Went for a 3-mile walk with a friend today, and then had both lunch and dinner out.  :nono: Am having lunch with my mom tomorrow. I sent her a list of possible restaurants near the conference she's going to be attending. She picked the local burger joint. She knows I'm trying to avoid junk food. Thanks, Mom.

In a million years, I would NEVER have guessed she'd go for that option. I sent it as a joke - something like, "Or we could go here, but you'll spend the rest of the conference asleep after eating all that!"

Gaaaaaaaaaah.

I wonder if Mom thought she was picking something you'd like?  How odd.

I'm feeling much better today, and 4 of the 6 binge pounds have gone, despite being a total slug yesterday.

Bolluxd, I just don't have the determination to ice/ibuprophen for three days after a slow short trot.  There are so many fun exercises I can do - hiking, biking, zumba - that don't cause pain at all.  I'm not willing to put up with joint pain in order to run.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

Eh, I'm not going to worry about it, I just think it's bizarre that she chose that place. I mean, it's delicious, and it's one of two places in town I'll actually go for a burger, so I can't say that I blame her, but she's usually the one lecturing me about my weight, or making passive-aggressive comments about it. Shit, it was probably a test to see how committed I truly am to losing weight. OH WELL. I'm not turning down Mighty Fine burgers. They're hormone- and antibiotic-free, the meat is ground on site, and they're the best burgers in town, by far.

I've gotten more exercise this week and have eaten better this week than I have in months, probably. I'll just make sure I get a junior burger and I'll enjoy the hell out of every bite. I went for a run this morning and have the gym tonight. If the scale doesn't go down this week, okay.

Hi all
Down 2 this week after being up .4 last week ( I had a run in with a container of spicy peanut butter) which makes total 22.4 for an average of .7 a week.
I am hoping with the weather getting nicer and me getting back to road biking that I will start seeing a down trend more consistently. That and being on the winning side of fighting my bad habits.  :D

Hoping Meri gets some answers! And that whatever creeping crud you got Mini is short lived. And if running hurts that much then don't do it!

I cheated and hopped on my home scale yesterday after my run. It looks like I am down so hopefully the trend continues. I hope to be down at least 20 before the wedding.

My bit of schadenfrued: hcg lady is having a meltdown about the fact that we had lunch brought in last week and then we brought in pastries this week and she can't eat any of it. She claims it's terribly unfair that we didn't plan around her diet (really?!). She's like- you can eat that stuff, why don't you have some? A little bite isn't going to derail your diet. (again, really?!?)

So, I had the pleasure of telling her that while I *could* have a bit of one if I wanted to, as my 100 calorie treat, that my tastes have totally changed. If I were fighting a craving, I'd give in. But, I'm just not. I don't even want one.

*smug*

Which brings me to my next point. I'm having a lot of anxiety about this whole thing lately. I'm anxious about going on vacation at the end of next week. What if I can't let the diet mentality go while on vacation? What if I go overboard and gain back all of the weight in a week?

I"m also anxious about the future...and how maintenance will go (if I ever get there). Will I be able to find a middle ground (not something I've been great at in the past).

Work is verrrrry stressful right now. I'm also stressed about the trip- stressed about leaving my family, stressed about who I'm going with... kind of regretting comitting to it at all. *sigh* So, I have a feeling this is just my mind in stress mode and latching on to anything possible.

hang in there RA! I think just go into vacation with a plan. Where are you going? access to lots of fresh fruit, salads, etc? Stress is really hard. Really hard. trust me, i know!!!

I hope to get answers soon too. I discussed with DH that if none of the tests come back with anything, then I will look into getting the Mirena removed. he told me to get my tubes tied and i told him to get snipped, he was like, no way! LOL.

I only walked today because if i get the blood test tomorrow, i am not really supposed to work out the day before.

RA I love that HCG girl is having a meltdown. I am tempted to go visit the girl in my office who is on it and see how she is doing.

MM you have 5 months, you so can do this! A pound a week is healthy and if you lose more great, or a little less one week as long as you average it out.
At your age it should be a snap, not like me in my dottering menopausal-ness  :'(
Don't overthink it though, live the plan.
It's not what you do occasionally, it's what you do consistently that makes a difference.

RA, don't stress too much about diet on vacation.  I usually assume I'll be a bit heavier when I come back. Make the best choices you can, enjoy yourself, and burn plenty of calories having fun.

MM a pound a week is totally doable!

Holy moly my trainer just kicked my ass!!  Woooo!

I seriously love working out with him.  There are 4 of us who do 2 group sessions each week, and it rocks.  This is the most consistent I've ever been with strength training.  And it's FREE!!!!

What? How'd you work that deal?

A co-w told me she got insurance to cover it by getting a note from her dr. I'm wondering if that might work for me.

I loved working with a trainer but sure as hell can't afford one now. I think I did 10 sessions plus he gave me a free one once a week too.

I do love getting my butt kicked at the gym, even though I gripe about it while I'm there. It's nice to know I can do it.

I had the junior burger and an order of fries at lunch with my mom. I was totally bummed about not having a soda with my burger, because, really, a burger, soda, and fries is pretty much the perfect meal for me (unless the place has hard cider, which this place doesn't), and then I looked at that half of the menu I never acknowledge, because that's where they list the milkshakes, and I realized - THEY HAVE LEMONADE!!!!

So I got a lemonade instead, and it was freakin' awesome. Like, totally, utterly, completely delicious - it was PERFECT with the food.

RA, I've wondered how I'll handle things like vacation and maintenance. The second is way, way, WAY down the road for me, but vacation is coming up at the end of July, and even sooner, my in-laws are coming at the end of March, and we either eat out every single night they're here, or we bring in takeaway. Neither one is a terribly good option for someone trying to lose weight. I've decided to combat it as best as possible by getting as much exercise as I can while they're here and choosing as best as I can off the menus. *shrug* There's not much else I can do.

The vacation thing is more about... I'm not planning to stick to my diet, particularly. I'm not planning to go nuts... but not really planning to watch it. I've been a very good girl for 12 weeks, and would like to take a break. I don't want to stress about going off plan, you know? I just feel like I'll stress about it either way. Booo. But, then, hopefully I can be a little less obsessive about it because I won't be under a deadline.

BUT this is a dangerous time of year for me. I have my vacation, get home at 1pm sat night, then fly out for a business meeting on tuesday morning. I will be travelling through friday. Then home for a couple of weeks, then to NY for another biz trip. Traveling is at least 50% of the reason I'm a chub.

So, in other news- karma turned around and bit me. Out to lunch with cw's today (have someone visiting) and had tomato soup and a greek salad. No bread, or anything like that. Get back from lunch and suddenly I DO want a croissant. So, I give into the craving and have half of one (they are quite large). I now feel like total crap. I wish I could un-eat it!
