Hmmmm, I see, at least with the cheat day. Maybe your cheats aren't satisfying you? I mean, if I were going to cheat by having ice cream, and I had a skinny cow instead of a small Ben & Jerry's, I don't know that I'd be satisfied, you know?

In the meantime, this was my latest email exchange with DH:

"Well, since we're not doing anything tonight, I might let myself have a small slice of the cake after lunch if there's any left."

"Sure, go for it - good luck!"

 :sigh: He's so clueless.

Good point. Maybe I'm not being indulgent enough.

I hear ya on the dh. It sounds like he's trying to be supportive though. DH has been staying out of my diet after I yelled at him once pretty early on for poking fun at my diet food.

My DH has really disordered eating. Lately he has been juicing (like with the juicer) and eating these meal replacement raw food drinks. Very little real food. Well, the juice is real food, but is there any fiber left???? He could easily go a whole day on 500 calories and not even get hungry. he never thinks about food, etc. It is very difficult, he has no idea what i go thru and how my mind works.

oh, and the sick kid taking an early nap before shipping her off to the neighbor's?  :sidesplit: i better hop in the shower and start getting ready for work. sigh. Which means no exercise. Whatever. Tomorrow is a new day.

Chocolate mousse does not do it for me, neither does cheesecake (although both are quite tasty). i love me some good old birthday cake :D

He's trying to be supportive, definitely. He's getting there. It would help if I could tell him how to be supportive, but I honestly don't know what I need, other than that he doesn't have to be the food police.

And I guess, for me, if I'm going to indulge/cheat/whatever, I want it to be worth my while, you know? None of this skinny cow stuff. I want the real thing.

I've pretty much told my dh that he isn't allowed to comment on what I'm eating, not eating, or should be eating, unless I solicit input. It's just too emotional for me to get feedback from him. Plus, what works for him (excercising and self control) doesn't work for me.

Does everyone have me on ignore in this thread?!?  I know I am not a big poster but I have been posting consistently in this thread since the beginning and really feel like I get little to no feedback ... Good, bad or otherwise. It is like I am invisible.

 :(

DH's problem is that he's in total denial about his size, so he doesn't see the issue with me eating seconds, or getting ice cream, or squeezing in a workout, or whatever. Every once in a blue moon, he'll kind of realize, but then he goes and has a beer.

I can't force him to get on board the exercise and eating well train, so I don't. But it means he has a hard time supporting me.

Oh, and that stupid chocolate cake wasn't all that great. It was fine, but eh.  :grr:

And Mouse, I think you're doing great! I'm just fat and out of shape, so I have nothing constructive to say about HIIT, but I'll be very curious to know what kind of results you get. :)

I don't!!!

I actually meant to respond to your post about your class but I have a short attention span and forgot. What kind of moves did they do in the class?

Aw! Thank you for saying something! Definitely not invisible and you've been doing great.

Glad to hear the HIIT class was great. I know you were nervous about whether it was a good idea. How many days a week is it? I love the feeling of being nervous about something and then coming out feeling like it was easier than you thought it would be.

I am also curious about the specifics of this class!  Spill it!  :D

I'm struggling.  My weight is at a high right now, and I can really visually see it all of a sudden.  UGH.

Mouse- i thought i told you to enjoy your class, i am sorry!!! I often feel ignored as well, tis life on a message board :D I am just jealous of your class. I wish i had time to take some classes like Crossfit, etc, but with the wee one, not really.

On the positive side, I'm enjoying my (free) session with my personal trainer every week!  New job perk, and I love it!

No doubt.  In addition to the awesome on-site gym.  And a boss who lets me work my schedule around working out!

I'd give anything for an onsite gym. I keep hoping that when we start to take over the mall next door, they'll put one in, but I'm not holding my breath.

Mouse, I am the queen of ignored so move it over sistah!

My bummer of the week is just when I was starting to run longer I went and did a race and now my knees are all banged up.
Oh well, I can still walk,do elliptical and when it gets warmer bike.I know people who can't do any of those! I knew there was a reason I was running so slow, but in the heat of the moment I forgot and started picking off people :D

hally-- heal up fast!

There is a gym behind my office. when we renegotiate the lease next year i am pushing for gym memberships, because i know another tenant got that last year! The gym kinda sucks and is overpriced, or i would consider it.

I'm hoping to get back to running tomorrow. The sinus infection is now under control. I'm still a bit congested, but not so badly that I think running would be impossible. I'll back up a few days in my training and see what happens.
