Hooray for bending your arm, diablita!

I want to like Chobani but when I buy it, I never end up eating it. I am addicted to the Muller Corners strawberry flavor though. It's not Greek yogurt, just regular. It's my post-yoga or post-run treat.

I always bought store brand until I bought Chobani and now there is no going back.  If you don't like pits, don't get passion fruit, it is little pits or granule type things in it.  I love all flavors, lemon included but I do think so far the blood orange is my favorite.

So, I've been on my thyroid meds for over a couple weeks (I think), and my weight is frustrating me still.  I've been tracking my calories for a full week, every single day, and have been under most days and only over 1 day.  Yet I gained almost a pound.  WTF?  My body temp is also not increasing.  I don't know how long it's supposed to take.  In fact, my body temp seems to be lower than before.  It was 93.6 the other morning.   That cannot be good.  It had been 94-95ish most days, with an occassional 96.  When I saw the 93.6, I was like "Am I really even alive?"  Then I told my DH that if he killed me, he could probably get away with it if he had a decent alibi close to the murder time, since my body temp is so off, the coroner would not be able to really pinpoint the time of death.

This is the shit I think about.   :eyeroll:  :D

Yay, diablita!

As for the chobani, I think the disappointment stemmed from expecting it to taste like pineapple, and then not tasting that way at all. And it took me a few bites to figure it out - I thought it had gone bad or something.

Courtney, can you call the doctor back and let them know what's going on? From everything I've read, it can take time to get the dosage correct.

I am going to see the doc again soon.  :)  I need to reschedule the appointment, so this is a good reminder to call her!

Yeah, that is a very unhappy surprise when your mouth is expecting one flavor and you get something so different. It's not even that it's totally bad, just not what you were ready for!

Courtney, hope some follow up helps get that more on track. That is a low temp!

Courtney-- from what i see with my patients, it is VERY hard to get thyroid meds at the right level, and even once you do, to keep them at the right level over time. Also, how you take your medicine is very important, for example, it is recommended with many thyroid meds, to take before food and not with any other medication or supplements. I have some patients who take it around 3-4am and go back to sleep. It seems to help with the absorption.

My body temp rarely gets over 95.

It is super frustrating when I am sick and think I have a high temp and it reads 98 or 99....that is a high temp for me but nobody believes me.
I also can no longer eat at my husband's favorite restaurant because I get so cold in that place that I am completely miserable and shivering.

wait 6 weeks to allow the meds time to do their thing, and then call your doctor.

Thank you, Witchy.  :D  I was hoping you might see this.  It hasn't been that long, I know.

I'm supposed to take it an hour before I eat, or 2-3 hours after I eat.  So I take one dose first thing in the AM (but I also take my allergy meds then, maybe I should switch those to night?), but depending on my schedule, I sometimes take it before lunch, sometimes in the afternoon.  What sucks is that by the time it's been 2-3 hours after lunch, I'm hungry, again, and the idea of waiting another hour to eat something does not please me.

She mentioned something about a liquid form I can take once a week (?) but apparently the pills are supposed to work a bit better.  I'm a bad pill swallower (I gag about half the time) and then there's the whole food/drug thing.  SO maybe that is an option.  We'll see.

it's more important that you take them in a consistent manner, every day.  so, get up and take the pill immediately.  take your allergy meds then, too, if that's when you can remember to take them.  and do that every day.  don't forget to take them and then do it 4 hours later.

i wake up, take my pill, go down to the kitchen and have a glass of water and a slice of toast.  i don't wait an hour to eat, because i can't.  if i wait an hour to eat, i won't have a chance to eat until lunch (and possibly not until supper) and the low-blood-sugar-monster is a terrible monster.  and if i wait to take my pill, i won't take it.  'cause my brain is not accustomed to taking pills at any time other than in the morning.
