Ok so today
Breakfast: 1 egg, 3 egg whites, lowfat cheese and 2 slices of toast = 8 pts
Lunch: salad = 6 points
Snack: watermelon = 0 points
Dinner: Filet mignon, asparagus, zucchini, and grean beans = 13 points (12 points for the steak)  :o
Dessert: grilled apples with whipped cream = 1 point

There goes all my points  :'(

MM, is that the new points plus? What did you put on your salad that made it 6 points? That's not a bad day of points for a weekend day - that's usually when I splurge and dip into the weekly pool. And I am all about working in activity points, even if it's just a couple for walking.

I am learning to load up on fruit & veggies to make lower-point portions feel more filling. My new thing for packing lunches is Musselman's applesauce - the unsweetened one is zero points. So if I need a fruit to fill out my lunch items, I have that, even if I haven't shopped and have no fresh produce around.

I also got my bento box lunch containers and they are small! So I think I am going to have some well-organized and portion-controlled lunches this fall.  :)

That looks like an excellent diet, MM!   I love watermelon.

cgraz, those bento boxes are tiny!  My lunch salad is about twice that size.  Most of the artful pictures I've seen of bentos have them crammed full of goodies.

I'm feeling surly and unmotivated this morning.  I was really good all last week, only had a few small servings of grains (2 sushi meals), and managed to lose 2 lbs to kick-start the WLC.  But it was a bit disheartening how hard I had to work and how little I ate to lose 2 measley pounds.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

The little bugger was craving protein this weekend. Good Lord. I had a cheeseburger for dinner Saturday night (not much of a lunch on Saturday - I was at my cousin's baby shower), migas for brunch yesterday, and another goddamn burger last night with mac and cheese as my side.

Between the sodium and the massive points overage, yeah, I gained a bit. I'm not super worried, but I do need to get things under control.

My salad had 1 serving of canned crab, a couple  slices iof avocado, and one serving of goat cheese and I sprayed it with olive oil. That was six points. Honestly I hate points plus...I like the fruit is free but I get nowhere near as much food as I got on the old plan. Every time I try to follow it now I cannot stay on points...I am just starving to death even with the massive amount of veggies I eat. I think its why I keep quitting this time around.

I generally eat my weekly points but not exercise points. If I eat both I don't lose.

I think my real problem is how low carb the plan has become. Stuff that used to be one point is now three but I sure as hell don't have three times the number of points I used to get.

How many points are you allotted per day? (Does it vary by person or is it standard? I didn't know if you'd have the same as me.) Because just doing one or two little things, like picking the avocado or the goat cheese but not both, or the eggs without cheese, etc. can help. I found that I ended up trimming out some little piddly one- or two-point add-ons to meals, sandwiches, salads, etc. and it helped me stay within overall. They were things I didn't really miss - one slice of cheese on a sandwich isn't going to make or break it for me.

But still, the points for that day you listed seem great - well within bounds of a decent day, especially if you did any walking or other exercise. For my daily points (which I have adjusted a little) it would be spot-on, without any activity points or anything.

I did find when I first started that I felt my points didn't get me very far and I was hungry, and I hated to dip into the weekly points - so I budgeted myself two more points per day and I have still been losing at a decent rate, but I feel much more satisfied with just a little more leeway. My sister made a suggestion that I found also works well for me - she said she eats her activity points but not her weekly points, if she wants to lose. If she eats her weekly points, then she just maintains. That's about how it goes for me too.

Then again, I was not at all familiar with the old system, so I didn't have to adjust to any limitations other than just getting on the program in the first place.

Well I would in a second but I live with another person who has never followed it and has followed the new plan. I don't really see that working out.

cgraz, the points you get are based on your height and current weight, so it varies from person to person. I don't want to talk about how many points I get because I'm reasonably tall and fat. :)

MM, I'm assuming you've done all the back to basics stuff like double-checking serving sizes and things? Can you switch up the kinds of carbs you're eating? I've been trying to ditch sandwiches for lunch in favor of something with protein and a lower-point grain. Last week it was couscous chickpea salad.

Can you eat some of your activity points and not all?

How/why would it matter if you and Antag are on different plans? I mean.... no matter what, he's going to get a different number of points, right?

It matters at my house, because DH is all "I'm eating a 1 pt granola bar!" and for me, on the new points, it's 3, and it makes me want to punch someone.  :D

Hah! Okay, that's a fair point. :D

Ugh, I forgot, on top of everything else I ate this weekend, I had a slice of wheat bread slathered with peanut butter after we got home from the grocery store.  :eyeroll:

Doh!

Plus, the new apps make it easy to track everything and they are based on the new program. I love the scanner, even though I'm sure it makes me look like a dork in the grocery store.

Exactly...plus I make the meals so I would have to calculate it both ways.
