:bitchfight: right back at Jessica!

Meri, that's a big drop from 7%!  :fingers: next week.

We were out of oj, so I had dry cereal (bran flakes) with blue berries for breakfast. It wasn't too bad, but a little liquid would have been nice.

I have a tiny bit of pasta pesto with chicken leftover for dinner. It won't be enough for dinner, but enough that I won't feel tempted to go to DQ this evening when working late.

Wait? OJ in cereal? I have heard of people doing that but have never tried it. I usually mix my cereal with yogurt.

Anyway, been kind of just lurking, but wanted to share that I have been using my fitness pal app pretty consistently.  I really like it.  My daughter, niece and I are all friends and it's nice to be able to see their food diaries and to know that they have access to mine.  I find it motivating.

If anyone wants to become friends on there, send me a message with your user ID and I'll send you a request.

LOL, meri - I was going to say, I sure as hell hope you're at one of those crazy buffets!

Things have been okay here. Weight finally starting to drop post-period. *sigh* Vacation starts on Sunday - we're planning on being as active as humanly possible and I'm planning on making the best choices possible without feeling deprived. Plan on getting back to morning runs when we return. If I come home with no change in my weight, I'll be happy. I won't beat myself up if I gain less than 5 pounds. We'll just have to see how it goes.

Yeah, I had fake nachos at a baseball game on Saturday night, and a burger and fries on Sunday. The scale has had me paying for that sodium all week, but it was SO. GOOD. And honestly, those nachos are part of the reason I agree to go to baseball games.

I will try to remember to reply to everyone.

Tricia -

Debba - good job.  I'm sure you will be fine on vacation and it sounds like you have a good plan, expect a little gain, but hope for none.  That's what I did too!

Meri - Yay on the refi!  And the buffet.  You deserve it!!!

MM - Glad you coworker replaced your snack.  that was nice.

VP - I have a chicken pesto tortellini recipe in front of me right now that I'm  planning to try to make.  I have to get to the grocery store today for my weekly trip so it's in the plan.

And yum to  nachos!!  and popcorn.

AFM - Well, I had a terrible week.  My children both got Hand Foot and Mouth disease from their cousins starting last week through the weekend.  And I got the adult version.  It is supposed to be mild and is, i guess, but I had the fever/malaise Monday so I didn't eat much, but didn't work out either, the a sore throat most of Tuesday and yesterday and am now having just a few itchy bumps on my hands.  Very annoying.  And althought I feel better, I do not feel great yet.  Since I've had kids I've had strep, pink eye, and now this that I had never had before.  Little germ carriers!!   :d

My weight has remained about the same, so hopefully I'll get back at it and lose a few more.

OMG, I can't imagine getting HFM. So far, Reid has dodged that one, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time.  :panic:

Well, it's not fun especially since I keep whining, "but adults aren't supposed to get the symptoms".   :(

Mine are 6 and 4 and this is our first time and hopefully last and if you count me, I'm way older than 6 and it's my first time too.    :wah:

The kids weren't really too bad.  My ds had spots before I knew he had it.  My dd had a fever first, then spots.  Neither had mouth issues and both have acted pretty normal.

Honestly, I'd rather Reid wait until closer to that age to get it - at least by then he might understand a little better.

LOL, fake nachos is just what I call them - they're the chips smothered in melted processed cheese that you get at the movies or ball games. Normally I'd say they're gross as hell, but for some reason, in a sports venue, they. are. delicious.

It's really hard to go wrong with that cheese from the big can when you are dipping salty, salty chips in it.  I'm not afraid to say it.  Judge me!  :D  I also love velveeta and rotel dip.  Nomnomnomnom.

I had a baked potato and (half of a) chili from Wendy's for lunch.  I smothered my potato in my home made ranch dressing.  This makes me a happy girl.

I'm probably eating too many potatoes now.  I'm not sure what to do about it, since a meal of meat only is disgusting, and I'm working on eating more non-starchy veggies.  Tonight we are having pork loin, potatoes, and a cucumber salad.  I feel like I don't get full without some carby stuff, like potatoes.  I'd eat rice, but frankly, I don't like it.  And I've discovered that beans are ok, but only in very small doses.  And I don't really like them, but they are one of those foods I feel like I *should* like/eat.

But I hafta say, since ditching gluten, I not only feel sooooooooooooooo much better (re: tummy) but I also crave protein more often.  That's not to say that I don't still crave chocolate or ice cream, because believe me, I do, but it's different than before when a carby snack was what I always reached for (granola bar, bread of some sort, etc).

That's really interesting about the carbs and the protein cravings... Hmmm. What about something like quinoa? Or bulgur?

And yeah, that cheese with the chips and a big ol' soda at a ball game? That's pretty much perfection. Especially when you don't like hot dogs OR beer. And around here "velveeta and rotel dip" is called queso. And it.is.delicious.

MoS, I know oj in cereal is weird. DH suggested it to me years and years ago because I don't like milk and cereal is such an easy and potentially healthy breakfast. And I have been doing it ever since. Usually with grape nuts, but sometimes bran flakes. Those two are pretty much the only cereals I eat.

Courtney and Debba, I have no idea what you re talking about with your 'deeeeelicious fake cheese'. That stuff is nasty! Nas.ty! Of course I eat all sorts of other fake/nasty stuff (dutch junk food is not to be described in polite company!), but I judge your fake cheese all the same! ;)

Coyzmom, oh no, that sounds terrible! I hope everybody is recovered by now!

Onawhim: :D! I'm with you. Meri, eat something unhealthy already for Pete's Sake, you're making us all feel in adequate. Oh who am I kidding, you just ran Badwater, we ARE all inadequate anyway! :D

OMG

Rico's cheese. I LOVE that stuff. So salty. Served with those round tortilla chips.

When I go to Sam's to get stuff for the shop, I always pass by those giant cans of Ricos and dream. I would never buy one unless I was feeding a giant party. But then I would probably opt for queso (velveeta/rotel.)

I definitely need to try quinoa.  It's on my list!  I'm not sure about bulgur...  I don't know if it's GF.
