I went out to dinner last night at a steakhouse and it was so not on plan. I did have the salmon which I thought would be low points (it wasn't) and mashed potatoes, veggies, soup, and two dinner rolls because our food took so friggin long to come. We easily waited an hour and there went even any other customers. Then my salmon was overcooked and dried out so it wasn't even worth the points. Grr. Oh well today is a new day.

This is what happened to me monday night. I had to attend an evening meeting and there was some drama surrounding it. After the meeting we ended up going to a mexican restaurant just to decompress. I planned to have water but ordered a beer. Then, even though I'd already had dinner (a big salad) I ended up eating chips and salsa and ordering a burrito. :(

I had been able to! I made the mistake of eating my own food rather than following plan on Monday. I need to get further away from bad habits before I can wing it, I think. I followed plan to a t yesterday and had a much better day.

So I was home last week for school vacation and I lost 5 lbs!

My pedometer registered more than twice as many steps than I do during work weeks.  Work is obviously harmful to my health.  I better win Powerball soon.

I think I'm going to run tonight after Reid goes to bed and do yoga tomorrow morning.

And I have no power over chips and salsa. None. N.O.N.E. They're like crack to me.

yep.

I frickin' love the ones at Chili's.  I know that is low-class chain restaurant, but I always love what I get there.  Including the damn bottomless chips & salsa! Mmmmm.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that restaurants aren't putting salt on their chips. They're lacing them with crack. They have to be.

I'm a drive-by poster too! Good for you for losing 5lbs, that is awesome! I don't think you can get your feelings hurt for a post not getting replies though. That happens in here sometimes but it doesn't mean we don't love you!

Oh, and, uh, apparently I was totally pmsing which explains why I had zero willpower on monday! (well, you know, that and the chips!)

Anyone who can resist chips and salsa is much stronger than I am.  Love them.  As a matter of fact, I had Mexican last night.  I am holding around my lowest so I can't complain, but I would like to lose more.  Not sure if I am just slacking up or if I have not been as diligent or maybe the body adjusts to the new calories?  I'm still logging my food.  I still have a little over a month before beach trip and would be happy with losing 5 more so it should be doable if I kick it back into gear.

Meri can attest to my suckiness this morning. Sorry, Meri!

*sigh* I have this feeling I'm at a point where I'm either going to get things in gear or totally backslide. The problem is, I don't know what it is that I need to do to push forward and stick with the changes I've made so far rather than letting myself slide.  :sigh:

Do not get too hard on yourself, i am finally getting into a good workout groove after 3 yrs post partum and i do not work full time. If i lived closer i would have knocked on your door  8) it will get easier after a few weeks, but those first few weeks are tough!

You have to decide what it is you truly want.   Weight loss is hard if you're not mentally/emotionally ready for it.

Be honest with  yourself.  Do you have the time/energy/desire to make the changes you need to make?  If you don't, that's okay.  Don't beat yourself up.  Work on preparing yourself to be ready to do it for real.

Caito, if I don't make these changes now, I never will. I'm at the point I've gotten to a hundred times before - the point where I backslide. I'm fucking sick of backsliding. But I genuinely have no idea what it is that pushes me that direction, instead of in the direction of maintaining the changes I've made and continuing to make more positive changes.

But whatever.

Thanks, Meri. :) I'll put my phone by the bed tonight instead of in the other room.
