No, everything is great *except* my triglycerides. They're on the high side. Not "Oh my God you're going to spontaneously combust" high, but higher than they should be. Over the "normal" range. I need this to be my wake-up call, but I'm totally scared that nothing will induce me to get my lazy ass out of bed so I can finally get on the right track. And DH's response was, "We'll keep cooking at home, no big deal."

 :sigh:
you'll get there! i wish we lived close by so you could bring the kid over and we could let them play while we worked out! LOL

oh and on another note, i started today drinking dried daikon tea. It is a chinese medicine remedy for weight loss. it is nasty ass stuff (imo) and is stinking up my office, but seriously now, i am DESPERATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

and one last thing... i weighed myself after my run and i was at a better weight that this morning (and that was after breakfast, 2 cups broccoli, 2 apples and about 35 oz water! LOL!) I am hoping all my bitching and moaning gets the scale to budge :D

The WW Simply Filling plan is a good one, but the trick is to stop eating when you feel full, not stuffed. I never quite managed that, so I count points. :) And yes, fruits and veggies have calories, but, as a meetings leader once said, "Y'all, no one is in this room because you ate too many carrots."

LMAO! I'd never be able to eat that many carrots. The texture gets to me after a few.

not me! especially lightly steamed. I went to my old nutritionist once and he was like, omg! my hands and feet were ORANGE! And sadly enough, that was not the first or the last time.......

I don't mind them steamed, but raw.... *shudder* I can only have a few. I developed a texture aversion to them when I was pregnant and ever since...

I am the worst at eating veggies.... I *want* to like them, and generally I can handle a few...but I am not very good at prepping them for dinner.  Salad is the most likely way for me to get veggies.  I did put some spinach into a smoothie this morning to try it out.  I was surprised that I couldn't taste it.  It is good for the kids too, because I don't want my veggie issues to influence them.

So, I managed to FINALLY get my run done.  4.4 miles at a quicker pace than usual.  Push ups are done with abs yet to do.  Wouldn't ya know it, right as I got on the treadmill I started my period.  Perfect timing! Grr....but I ran anyway.  I guess that explains my chocolate urges lately.

Mini - I have found the push ups make a great difference in a relatively short amount of time.  I don't have much muscle compared to the average person but for me the difference has been huge.  I can throw things better/farther too.  :D

Deb - at least the rest of the blood work was good, right?  Would you rather change your eating/exercising habits or end up taking medication that may have bad side effects??

Geez Meri,
I think you are obsessing by weighing more then once a day.
Eat more rice! A quarter cup? Who eats a quarter cup? No wonder you are starving, you have nothing filling in there!
And yes, fruits and veggies have calories, but I think I wouldn't worry about spinach, and peppers and even the broccoli. Anything that isn't high sugar or starch.
Give yourself a break, don't count those kinds of veggies. And add more grains.

Try it for a week. You have your whole life one week isn't going to make a difference.

i generally weigh only once or twice a week, i was naked and in the bathroom, so i hopped on while the shower warmed up :D

But in general, my diet, which is vegan, includes a lot of whole grains, so basically the big change i have made is eating much less whole grains. i had 1/4 cup because i had 1/2 serving of the food. if i add more grains, i will gain weight. i just cannot figure out the magic combination for me. if i did not log and pay mind to my calories, i can easily get to 1800 calories mostly in fruits and vegetables.

Bolloxd, believe me, I'm grateful that everything else on my tests looked great. VERY grateful. And I can likely get that number back down into the normal range, but I *have* to lose the weight to do it. Problem is, when the alarm goes off, I don't give a rat's ass about my triglyceride levels. I just want to go back to sleeeeeeep.

I can understand how frustrating this is. And plus you run! And these people at my meetings are like oh I lost 5 pounds this week! But I guess they were eating so much crap their having almost a cleanse.

yes when i went to WW with my former roommate in grad school, WW was SOOOOOOO drastically different that she dropped weight fast and i lost very very very slowly.

ugh, so DH is online and is like "I think you have hypothyroidism" i am like, dude, i have been tested a million times, i do not think so. I was tested when DD was 2 months old because i was not losing the pregnancy weight fast enough, imo. And of course it is always fine.

I had delicious polenta lasagna for dinner with my spinach salad that i never got around to eating for lunch. now is the hard part- avoiding dessert...... and avoiding the crust of DD's crusty delicious bread. http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2007/02/polenta-lasagna-with-portabellas-and.html i made mine with homemade polenta, in a lasagna dish, and lots of extra mushrooms and spinach instead of kale. it is really yummy.

Meri- what about pcos or something like that? Insulin resisance? I'm sure you've explored all of that kind of stuff...

So, I was at costco tonight and they had a cute dress and some slacks for good prices ($15 each). I got them all in a 6, hoping they'd fit, and they do! I was between a 8/10 when I started (8's too tight, 10's a bit loose). I tried on a bunch of my suits tonight too. All of them are a bit loose. Which is weird. I know I was lighter than I am now when I purchased them.

So, if I end up stuck at a size 6, I can live with that. I'd really prefer to be a 2 or 4 though. We'll see.

I lose weight super slowly, too.

I tried for (most) of February and lost 3 pounds.

I'm almost wearing the size I'd like to wear. I can fit into the super sized vanity versions now!

:D I can almost fit into my favorite pair of slacks. I can zip 'em, but it sure isn't pretty!

89 days to June 1 - Scale hasn't moved since yesterday, but no biggie.  I'm starving today, which usually means the scale will twitch down tomorrow.

My lesson for the day is we can't compare our experience.  We lose weight at different rates.  We have different "normal" weights.  We fit into different clothing sizes at the same weight.  I need to stop looking at other women and thinking I should be like that.

I saw a woman a few days ago wearing black skinny jeans tucked into boots.  I thought "I will never be that woman.  My thighs will never be thin enough for skinny jeans."  And for a moment that made me sad.  But then I thought, "I have my own style.  She probably has her own body shape issues - that sweater is probably covering for her tummy/waist issues.  She might look at me and envy my waist."

Have a great day everyone!

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

She's an awful, awful human being.

I tend to trust Mini on these issues
Mini is so smart!

I do not think i have PCOS, i have no symptoms of it and had no problem getting pregnant on the first cycle we tried. I will give it a few more weeks and maybe talk to the dr. i am just hoping that it will catch up and i will see a loss on the scale.

good job on the pants!

yes, the polenta lasagna was really good, i made it last week and this week.

Restaurant night last night went well!  The flatbread was amazing, I skipped the wine, and nibbled a bit on some apps without losing control.

I didn't feel deprived, got a chance to socialize, and didn't cross into the "screw it, I'm eating everything in sight!" trap.

Thanks all!

Mini, I'm in for The 90 Day as well!

Meri, just another random thought - are you sure you're eating enough to fuel your training?

I'm down a bit from yesterday, but also had another ass-kicking at the gym last night. I fully expect the number on the scale to be ugly tomorrow morning for my official weigh-in. At the same time, I know there is no possible way that I gained 4 pounds literally overnight, and that my body is clinging to every drop of water it can while my muscles recover from the exercise. Therefore, I expect that in a couple of weeks, I'll drop like 7 pounds and then stall out.  :eyeroll:

While I have a LOT to lose, my initial goal is 20 pounds. I want to start trying for a second kid sooner rather than later, but want to lose 20 first. If I can do that in 90 days, great. If not, I'd really like to lose that by our vacation in July.
