Good job, hally! I still track WW points, but I do the online program. I've done the meetings to death, and there's just not much more they can tell me that I don't already know. I just have to keep counting and I'll get there eventually.

I'm out of milk at work so I made toast (2 slices of light wheat bread) with 2 tsp of pb, 2tsp of jam, and 4 prunes. I have 1 cup of broccoli soup and a cheese sandwhich for lunch. A small orange and 8 almonds for snack later. Not sure what dinner will be yet. Maybe another veggie burger or a wrap. A friend I haven't seen in forever wants to have a glass of wine with me later. I told her I'd go. I'm not sure about the wine though.  :-\

One of my favorite things from WW meeting is if you break an egg you don't throw the whole carton out, trip on a stair you don't throw yourself down the whole flight....just because you go off plan a little is no excuse to give up or go nuts at the next meal.
She has a lot of great little sayings, what you eat in private shows up in public. And you've come to far to take orders from a piece of chocolate.

Good stuff here. Someone (I can never remember who it was) posted something one time that really stuck with me... I'm paraphrasing... a diet isn't one decision- it's a thousand decisions all day long. It's the decision not to eat the chocolate. It's the *same* decision not to eat the chocolate 10 minutes later, and 10 minutes after that, and to have an apple instead. Sometimes it helps me to think about it in that way.

Yes, breaking it down decision by decision really helps, too. It's also, for me at least, really important to remember to not throw the baby out with the bathwater, or to not throw myself down the stairs or whatever. I tend to be very all or nothing, and one slip-up is likely to throw me over the edge and into a binge-eating hell that it can take weeks to get out of.

I *am* going to have to get gas for my car today at lunch. No getting around that one right now.  :nails:

I am this way too. I do ok as long as I have a plan. I can follow the plan and even exceed my plan and then feel good about that. But, should I eat something I didn't plan to eat, that is when things slide sideways for me.

Good luck at the gas station. You can do it! You are building a new habit. Do you have a costco near you at all? Their gas station isn't hooked to a convenience store so maybe less temptation?

Unfortunately, the nearest Costco is a haul from work, so I can't do that - but it's a good idea for next time! I just need to remember to sit at the car and wait and not go in to the store part of things at all. I should have had DH fill up the car last night, but I forgot. Oh well.

got the kid to nap (super early) but i am exhausted and can barely move. I do not think i can workout today. watching biggest loser and dreaming of my salad for lunch  :eyeroll: :D

I go to the meetings more for support then the meeting itself. Just like this group, to know that there are other people facing the same issues helps me. Although it's super annoying when someone comes in losing 3 and 4 pounds a week and they don't even exercise. But then I am not them, and I have to keep telling myself that. That is even helpful.

I got a lot out of the meetings for a long time, so I get it. But the ones around here got really repetitive, and I can only listen to the recipe for pumpkin fluff muffins or whatever so many times before I want to poke my eyes out. And now that I have a kid, my schedule totally changed - the meetings convenient to my house aren't at good times, and the ones that are at good times are across town, so...

Online it is!

This thread really helps, though.

OMG, my left ear is still really clogged. I didn't realize how bad it was until I tried to clear it a minute ago. It won't budge :o Sorry, this has nothing to do with Perpetually Healthy Eating and/or Fitness, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

I go with a couple of women from work at lunchtime. The weigh in I do on my way in on Thursdays, I don't eat or drink anything before I go which sucks because I've already either run or done the elliptical and not only am I thirsty but I need some COFFEE! But I felt like I was too damn hungry if I waited till the meeting at 1 PM because I wouldn't eat and drink enough beforehand. And my scale is wonky. I think if I could leave it in one place I would trust it more, but I don't have room and have to move it under the sink after I use it.

I was at a happy weight maybe 6 years ago, and then I got sick of constantly watching and still putting weight on. And let myself gain 40 or 50 pounds. :yikes:
I've finally come to terms with the fact that as we age we just can't eat the way we used to, and we aren't going to lose the way we used to either. It sucks facing reality.

It's good to have this board though, mostly because I know most if not all of us are very active people. Folks always say "but you do 40-50 mile rides every weekend how can you not lose" I think this group can understand how you can not lose!!

My old roommate that i did WW with wore the same outfit every time, and it was shorts and a tank, even in the dead of winter in MA :D

I pretty much wear the same thing, although I did change it from summer to winter.
I wear tights and panties under a skirt with a lightweight long sleeved top and take the skirt off to weigh in.
If I could strip to bra and panties I would! Those clothes weigh a pound at least!

ain't that the truth!

I've been living a life of complete sloth lately. I just can't seem to get my motivation back to actually work out. Plus, eating is at least 99% of the losing part for me. But... since I can't do any of my normal activities... I've been pouting about being active. The jury is still out on whether I will continue to pout until june, or decide to actually get off my arse and do something at some point.

My DELICIOUS lunch:

a WHOLE bunch of broccolini, sauteed and slightly charred on the florets, a handful of shredded skim mozzarella on top of the broccolini, and two fried eggs on top of that. Hot DAMN that's good.

I've done something like this a couple of times too- amazing! I like rapini because it has some leaves in there and I love it with carmalized onions & garlic. Yum. Yum!

I don't find it very bitter, tbh. I like the offset of slightly bitter to the sweet onions. I usually just chop it into bite size pieces and toss the tougher stalks (I use about 1/3 of the stalk) in with the onions and garlic- deglaze a bit with water or wine, toss in the leaves and the tops and sautee until they are tender and the leaves are wilty. I like to take rapini a bit beyond aldente because I like the texture of the leaves cooked a little more though. I don't think that helps the bitter though.  :-\
