I'm just hoping to be close to the same weight on Friday that I was on October 12th. It'll keep me from getting yelled at by my doctor. :)

Mini, you just send the biscuits and gravy my way, 'mmmmkay?

Mini, are you totally healed up from your accident this summer? If you're hiking that much, I'm guessing the answer is yes!

been doing ok and bought a big head of cabbage to make WW 0 point soup today.

Oh.. I need to do that!  I love that soup.  I think I have it on Pinterest somewhere... Do you have the recipe pinned and if so, what is the name of the board?

I just repinned it to my "what i am making this week" board, probably the last one, scroll down, of my boards on my profile.

Just ate a bowl or it. Totally yummy. I completely altered it, but still good, added 3xs the liquid and 3xs the veggies :D

Did you both get your vacation time approved, Mini?

Yes!  The Boss's Boss finally said: you've got the time, I'll take care of it.

I'm at about 90%.  I had some pain in my ankle hiking, but it was manageable.  I still don't have full flexibility.  Lawyer is still working on extracting bucks from the insurance company.

MOS- I've made a couple of the soup receipes here- low points and decently yummy http://kitchen-parade-veggieventure.blogspot.com/2006/01/day-285-weight-watchers-zero-points.html

Glad to hear you are mostly back!

Lunch with a friend. I had a bowl of veggie soup. It wasn't really all that satisfying so I might treat it as a snack and still eat the lunch I brought in a little while. It'll be a little over on the calories (the soup is only about 100calories per serving, but there was some cheese shaved on top), but that's ok.

Mmmm, soup!  Two days post-vacation healthy eating, and it's nice to be back in my usual rut.  I'm a little hungry, but trying to fill up on DFW.  Hydration is a big problem this time of year with the heat kicking on.

12 pounds til vacation!

Is the soup filling? I'm still looking for other lunch options.

Debba, I'd say not on its own. But, my lunch is usually soup + a sandwhich and an apple and all of that together is decently filling. Have you tried eating smaller portions more frequently? That might help also.

Yeah, I do that already. I need a low-point sandwich, and that doesn't exist because of the bread. Hmph.

What kind of bread are you using?

I seem to remember that the sara lee delightful bread is pretty low points- like 1pt/slice, or something? The slices are small, but they taste like real bread.

My 300 calorie lunch usually looks like 1 cup of soup, 2 slices of bread, 1 slice of lf cheese + as many veggies as I can cram onto the sandwich. You could do a few slices of lunch meat instead though.

Whole wheat. It's 2 pts a slice, so 4 for a sandwich. Add some protein and it's pretty easy to get an 8-point sandwich without trying very hard. I can't do raw veggies on their own right now - they make me gag. :( That's why I was looking at soup.

There is a sara lee delightful whole wheat (that is usually the one I buy). If I go straight wheat, I look for the one with the least calories and then I do one slice (cause they are usually 90 calories/slice, but can be much more if you don't watch it).  It's ok for me... but I can see how a half sandwich and a cup of soup might feel meager... and really doesn't seem like enough food for a pregnant lady!

Also, by then I've had breakfast, a morning snack, and know there is another snack coming soon.

Are leftovers an option for you for lunch?

What about soup plus a couple of hardboiled eggs? Calories would be about the same, might be more filling. I don't know if you like them or not though.

Do you like tzatziki? I sometimes make a little dish of savory yorgurt to eat along with my soup instead of a sandwich. If you like tzatziki you might enjoy it. But then you just said raw veggies make you gag.  :-\

The nice thing about the zero point soup (it's only zero points for the first cup, after that it does have some point value... I think) is that you can eat as much of it as you like. So you could eat a half a sandwich and a big bowl of soup and you might feel satisfied.

I have been using the Arnold Pocket Thins - they are soft and satifying, but only 3 points and shaving that one point off helps when making a sandwich!

Oooh, thanks for the tip, cgraz!

And I really only need an extra 300 calories a day, which isn't hard to do when you're a bottomless pit. I'm just trying to make better choices and work a little more variety in to my diet. A bigger portion of the 0-point soup is a good idea, maybe with leftovers or even the sandwich or something. Leftovers are occasionally an option, assuming DH doesn't eat 3 portions at dinner.  :eyeroll:

I usually do breakfast, a Chobani cup around 10:15, lunch, another snack at about 3:15 (a Luna or another Chobani these days), and then dinner. I had been doing almonds and string cheese in the afternoon, but they started making me gag, too.  :-\

Sorry about the bread talk, Courtney.

:D

It's ok!

I'm such a mess this week!  We are moving on Saturday, and we have been traveling the past two weekends, so my food choices have been limited and crappy.  Es no bueno.

Oh, I hate stuff like that. We've had something every single weekend since Labor Day. This coming weekend is our first weekend off, and I actually have a lot to get done around the house.  :sigh:
