Taco lentils sound good. Do you just spice them you would meat taco filling?
Thai sounds good too.

I had steel cut oats for breakfast with a little butter and a splash of vanilla soy milk. And a banana for my lunch. I think we are having shrimp tacos for dinner.
My run was very good....felt strong.
Hank and Dewey's appt went well...I sure like their vet.

I am going to go sit in the hot tub now.   :)

Bah, I keep forgetting to try steel-cut oats in the baby crock pot. Thanks for reminding me, Mouse!

Should be garlic-lime chicken for dinner, with orzo and steamed veggies.

Basically. You cook them in the taco seasoning. I use this recipe: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Spiced-Lentil-Tacos-351390 I do like the chili in adobo mixed with the sour cream they suggest too.

Well my eating today was rather poor.  3 slices of bread, cupcakes & soup.  Oh, and some cereal just now.  The kids were all over the place today and were fighting nap time again.  Rachel just does not want to be left alone...she's been very clingy.  Same thing at bedtime too.  David is congested and coughing so he's not sleeping well either.  Therefore, short nap time meant I did my 4 miles run tonight.

So, yeah, the mixer turned up.   :heartbeat:  I whipped up some cupcakes & frosting....not healthy at all.  At one point, while David was up from his nap early, I noticed he'd gotten quite.  Turns out he'd grabbed the spatula that I used to frost the cupcakes and was licking it.  When he noticed I caught him he gave a big smile and yelled CHOCOLATE!  Later Rachel found her own 'chocolate' in her diaper and pulled it out.   :nono:

I have a massage tomorrow and I'll be so glad to get out of the house by myself.

:o Fun with twin tots, huh?

I picked up DD from camp and decided to take her shopping. Got very hungry in the process. We shared a froyo as a snack. I had a few bites- but made dd eat most of it. Then I came home and made a taco lentil wrap.

Not quite warm enough for me to be tempted by ice cream/froyo, but that looks good.  My DH eats ice cream year-round, but I don't want it when the temps are under 70.

Yesterday I had no energy.  I felt cranky and blah all day.  I felt like I had a fever, but I didn't.  I checked several times because I was convinced I must have a temperature.

I kept thinking if I ate a little something, I'd feel better.  It makes sense.  Low energy -> fuel up ->more energy.  Nope.  I tried a few dates, then some bread and cheese, then more dates and a few nuts.  Still felt blah, but also felt guilty about eating more than I planned.  Skipped my zumba workout, tried hard not to feel guilty about that.

I feel much better this morning, so I guess I just needed a day off from everything.

I went out Saturday night and drank a bunch of beers. And I finally ate the delicious cheeseburger I've been jonesing for for WEEKS. Sunday I loafed big time and ate the rest of my delicious cheeseburger plus a lot of other stuff. And Monday I went out with friends for more beers!

Fun weekend but not not my best effort on the healthy eating front. I did decent length runs on both Saturday and Monday, so I have that in my favor. But, back on track today.

My day plan was shot first rattle out of the box. I spent my morning canceling my credi card for fraudulent charges and dealing with iTunes help desk to find out how my account info got compromised
So I missed my HIIT class and didn't have time to sqeek in a run.
Now I need to refocus and not let this totally derail me.
Bah

Oh, mouse, that sucks! Good luck getting it all straightened out. That would send me for ice cream.

Mini-glad you're feeling better! I know what you mean about cold and froyo. I'm normally in the same boat but DD asked for it and I was starving (red mango doesn't serve anything but froyo and smoothies). The coldness helped me not want more than a few bites.

Bonita- yeah, story of my life/weekend lately! Here's to extra healthy mondays!

Mouse- Oh no! What a pain!  :fingers: That you get it sorted out soon!

Back down a bit this morning- 1.5lbs (of water) to go to Saturday's low number.  Running a bit late this morning so didn't have time to make my usual lunch. Grabbed some leftover curry from the freezer and a tub of yogurt for lunch. The curry is still in there because it wasn't a particularly satisfying lunch last time... so we'll see. Thinking maybe a veggie burger tonight for dinner. Starting to gain some motivation to get back into some kind of excercise... that's limited with my ankle though so... still just in the "thinking about it" stage.

scale holding steady, i guess better than gaining  :eyeroll:

Mouse-- good luck with that.

Tomorrow (or the next day) should be Badwater D Day. Ugh. I got my run in, ate my lovely salad and am stocked up with fruit for the rest of the day.
Fionn mac Cumhail :Meri will rise from the casket and beat you...and then run one last Badwater before burying herself.

Ugh that sucks Mouse.  I hope it gets resolved quickly!  I've been trying to channel any stressing things like that into a hard run.  It takes the edge off a bit, hopefully you can get one in too.

The nap time rebellion continues.  Luckily I'm about to leave soon for my massage and then grocery shopping (the best way to kill a massage buzz).  At least my eating habits have been good today.  Oatmeal and healthy cereal.  I'm hoping for some nice fruit & veggies to inspire me at the shop.

Thanks for the reminder Run Amok.  I've been participating in my weight loss program for 4 or 5 weeks now.  Lost about 13 in the first week and only a pound since, though I feel thinner and healthier every day.  I also started lifting again, following Caito's advice and following the book The New Rules of Lifting.  It is kicking my ass.

Amazing the way bodies work. The only way I could lose 13 pounds in a week would be to cut off a body part. Seriously, I didn't even lose that much after giving birth.

Good for you for sticking with it despite not seeing a lot of additional movement on the scale. It sounds like this program is really working for you! It takes a while for your body to catch up with that intial loss. I bet you are due for another big drop any day. Plus, you know, with all of the work you're putting in your building muscle at the same time. Are they taking other measurements so you can continue to see progress while the scale is lying to you?

Hey all!  I fell completely off the wagon for a week or so and am slowly climbing back on.  I've been checking the thread out but between bad behaviour and being incredibly busy I just didn't post.  I don't think I did too much damage, oddly enough, and I enjoyed my bread, chocolate and wine-infused hiatus.  So, yesterday I hit the treadmill for what turned out to be a measly two miles due to time constraints and I am back to eating healthy salads, no bread, spinach smoothies, etc.  And I will be in here regularly because the motivation factor is really helpful!  And congrats to everyone for staying the course!

Glad to hear you were able to take a break and then get right back on the wagon. I think it's healthy to take a break, as long as you can find your way back on the straight & narrow. =D
