Glad things are looking up for you meri!

Debba, sometimes you just have to laugh or you'll end up crying.   :buttpat:

Early am run with DH & the dog - 3.1 miles.  DH wants to stick with that mileage until he feels comfortable... which is great, but I need to remember I can keep going and don't have to stick to his mileage.  Toddler gym was fun, plenty of running/jumping/bouncing... they both love it so much.  A bonus is they always nap early too - like at 12:30 today when most of the time they fight a nap until 2:00.  PLUS they slept till 4:00, so I got a nap in myself plus tons of cooking done today.

Jumped into the pool again briefly this evening.  Partially because the kids wanted to and partially because I'm testing out my new suits.  It appears one of them will need to be for home purposes since the top is very easily yanked by kids to become a public indecency violation.

Steak & salad for dinner...and pavlova.  I'm addicted to it, and David had a tantrum yesterday because I didn't have any made...so he loves it too!

God, I hope he hasn't been kissing the dog!

How do you manage to run with your DH with the kids? Do y'all just leave them there? No judging, genuinely curious about how that works.

were you asking me or Bolloxd? I run at 5am and then the other run is either between work and picking up DD or with a jogging stroller.

Debba, we are lucky to live in an area with lots of vacant land... we have 13 acres which backs onto my parents' property of 70ish acres, and on the other side of our house is 30 empty acres and a further 50 acres - all empty (or family), fields, wooded, with trails & hills, and/or next to the river.  Our driveway, down & back, is .6 of a mile...we do loops of the properties and run back thru the house to check on them regularly.  And during nap time runs, I wait until I know they have both fallen asleep before going out rather than just putting them to bed & running.   They are solid sleepers, once they actually go to sleep.  If we lived anywhere else there is no way I could do it.

MoS, muscle weight perhaps?

MM, sorry you've got the crud.  Hope you feel better asap.

Not much going on exercise-wise this morning.  We ended up going to my Aunt's house so DH could work on her computer.  The kids had fun & played with her dogs, plus we spent this morning blowing bubbles on the deck.  Rachel had the worst diaper rash ever this morning.  She's had bad runny poo the last day or so and we've stayed on top of it, but it has to have been something she ate....poor girl has blisters in very painful places! Seems to be getting slightly better since running around diaper free.

We may be going to watch a friend run a half marathon tomorrow, still no definite plans.  I don't mind being there & supportive but I will be super jealous not being able to join in.  Oh well, I'm hoping to do my own long run on Sunday by myself.

Bolloxd - ahhh, gotcha. Yeah, that wouldn't work for us. :) That's awesome, though!

Meri, I'm just flat-out in awe of you and how you manage to make sure you get your training done.

I'm finally feeling better from the stomach bug. Plan is to get back to running on Monday. MM, get some rest and feel better soon!

I ate some crap for lunch, but eh, whatever. Back on the wagon tonight with dinner.

I am SO tired right now. I seriously want today to be over so I can go get Reid, eat, put him to bed, and crash myself.

Ugh.. the scale is up again.  There is no way I could have gained 5 lbs in 3 days.. that would be a humongous amount of calories.  I am sore today from my session with the trainer so I googled and found this:
An intense workout, especially one with weight-lifting, can cause the body to retain water because water is attending to those muscles that are working overtime. Strengthening muscles or muscles that have been pulled or torn are areas where water travels to in order to heal.

Strength training causes microscopic tears in your muscle fibers. When these tears heal, the body rebuilds the muscles stronger than before. After a tough workout, blood rushes to the affected muscles to provide the nutrients that they need for recovery and to clear lactic acid and other cellular waste. The extra fluid causes muscles to become inflamed.

Post-workout swelling usually begins almost immediately after a workout and can last three to seven days

Hopefully this is all it is.. I'm thinking maybe I need to buy a new scale but I'll wait a few more days and see!

I give up. The scale was down like 3 pounds from my starting point on Thursday, when I was sick. Today? Up 2 from my start point. There's no way I've eaten that much food in a day. WTF.  >:(

know what that is?  fucking annoying, that's what

So after a month of hard core dieting I was down 9 pounds.  Nearly my goal.  Swimsuit and cover-up came yesterday, tried them on, look great.  How often does that happen???  So of course this morning I wake up with an upset stomach, it's puffed out and I don't feel great.  :(  I took a Pepto and am hoping it'll get better before DD's pool party at noon.

story of my life. first day at the pool i was super bloated with my period, argh!

Debba, again, story of my life.

My weight is finally back to where it was 2 weeks ago. I am hoping with no bday party this month (not like 2 pieces of cake gave me 6lbs, but whatever) and hardcore training, i can be down at least 5-7 lbs by Badwater.
