I have never noticed bloating/water retention based on salt, thank goodnesss. Like Courtney, I have low BP (not too low though) so I'm just not even remotely worried about salt. And I looooooove potatoes!

I turn red and sweat, but not excessively (at least I don't think so).

Yeah, my BP is in the low range, too, so I'm not worried about salt having an effect on my health - just on the scale. I turn BRIGHT red when I work out. Like, was less than a mile into a 5K, feeling just fine, and a lady in her 70s told me we still had a long way to go and I needed to not push so hard.  :fiery: :-[

I love salt, but when I eat things high in sodium and preservatives, I retain water like nobody's business. >:(

Salting a dish at home makes no diff to me in the water retention department... but salty processed foods do.

Yup. I notice a huge difference on the scale the next day when I eat processed stuff vs. not.

I don't eat a lot of that, so maybe that's why I have never noticed it. (Insert sanctimonious angel smiley here...)

I sweat like a pig, and turn bright freakin' red when I exercise, too.

Again, we are twins :D

I did a workout yesterday...  I ran for 30 min, then did my trainer workout.  I was DRIPPING sweat, and no one else was really sweating.

I just tell myself I'm effective at cooling off.  There's really  nothing I can do about it.

Yep. I'm heading out in about 20 minutes to walk to the train station. It's about a 10-minute walk. I will be beet red and dripping by the time I get there. Blech.

You ladies have been chatty today!  Those potatoes look so yummy...going onto my to do list.  I'm lucky that I don't really sweat a lot unless I've been running/exercising for a long time and I glow rather than turn red.  I'm guessing my generally poor circulation is why I don't turn red like others....my feet are like ice blocks even in June.

VP, Mini, Mouse, glad ya'll are back in the thread and getting motivated again.
Meri, I hope your DD is better soon.

I spent most of the day in waste water training.  The only woman there.  It was informative & boring at the same time...I can't concentrate that long.  I was/am SO grateful that Lizard Mixture met me for a very last minute lunch.  We tried out a neat little 50s diner with good food and yummy strawberry milkshakes.

So, yeah, my eating hasn't been on top form today.  I am PMSing so bad and have started cramping.  Boo.  Planning to go run an upcoming 5k course in the morning with DH & a friend.

I am having a Magic Microbe patented "looking GOOD" day today.  Wearing a favorite sundress I couldn't fit into last year, with my ruinously expensive White House Black Market Jacket.  The jacket has already paid for itself, since it's my keep at the office and throw on over everything summer jacket.  W00T!

DH kindly walked to my PT's office yesterday afternoon so he could drive me home.  He knew I'd be sore and tired.   :heartbeat:  :heartbeat:  :heartbeat:  Drove in to work this morning with no problems.  W00T!

Snacked on a few crackers last night, but stopped myself at somewhere between 5-10.  Not eating the whole sleeve is an amazing accomplishment.  Had an extra piece of cheese and a skinny cow chocolate peanut butter yummlicious, but that didn't put me above planned calories so I guess I did ok.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

I tend to trust Mini on these issues

Yay Mini for Patented Magic Microbe Looking Good Day! And for your DH picking you up at PT, awwwwww.

I went for my run yesterday as planned. Right now my runs aren't actual runs yet, I walk run. Yesterday I'd run to the next 1/2 mile marker, then walk for a bit, then run to the next half mile marker, repeat for 3 miles. I didn't have a watch so I couldn't time the walking bit.

When I got home, I wasn't hungry, so I just drank my (large) smoothie I had made that morning but forgotten to bring to work.

Today I had grape nuts, oj and strawberries for breakfast, and a skim frapuccino on the way in. And I couldn't remember my fitday log in yesterday so I created a new one, and now I can't seem to remember that one! I think I'm giving up on fitday.

Morning.

Mini! Looking good.  I wish I could wear summer dresses...it is too cold here in the summer.  >:(   Although so far this summer is shaping up to be nicer than the last 2 summers..so there is hope.

yesterday was a rest day. This morning I will do a run before work. (as soon as I am done posting).  Feeling good these days. I cannot get over how much better (stable) my shoulder has gotten! Woohoo.

On my days off I forget to eat sometimes until noon or even later, then DH and I will have a nice brunch and later dinner. I usually hit my calories just right, and feel better because I am able to eat a satisfying meal, rather than piece-mealing (no pun intended)  my calories into small unsatisfying mini meals on work days. Durning work I am usually hungry, and eating small amounts of food all the time.  Weird.  I know I am a boredom eater, but I am not bored at work, yet I think about food all.the.time. when I am there. Most people I know have a harder time on the weekends.
What about you all?

Have a good day everyone!

oh, and I am in the redfaced and sweaty group.   :D

Good morning, everyone! Glad to hear everyone's doing well! I slept in this morning, but had an ass-kicking workout last night, so I'm okay with it. I'll be lucky if I can raise my arms over my head later. Oof. Took the train again this morning, which I LOVE, so had a nice 10-minute stroll from the station to work. Dragged out a skort I'd bought last year and it still fits (yay!), so I wore that this morning. I need about 10 more.

I need a better breakfast idea. I think I'm going to go back to making smoothies most mornings. Right now, I'm just snarfing down a mini-bagel in the car on the way to drop off Reid, and it's getting me through to my mid-morning snack, but eh. It's not a *bad* option, I just think I can do better. I'll have to contemplate my options.

:heartbeat: smoothies. I typically make them my snack, not breakfast. I usually do 6 oz of yogurt (that's how much my little yogurt jars hold), 6 oz oj and fruit by eye balling. Today I used one whole peach. Because I don't use ice, it doesn't matter if I don't drink them right away.

Mmm Mmm good!

Slap some peanut butter on that bagel!   Add a banana and some walnuts.  And maybe even some greek yogurt.   Go ahead and have a big breakfast.   It helps prevent you from being starving by lunch, which for me is a trigger for cravings.

The portability of a peanut butter bagel is suspect in my reality. That's why I'm revisiting the smoothie idea. I was doing really well with them, but then kinda burned out. I'm ready to go back.

It's more that Reid is likely to steal it. :)
