At least I managed to have a healthy dinner tonight.  Pasta w/ fresh basil and a salad.  I did my push-ups too.  I'm still slacking on that part.

We got the kids into the pool.  They were surprisingly tolerant of it even with the cool water.  Once it warms up a bit more I'm hoping to do some type of exercises.

Good job, Bolloxd! I slept like crap last night - the allergy congestion hit around 11.15, so no shuffle for me this morning. Of course, Reid woke up at 5.45... I'd have been better off shuffling, I think!

Food has been okay this week, but we're going to have pizza tonight, so we'll see how the scale looks tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest day, Meri. I'm going to call an acupuncturist at lunch and see if I can get an appointment. I'm tired of feeling like crap a few weeks a month, with no warning.

That's awesome! And so, so true. I'm really mean to myself.

Just talked to the acupuncturist - I have an appointment on Tuesday at 3.  :fingers:

That would be so hard for me. I would totally cave and have a burger and fries. I suck at making good choices when eating out at restaurants. I can cook healthy foods and choose to buy all the fresh and healthy stuff at the grocery store. But when I have a menu in front of me, I gravitate to the bad stuff.

How do you guys make the right choices? What inner dialogue do you have going on in your heads that makes it easy to pass up the bad and opt for the good stuff?

Most days I am able to manage having twins and we end up having a lovely day.  Other days they gang up, or one has an off day, and I feel utterly defeated.  It was so awesome meeting up with people today but the kids totally defeated me today.  I beat myself up over it and feel horrible.  Ugh.

The chicken papakas (sp? it may have been called something else) was really tasty though, like super yummy.

Tricia when I'm out to eat I generally go for the bad stuff too and try to make up for it by eating better later.  Or I'll just eat half of it and share the rest with DH.  For some reason I have a hard time finding something that looks appetizing and is also healthy at the same time.  It could just be me though.

I just think about my goal. I still give in sometimes but I would rather give in when I am out with antag than at a work lunch.

Plus three months from today I am paying a lot of money for photos of me in a fancy dress. That is motivation!

that is big motivation! LOL

I have one toddler and there are days i feel helpless against her. She has actually been really good lately, but last night after a great day, she was a little monster, i think she is getting overtired from a lot of outdoor activity. I am not sure how well she naps at school.

I gave up junk food for Lent - that really helped and gave me an excuse when people asked why I wasn't eating burgers or dessert or whatever. Unfortunately, now that Lent is over, I have to make the "good choice" decision myself, and that isn't easy. Apparently 40 days isn't quite long enough for me to get in the habit of ignoring the part of the menu I prefer.

Probably. Technically the photographer has to give me permission but since she is a cher I am sure it will be fine.

You'd think this would be motivating to me, but it is not!  Of course, I knew I was getting my tonsils out and that I'd lose weight over the course of recovery, and I suspect that was why I was unmotivated.  I am interested to see how motivated I am come mid-May/June at eating healthy and exercising.
