I hope you get your cold/asthma under control pdq, Debba and Meri!

I have not run since Sunday. Bad bad bad. I have been very good with food though. The scale is not really moving. It's up and down, but it has not gone higher than the number I saw when I first got back from the cruise at least.

now i feel like a shitty mom, picked DD up at school and she has a fever of 101.7 :( one of my patients is a pediatric dr and i told her i sent her to school with a low fever and some tylenol and she asked me a bunch of ?s about how she was feeling/acting and said she would have sent her kid too, so that at least made me feel a little better. I just hope this is not the urinary thing coming back. And of course, it's the weekend! shit always happens on the weekend.

You're not a shitty mom!!! And yes, it always happens on the weekend, doesn't it?  >:(

I did realize something, though - the number on the doctor's scale was actually pretty good for that time of day, so yay!

I did not share the good stuff, before picking DD up i swung by Target and not only bought a bathing suit top, i bought a little sun dress that is TOTALLY out of my comfort zone of what i would ever wear, but I am gonna wear it to the desert!

Wow! I'm envious about your sundress! My linebacker shoulders prohibit me from ever wearing a cute sundress. :(

I have linebacker shoulders as well.  And thick upper arms.  blah.  But sometimes I say 'fuck it' and wear strapless stuff anyway.
I bet you look cute in a sundress Tricia and you're being too hard on yourself.  But I won't allow me to tell me that.

Meri, we definitely need to see a pic of you in your dress.  And you're not a shitty mom.  Or I am too.  btdt, and then sometimes you keep them home and wonder if you should have sent them.

I always think everyone else looks cute in them, i never go, oh she looks terrible in that awfully cute dress, but me? i look like a cow and an elephant together :D

I kept her home last week with the fever for the bladder infection and it was just like, again? she was totally fine this morning. I gave her a second bath and her temp seems to have gone down, hopefully it stays down and she feels better tomorrow. who knows, maybe she caught my cold and it is manifesting this way? And good excuse to miss a kid's bday party DD was going to tomorrow at 3pm in 100F with no AC at their house! LOL

oh dude.  she was just getting a head start on the over-heating!

This happened to Jessica last Sunday.  She woke up in the morning with a fever of 101.  It went down quickly with a bit of Advil and pretty much stayed down, but she laid around the sofa all day.  It is SHOCKING for my DD to sit still for 10 minutes; she asked to take a nap at noon.  :confused2:

Reid had that happen a few weeks ago - woke up from an early nap with a fever and wanted to go back to sleep later that afternoon - he slept for FOUR HOURS and then still went to bed at his regular time.  :e)

Totally fine the next day.

Incidentally, the cough syrup I got today is even more disgusting than usual. Good God.  :o

DD never sits still, never. She was barely moving yesterday and crying to go to the pool and play on the swingset  :eyeroll: instead i gave her a few baths :D She woke up with 99.5, so doing better! If her fever is under 103 i do not give her advil or tyl and let the fever do it's thing. I am still not going to take her to the boy;s bday party today, 3pm at 100F at a house with no AC? HELL NO!

I wouldn't take her either - just tell the parent she has a fever and you don't know if it's contagious. If you were coming to my party, I'd be sorry that she was sick, but grateful that you weren't sharing germs!!! :D

Scale was down this morning! Only half a pound, but still - down! Yay!! I'm now half a pound from a new decade, or at least one I haven't seen in a REALLY long time. I'm hoping the new inhaler starts to work its magic fairly quickly. I've only taken two doses so far.  :fingers:

Yay debba!  I hope the inhaler works, too.

I am feeling stuffed.  I snacked hard last night, had a drink (Maker's & Coke. mmmm) and this morning had a big slice of toast with scrambled eggs.  I decided to let myself slip a bit this weekend, then start back on the WLC on Monday.  But I don't feel so good eating all this food.

good job Debba. My dial scale had a very nice # this morning, digital was up 4lbs from that one. I asked DH to weigh himself on both some time today and report back!!! Being sick + practically no running + eating less works for me. I really think it is the less running as much as we would hate to admit that.

I have heard that lower mileage can mean better weight loss, because you don't have to eat as much as you would to properly fuel a long run. Which is great, because my mileage right now is nonexistent.

the other theory is that your body is more prone to go into starvation mode because of a higher demand for calories needed to  burn. I dunno, but I know the more i exercise, the harder it is to lose weight. I am going to make the most of my taper :D

Luckily, I have no desire to ever do a marathon, much less anything bigger than that.

yep, i was naive and thought a  marathon was a good way to lose those last few lbs, by marathon day, i was up many pounds, it was either 7 or 9!!!! but i did fall into that "i ran 16 miles today, i can eat whatever i want" and now, i am older and wiser and know that only when i run 30 or more miles can i eat what i want :D
