My weight is so weird.. On Sunday morning I stepped on the scale and was up two pounds.. Now granted I had been drinking a ton of water on Sat to hydrate for my race and also had pasta and bread Sat night so I was not to worried about it.. ran the race.. ate.. and kind of ate normally yesterday and today I stepped on the scale and was down 4 lbs from Sunday...so down two pounds from my Sat weight..

In general my weight can fluctuate 2-3 lbs a day.. I think I retain a lot of fluid.. I have high blood pressure and maybe this has to do with the fact that I shouldn't eat salt?

I have not really been logging my food. I feel like I should if I want to lose, but sometimes I also feel like the focus of the food and where I'm at in the day has the reverse effect and makes me want to eat more.. And the logging is not a biggie for breakfast and lunch because I pretty much eat the same thing every day... I do feel like I am being a lot more Mindful of what I eat though, even with out the logging.

I had a race yesterday as well.  A 10 miler with 40,000 people!  It was crazy, but I had a great run, finishing in 1:27:40, which is I think an 8:24 per mile pace?

8:46.  I run about the same overall time for the 10 miler.

Bolloxd, we're just about halfway through the 2s... in a lot of ways, things have gotten better - he's more articulate and better able to tell us if something's wrong, etc. In some ways, it's gotten worse - he's pickier about stuff and more likely to lose his shit if we don't read his mind. :) This morning, he wilted to the floor, crying bitter, bitter tears because his smoothie was on the kitchen counter and not the table.  :eyeroll:

Don't take it personally - toddlers are batshit crazy. At least, that's what I've concluded.

The scale was better than expected this morning. No exercise again this morning, but I have a training appointment tonight. I'm also going for my first acupuncture appointment this afternoon and am REALLY hoping for some relief.  :fingers: :fingers: :fingers:

Okay, after a fun weekend of carb and glycogen loading, I am ready to ease up on my larger than usual portions of delicious carby things.  After the marathon I had an amazing cheeseburger and beers for lunch, and then later on pretzels and gummy bears and then sushi for dinner.  Yesterday I was very hungry so I just kept eating.  Cereal, english muffin, salad, sandwich, more pretzels and gummy bears, dried fruit, finally some veggies for dinner, ice cream, booze.  No portion control, no calorie counting and okay, I've gotten that out of my system.  Back to wholesome, minimally processed foods and reasonable portions starting today!

Debba I hope you get some relief from allergies soon.

The kids woke us up this morning by fighting each other in their cribs!  Sheesh.  Luckily my tasks today include getting out of the house to vote, and get the car inspection done.  As I left they stood at the door crying and David grabbed Rachel's hair and threw her to the floor.   :nono:

Caito,  so glad you enjoyed your carb loading!  I'd probably need a month to recover from a marathon.

i am not feeling it for my run today. i am not sure i will run. i will either run or start sewing DD's birthday dress. I finished it last week and it was too small, it was unfixable, so i am starting from scratch. Actually, it was too big, then i altered it too small because she threw a fit and would not let me measure her and i "eye balled it"  :eyeroll:

I got up and ran/shuffled this morning before work.  First run in a long time.  Week 1 Day 1 of C25K.  During the walk sections, and warm up and cool down, I ran slowly.  Like, an odd shuffle.  But then I sped up a lot during the run sections.  It felt good.

I ate way too much all weekend.  16 hours in the car (in total) and fro-yo, brats, these amazing "crack potatoes", meatloaf, etc.  Lots of food.

Good for you, Courtney! I'm hopeful about getting up tomorrow after the allergy week from hell. It might be raining, though. I need a plan B for those mornings.

I put the word out on FB the night before, and three people texted me to make sure I got up this morning :D  Otherwise, I probably would not have gotten up.

I need to do some meal planning, y'all.  I see this as a major piece of success for me.  Otherwise, I get home at night and don't have anything handy to cook, so I put it off, then we end up ordering a pizza, or running out to grab something (which is often subway, but still, there is a lot to be said for home cooked meals, which can then produce leftovers for lunch later).

Who's good at that?  I'm the WORST.

Um, I'm okay at it, but I just go through my Cooking Lights and find recipes that sound good.

I get all excited during the planning stage, and then I don't want to go to the grocery store, so I don't, and then we eat random shit from the cupboards or go out to eat.  It's a bad cycle.   :nono:

I kind of hate grocery shopping.  It's full of binge temptations for me, and I don't fare well very often.  That's probably part of the issue.

Ahhhh, that makes sense. We usually all go together on the weekend, so I do the meal plan for the week and then the list right before that.

See, this is where I think grocery delivery would be worth it!  A grocery store near me used to charge a delivery fee (I think $5-10) and would deliver groceries to your house.  You can order exactly what you want and not be tempted by all the yummies at the store.  For me, the delivery service would easily pay for itself if it was that low, because I would avoid impulse buying.

The downside is that you have to be home for a window of time, and if you forget to put something on your list your out of luck.  But the good might outweigh the bad for sure!

HUH. That would absolutely be worth it for me.  I'm positive I spend $5-10 on impulse, junk food shit when I go shopping!

I'll have to google it for the stores around us.   I'm a little leery about not picking out my own produce, but that's about the only other downfall...

Don't take it personally - toddlers are batshit crazy. At least, that's what I've concluded.

Seriously! My niece- who I really love to pieces- has been in the batshit crazy phase for over a year now.  :nono:

She basically did this:

I finished it last week and it was too small, it was unfixable, so i am starting from scratch. Actually, it was too big, then i altered it too small because she threw a fit and would not let me measure her and i "eye balled it"  :eyeroll:

Her mom (my SIL) made new nightgowns for her doll, Virginia and my niece in matching fabric (so cute!) She made the one for my niece too big- really, it was just long- and she flipped out- screaming, crying, running around, did I mention screaming?! Then her mom went and tried to make it a bit smaller. She brought it in and my niece says "Oh! It looks much better!" She tried it on and I guess it was still too long, so she flipped out all over again. My brother (her dad) slammed the door to the sun room porch off the kitchen where she had gone and was flipping out. I was like- wtf?! This went on for like an hour.

Well, this weekend was ok food wise (except for ice cream on Sunday), but I had beer every day. (Only one or two) I'm at the same weight as last week, which really is ok with me. I went for a run and did my DVD yesterday. Today, I did 3 miles after work. My knee was hurting a little at the end today. But, I bought a foam roller last night. I was able to do about 3 minutes with it after the run. That thing is so awkward!! I hope it works magic like the ART did. It certainly felt like the pain he inflicted. I was able to run 2 days in a row, though. :) Might try for 3 by going again tomorrow! We'll see how the sleeping goes.
