Oh, I didn't realize it was a haul. That's a bummer.
yeah. i am going to play the race by ear and i can always leave early if i am done. I really want to go because i think i have a really good chance at placing if i can stay focussed and not be too lazy :D I hope i could do better than just place. I scoped out the competition and there is a good chance, but there were a couple names on there that could maybe do as good or better. I ran this race two years ago and DH ran 6 hours and i ran 6 hours (we did bring DD) and if i had run the whole thing i would have been 1st female.

i know and i am going to be pissed if i don't do well, LOL!!!! I did another one of this RD's races and I came in 4th, the next two years, my finish mileage would have been good for 2nd and third, grrrr. It was a 48 hour race. I am so lazy since Badwater, but maybe this will be good for me.

Those are good goals. The eating out thing is the easiest way to cut calories, sodium, and fat for sure.

You just have to plan ahead. I made my lunch for tomorrow while DH was making dinner tonight.

Goals are good!  I need a few myself in hopes to get me moving again.

1.  Go to bed before midnight, preferably by 11:00.
2.  Plan meals at least for 3 days a week.
3.  Drink more water, at least 2 full glasses daily.  Dr visit today suggested my new dizziness & numb arms could be lack of fluids!?
4.  Run at least 30 minutes every other day, more is better but this is minimum.
5.  Drink wine as needed without feeling guilty over it.

I should put them somewhere visible in the house too.

I did some shopping for work clothes today...a nightmare.  I was eventually able to get some dress pants that fit despite PMS bloat.  More training for work tomorrow.  DH is already whining about having to watch the kids and do his work while I'm away.  Well, duh, get used to it.  A rather touchy subject for me since he would only need to work a few more hours to make the same income as it would take me a whole week (or two) to earn.  Plus I am still doing the household chores...and the MFer complained that I didn't clear away the kitchen dishes sooner tonight!

We are both a little moody lately.

I'm going to bed now or will totally fail my 1st goal.

Had intended to overcome the cheeto incident with nice healthy bowl of DH's homemade chicken soup for dinner.  Came home and...the pot smelled like poop.  Over the course of one day, the whole (one day old) pot of soup went completely rancid.  Don't know what happened.  Yuck.

We split some TJ's frozen shepherd's pie--which isn't all that bad, caloriewise--but ate with onion roll with butter.  Then padded over to the bakery next door for chocolate insanity cake.

.
.
.
But today's another day!  Ran 4.  PB and wasa for breakfast.

Bolloxd, I *love* your last goal. :D

So my alarm went off this morning and I felt like I'd been run over by a truck. Moderate congestion, my throat hurts from the dripping, slightly achy muscles, headache... how does my body know when I'm planning on getting back on track? The mold has been high all week and I've been fine. I decide to hop back on the wagon and start running again, and BAM! Noooooo, says my body, no you won't, dammit!

WTF?

I need a nap.

OMFG, it is FREEZING in here. Seriously, I had to go get my jacket from the car and it's useless. My fingers are turning blue under the nails from the cold and I'm shivering so hard I can barely type. I better at least be burning calories from this. I might very well go home at lunch.

So, I finally found our scale yesterday. I weighed myself mid-day so probably a little higher than my actual weight and I'm 2lbs into a new decade. I was able to zip up my skinny jeans that I last fit into about 10 years ago. Now, I wouldn't say they "fit" particularly- but I got them zipped. The jeans I was happy to fit myself into in december are now loose all around and I can slide them on/off over my hips. I'm wearing a pair of slacks that I purchased in 2004 and they fit me perfectly. Of course, at the time I felt like a cow at this weight.  ;)

I couldn't find my belt this morning. Which means I need to tear everything apart tonight to try and find it. I'm down to one pair of slacks (they ones I'm wearing- and they are winter weight, and lined)  I can wear without a belt and all of the dresses I have with me need a belt also. That one pesky little piece of wardrobe single handedly renders my entire work wardrobe that I have with me totally useless. But, I'm trying really hard not to spend any money AND I was really hoping not to drive the 50 miles round trip to go back to the house this week.  :sigh:

Then, after a 4+ month absence, I got my period today.

It's been that kind of week- I got a huge (like 8") rosette rock chip in my windshield that needs to be fixed immediately. I am sick of spare-room surfing so I booked two week-long stays in vacation rentals for the last two weeks until we move into the new place... and then I got called out on a business trip next week, so one of them I won't even stay at for most of it.

I feel like a total storm cloud today.

I'm sorry, RA - that all sounds super-stressful.

I'm officially sick. Not sure what it is yet, but I'm going to the clinic tonight to see. I've had a 101.8 fever pretty much since I got home this morning.  >:(

Feel better Debba.
RA that all sounds stressful.  Ugh.  I shall work on my goal #5 with you in mind.

I had 4 hrs of training today.  I'm not used to being on my feet like I was...I'm sure to get used to it again.
I was freezing today too but that was due to a/c overuse.  The pharmacy even had a heater on.

My planned meal for today went like blue sleeps.  The chicken I was gonna cook is still in date but totally off.   The smell is stuck in my head.

 :o

The thought of bad chicken just... OMG.

Dr. appointment at 7:40 tonight, across town. It was either that, or wait until midafternoon tomorrow. I suspect strep. I don't feel shitty enough for it to be flu.

Don't scare me with your chicken!  I bought chicken Sunday with a sell by date of 8/21 (which is next Tuesday).  However, it says to use or freeze within 48 hours of purchase.  It better be ok to cook with tomorrow night!     :fiery:

  RA

Debba- do you not have Minute Clinics at your CVSs? I walked right in for a strep test when i thought i had strep and the woman was a retired dr.

So i got my period yesterday, then nothing ALL DAY TODAY until just now. My hormones are so bizarre and i ate 2 slices of bread for afternoon snack. I have become a bread monster  :panic: gotta stop letting it into the house, but DH is really into tomato and zucchini sandwiches right now.

So apparently there is a free already paid for vacation rental in Seattle. Who wants to vacation with me?  :d

Hope you're resting up now debba.
Meri, it could be remaining Mirena hormones along with running Badwater.  The one thing I've actually appreciated since getting the Mirena removed is that I finally have predictable & regular periods.  I never had those before.  Of course I've just jinxed myself.
MM, I'd love a vacation!! PICK ME!!  Unfortunately Seattle is a bit far to hitch hike.

The chicken I had was good until the 18th so I thought I had a couple days left.  Oh well.  I had some diced chicken in the freezer and ended up breading & frying it....it was so awesome.  I'm hoping to focus on consistent meals rather than healthy.  I'll work on that next.

Does Minidriver, the original poster, even read this thread anymore?
