

As long as you feel good, ignore him.  I know, easier said than done.
