My bl contest ends Monday.. I'm down 11 lbs and hoping to take a few more off between now and Monday but we shall see..

I'm being proactive with my weekend, my son is coming home for break Friday night and usually he has 3 places he likes to go.. burger place (with fries) pizza place and sushi... I do not want to go out this weekend before my Monday weigh in so I got potstickers at TJ's, he loves those and TJ's pizza dough and fixings for pizza so he can make that.. between that and reasonable healthy food he should be satisfied through the weekend.. I think I am taking Tues and Weds off with him so I will eat what I want those days and we can do burgers and sushi.. then Thur and Fri he's going off with his friends.. so food won't be an issue for those days.

Wow! 11lbs is fantastic! Especiallywhen you consider how much muscle you've been building over the same time period. Fantastic work!

thanks Meri- I'll have to give that a try.

Good job, MoS! and good plan of attack on the weekend :)

can i just comment that since the beginning of the year, I have lost 3-4 lbs. That is it. I am really getting annoyed. I feel like i am starving all the time. if i eat one more big bowl of steamed broccoli for nothing, i will cry! if i was seeing some change, i would not care, i'd eat it happily, but to not see any change, is really frustrating and i am still many pounds above my weight from the summer.  :(thanks for letting me bitch.

So TGIFridays has skillet meals for home. Yum, and only 480 cals.

At work yesterday I was having a massive chocolate craving, so I bought a pack of Slimfast meal bars.  Yuck, yuck, yuck.

I dunno.. If all I ate for lunch was an apple and a bowl of grapes I'd be famished!  Are you sure you are eating enough?

I am eating about 1300-1400 calories a day. That was in addition to my grapes. I decided to nix my mini little baked goodness of breakfasts and go for something like tofu scramble, eliminate the minimal amount of sugar and whole wheat flour. I dunno. I am really at a loss and my weight is still up and i at like 3lbs lost since the new year, actually, the week before New year's. And I am 20lbs above where i was before i started TTC (i did gain 9 lbs before getting pregnant).

{{Meri}}  That must be so frustrating!  Is there a way you can shake things up a bit?  I find by switching up my exercise routine or incorporating new foods into my diet, I can get out of a plateau.  Our bodies crave a steady state, so doing the same thing often results in the scale not budging.

I'm starting a 90-day Get Ready for Summer Plan - who's in?  I'm not doing much different than I am now, I'm just using the 90 days a motivator to keep on track and stay away from the cracklike Cadbury mini-eggs.  Three months doesn't seem like much, and I know it will go by in a flash.    I want to be at or close to my goal weight at the end of the 90 days and/or June 1.

The scale was up a tick this morning, probably because I'm over the digestive problems I was having earlier this week.  Sleet kept me from biking to work  :(, but after this mild and dry winter I can't really complain.

Three people have commented on my shoulders - pushups and pullups are really working!  And I haven't even transitioned to knee pushups yet - that's next week.  Still on kitchen sink pushups for another few days, and still doing lateral pulls.  I'm not nearly ready to transition to Aussie pullups yet.  But I'm really impressed with how these two fairly simple exercises have made a difference in my shoulders, back, and abs.

I'M IN, MINI!!!!!!!

And good Lord, I should have stayed away from the scale this morning. OMG. DH and I went mildly nuts last night - I didn't do horribly, but I didn't make ideal choices, either. Still, there is no.possible.way. that I gained FOUR POUNDS overnight. No way.

At the same time, I'm *incredibly* sore from my gym workout the other night. Like, everything below my boobs hurts. I'm reasonably sure that a good chunk of that weight is water that my body is clinging to. It's still incredibly discouraging.

I have GOT to start getting up in the mornings. I have to. *sigh*

That must be so incredibly frusterating Meri. I wish I had some advice to give you.

So- dinner last night was amazing. It's this itty bitty little place (8 seats). She was sold out of the thing I wanted to order so she made me something not on the menu. It was moong dal with coconut curry and potatoes and spicy! Incredibly luscious. Served with rice and roasted veggies. Normally, I haven't been taking leftovers home but I just couldn't leave this there. So, I'm looking forward to round two at lunch. I did have a little custard tart after dinner. Also amazing. The tough part will not be calling for takeout once a week or so.  :o

Enjoying my i-diet hot cereal for breakfast. Ok, not really. But, I'm out of milk for the cold cereal option. It's ok, not something I'd choose- but ok. Meri, you tried using oat bran once, right? Did that help with statiety? The wheat bran does, but the texture is not great.

I didn't get on the scale today.

Debba- could it be hormonal at all? You didn't gain 4lbs overnight, you're right- it's water.

It could be hormonal, but I don't think so. I'm seriously so sore from my workout that coughing hurts my abs and it hurts to walk. He kicked my ever-loving ass on Tuesday night. I need that kind of ass-kicking, though, so I'll just have to hang tight until my body figures it out. It's just frustrating and disheartening to see that number on the scale.

In the meantime, more DFW!

Meri, I am also losing verrrry slowly however I am not at all hungry. I think if I ate less I would lose but would I stick with it?
I am more happy about the fact that there was a fresh pecan ring from the bakery this morning at work and I didn't even look at it. Well I looked, but didn't even think about taking a piece. OK, I thought about it fleetingly but said NO. This is huge, if I can continue the weight will come, it's not a race.

Maybe you need a different approach?
WW Simply Filling is a non point counting similar to their core.
You can have all the fruits, veggies (including potatoes, peas and corn) beans, grains, low fat protein sources and non fat dairy that you want till you feel full.
Plus two teaspoons of healthy oil a day.
Anything other then that you have to count, you get 49 points for the week for that stuff.

If i ate like that, i would get fat. That pretty much sums up my diet for the past years!

Oh, FFS. I just called and got the results from my annual and bloodwork (nevermind that I should have had them on the patient results line weeks ago, but whatever) and my damn triglycerides are borderline high. Everything else is perfect.

I HAVE TO WORK OUT.

Yes, I couldn't eat like that and lose weight.  I have gained weight eating like that.  All calories count, even fruits, veggies, and whole grains.   My fill sensor is so screwed up I would never be able to stop.

Debba, good bloodwork is good!  Were you hoping for a kick in the pants? And yes, you do have to work out because it's good for you.

No, everything is great *except* my triglycerides. They're on the high side. Not "Oh my God you're going to spontaneously combust" high, but higher than they should be. Over the "normal" range. I need this to be my wake-up call, but I'm totally scared that nothing will induce me to get my lazy ass out of bed so I can finally get on the right track. And DH's response was, "We'll keep cooking at home, no big deal."

yes, fruit and veggies (and especially whole grains!) have calories!!

i am going to be really good about logging on my Lost It! app, not in my head, and so far for the day:

tofu scramble 200 cals
raspberries, 1/2 cup 32 cal
dal korma (1/2 serving) 167 cal
brown rice 1/4 cup 55 cals
spinach 5 cups 34 calories
pepper (red bell) 1 cup 29 cals
1 carrot 25 cals
dressing- 38 calories
2 apples 189 calories
4 cups of broccoli (not all at once) 124 calories
grapes 1.5 cups 92 calories

this adds up to 984 calories for a bunch of fruits and veggies!!
