d'oh! i totally forgot, i came here to post this great post by my hero Mayim Bialik. This is how i feel with other runners, how she does with actresses. I know i am not far or even overweight, but when i am around a bunch of petite and tiny runners, i feel like an elephant.

I think the diva cup is a better option if people are concerned about waste and such.  Th thought of using cloths as pads or *gasp*  as a homemade tampon is not for me.

I had an excellent step class today.  I am sore sore sore from yesterdays Jillian Dvd. (no more trouble zones).  My glutes are very sore today. Tonight is our turn for cook Sunday dinner, and we are having grilled pork tenderloin on a bed of spinach with heart of palm, black bean, corn and cilantro. It is pretty light over all.

Tomorrow we have our blood draw for life insurance application first thing in the am.  :nurse2:

I love Mayim Bialik. She is a smart and interesting person. And I love her on Big Bang Theory.

DD is napping on the living room floor so i cannot get anything done (dishes, cleaning, sewing, etc) as it would wake her, grrrrr. oh well.

i would have no problem with momma cloth pads, but i hate pads, i think they are icky. we did cloth diapers, so i cannot imagine it is much worse than that :D

That was a very good post by her.  I feel the same way. And I usually am attracted to male runners.. but would never pursue since I feel so big compared to even the male ones!

i know how you feel. But even though I have been married for 8 years, a handful of male runners have hit on me over the years (and one quite recently!) and i am surprised, because they are like 110lbs soaking wet :D but hey, everyone has their type. I think a lot of the races I run, atleast in the past, were very heavily male dominated fields and i was the rare girl, and young. LOL.

We spent last night out in the backyard 'camping' with the kids just as a test to see how they'd handle it.  So if we needed to come in for anything there would be no problems, etc.  1st mistake was that it was too freaking cold.  We crawled in the tent around 9:30, they squirmed and played till around 10:30 or 11:00.  We were all so uncomfortable, they both ended up laying right on top of me.  One on each side, I could not move at all.  Around 4:00 Rachel wanted to get up & play.  We slept a little longer but I woke up after their diapers leaked through their clothes and onto me.

Instead of exercising during their nap today I crashed for a bit too.  Then made food & cleaned for my parents visiting.  At least the weather today has been great.

I'd really like to run a local 5K this weekend, but DH is whining about possibly not being able to join me (even though he's not trained at all nor is he interested in getting the kids used to the stroller or anything else that would make the race enjoyable).  Some days I'd like to just pop him on the head but 99% of the time he's very easy going which makes it tough to get wound up.

I weighed in today and I made it past the 10 pounds lost mark! And that was after way too much alcohol yesterday. Hoping for an even better week this next week. 15 more weeks and 16 more pounds to reach my mini goal of being back in the 150s.

Great job MM!!

I got on the scale 2 days ago and realized I am down 3 pounds. YES!!! The weight has been creeping up the last fews weeks and I was about at my breaking point. That was a nice nudge to hopefully get me back on track.

Today was not the best day in terms of eating. Actually, it was a great day in terms of eating... but not if the plan is weightloss. There was brunch, ice cream, 3 hours beach stroll, wine tasting and cheese, dinner (pasta, more chees, beer), and pb pretzles. So. Yeah.

WTG MM and Tricia!

great job everyone! bolloxd- it has been super cold her at night. I would like to camp with her in the backyard one day. We made a tent in the living room yesterday with a big blanket, etc, like a fort, to nap in.

I went to the lake with my mom this weekend.  She is so nervous about my marathon and so she kept feeding me. She says I need to eat like crazy this week so I have enough energy.  :D

I'm trying to find a good balance of eating well and enough but not overeating.  I'm not even hungry this morning because I ate so much yesterday.

Awesome job, MM and Tricia! And Bolloxd, you're a better woman than I am. The thought of sleeping in a tent with Reid....  :nono: No way in hell.

I was a giant slug this morning. Starting over (again) tomorrow.

MM that is excellent!
Meri - woohoo!
caito - that is sweet.
Debba - do what you can and try not to beat yourself up.

Yeah, I think if we had a decent sleeping arrangement then camping would be better...still, I'd rather practice more while at home than in the wilderness somewhere.  It just reminds me of how much I love my bed.  I also wonder what is wrong with those people who actually enjoy camping.  :skep:

My plan for today is a run during nap time.  Also to hopefully clean the house because it is never-ending and is looking ragged.  For now I need to figure out something breakfast.

I didn't mind going to summer camp, where there was no a/c, but at least we had vaguely crappy bunk beds in a cabin as opposed to tents. I don't know that I could handle tents.

I hate camping!

1!! (Unless we're camping inside a hotel with beds and electricity and bathrooms!)

Tricia, I bet it was the run that made all the difference! Good job! :D
Meri-  :w00t:
MM- 10lbs! Nice job! It seems like you and I have pretty much the same goal, too.

And on that note... I'm struggling not to eat my lunch already. I'm eating my afternoon snack (almonds) right now.  :grr: I don't have any students until 12:30 (special program going on today), so I could  theoretically eat anytime. I skipped doing my DVD this morning (just couldn't motivate myself out of bed!) so it's not post-workout hunger or anything... Argh. I need to get back to it, esp since my IT band is giving me trouble again. It was better after ART and last weekend I ran a 5k with no problems. I didn't run at all last week and now it started to hurt after 1 mile! I made it to 2.35 before I had to call it quits and walk the rest of the way home (2.5 mi). Next ART appt isn't until Thurs (due to school/his schedule). Should I get a foam roller? The only time I used one, it hurt a LOT and my leg ached for a couple of weeks. I'm kind of scared.

Lanarkshire, foam rollers are magic.  If you have IT band problems, you definitely should get one.  They do hurt at first, but they really help in the long run.  I also found that I had more troubles with my IT band when I wasn't consistent with my training.  I would definitely have had more problems taking a week off than if I'd run two or three times during the week. Good luck, I hope you get it figured out soon!

I'm on Day #6 after having my tonsils out.  I haven't been able to eat much, mainly popsicles and a little bit of mashed potatoes.  I've lost 5# so far.  The weather is perfect and I wish I could at least go for a walk, but no physical activity for two weeks.  After this is all over, I hope to work really hard to maintain whatever I lose. I suspect that will be very challenging!

Thanks, nadra! Interesting.. I was thinking that giving it rest would be better! I will get the foam roller this week for sure. Did/do you use it every day? Or just when it hurts? After a run? 10 minutes? 30 mins?

Glad you are feeling better and recovering!

I have *got* to look into getting my tonsils out. ;)

I know, right?? I totally wasted it on when I was 11. I was already skinny back then!  >:(
