Maybe you could get them mini versions of the headgear and boxing gloves they wear at the Olympics?

If it helps at all, we're trying to break Reid of needing DH to sit in the rocker in his room before he'll fall asleep. DH sat for 10 minutes tonight and then left. Reid's screaming "MOMMY AND DADDY!!!!!!!" and sobbing like we've just left him on the front steps of the orphanage. I've already gone in once.  :'( I feel like shit right now.

I tried to put my niece to bed the last time I was there, and we were both sobbing by the time my brother got home and I finally gave up.  Now, I know she was manipulating me, but jeebus, I don't know how parents do it!

It's rough. All told, though, it was "only" about 10 minutes of crying. Longest 10 minutes ever.

thanks for the reviews, meri.  I love zucchini.  They're mostly water, though, so no wonder you can't fill yourself up.  OTOH, I could see eating that zucchini 'pasta' with fresh tomato sauce, cheese and walnuts and making it more filling and a rounder meal.
or chickpeas or something in it.

i posted the one from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/World-Cuisine-A4982799-Tri-Blade-Vegetable/dp/B0007Y9WHQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344533942&sr=8-1&keywords=spiral+slicer

the fries were a little thin, more shoe string than curly, but still good.

i had a half decent run today. treadmill. still undecided about my race next weekend (19th) and if i will go or not. no entrant list is posted, so that is part of my deciding factor, if i could be competitive or not. may email the RD who is a friend.

I think i am hypoglycemic for sure! coming home from dropping DD off at school following yoga, i was shaky and lightheaded. I barely ate much today. wtf?

I had a 800-something calorie panino (?) at Panera. Good lord, those things are calorie dense. Not that that should be too surprising, given that they have chicken AND cheese AND bacon.

I enjoyed it!  :D  I think my low-level nausea has finally left the building and I have barely eaten the last few days, so it probably shouldn't matter too much.

And to top of my not so stellar day, I had a Girl Scout Cookie Candy Bar (Thin Mint, natch) for dinner. Hmmmm!

You probably know this but if you are barely eating, yes, your blood sugar will be hard to stabilize.  Are you eating enough protein?

And MM, glad you're enjoying your honeymoon.  Hope running and lifting isn't the only exercise you're getting.  :groucho:

MM, that sounds great - I usually love running and stuff on vacation. It is so nice to enjoy the scenery, etc. and the relaxed pace when you're away.

This morning is weigh-in day for me, and I hit my first goal - lost 5% of my starting weight.  :) It feels like it took a while, but I think considering that the time included that week at yearbook camp and two weeks of vacation, and I didn't totally deprive myself of indulgences during those, that's pretty good. It's a good feeling to know that I can get through times like that and still reach a goal and either lose or maintain.

I think the biggest thing that I like about WW so far is that every day feels like a fresh start, so I am not beating myself up when there's a day where I dip too far into those extra points. I just start fresh the next day.

Seriously, does anyone understand how hormones can do this to you? Where does period weight come from? I haven't eaten enough to gain what the scale says I've gained, so it can't be a true fat gain, you know? WTF?

Is it fluid retention? The PMS/period bloat is the pits.

In general, I've been trying to drink lots of water, with sliced lemon in it. I don't know if that helps or not, but I feel less puffy.

Seriously? Good God. I feel like if it were all bloat/water retention, I should see that in my fingers or ankles or something, but I guess not. Huh.

I wonder why that lemon in the water trick seems to work?  I've heard lots of people swear by it for reducing bloating.

i think water with lemon is vomit inducing :( i also heard salty water because it leaches the bloat from you. seems counter intuitive to me.
