I have a pedometer. Now I wanna know how many steps I've taken. Maybe I'll try it out.

My i-pod has a pedometer but it definately does not do well with running. I ran 5 miles one night and it said I had taken 817 steps.

That is a great price! I wish we could buy stuff like that but we always have to check weight limits on chairs. My man has a habit of breaking them...who knew most chairs had a 200 pound weight limit.

Ikea is not hefty bottom friendly!

On the topic of durability- I have several pieces of furniture I bought at ikea when dd was born that are still going strong/look great. I also have a dining room table I bought there close to 10 years ago. It's solid wood and stained a dark color. We have chairs that match. The table looks good still but the chairs are starting to look a little worn (mostly dings which show the raw wood underneath). We always figured we'd get "real furniture" some day when the ikea stuff broke down- but so far so good.

As far as food goes. Today is day 2 of being back on plan. Sort of. Lunch out (pho) with a friend today. Dinner out with friends wednesday. Might have dinner out for a rescue event later this week. (sigh) Had breakfast this morning and now am quite full but am about to eat my 2 eggs as a morning snack anyway. If I can go into lunch feeling somewhat full I'm more likely to follow my plan (veggies, tofu, broth, only and maybe just a few noodles).

i think if you buy the higher end stuff at Ikea it is more durable. When i opened my own practice i bought this lovely bench at ikea that was a SOB to put together. My friend and i wrestled terribly with it. anywho, at my open house, one of my dear patients came, she probably weighs around 350-450 lbs and sat on it and i held my breath :D it is still going strong all these years later and many big tushies later. this set would probably be big bottom friendly, but i am not a good judge of that stuff.

I can't comment on their big-bottom suitability (although I'm sure our chairs have been sat upon by people over 200lbs) but in general, I've been pretty pleased with IKEA's durability.

Most chairs have but I assure you that you don't realize they have a weight limit until it breaks. We have had (in the last year) 1 broken camping chair (mine  >:(), 2 broken office chairs, and a broken antique dining chair (someone thought he could stand on that one  >:(). None of these were ikea, by the way, but I now check weight limits on them and almost none of them go above 200-250. As an aside, neither do most ladders, except of course the really expensive ones.

Holy shit, the scale was awful this morning. AWFUL. There's no possible way I ate that much. NO way. Not in 2 days (Sat and Sun).  :panic:

I'm doing okay today. Gym tonight. Run tomorrow. Still incredibly stuffed up from the allergies, but I no longer feel like I got run over, so that's an improvement.

Mini, be careful!! I was on crutches for a few days in college when I sprained my ankle. I've never had better-looking biceps. :)

Meri, I'll have to look at IKEA - I like a lot of their stuff. We didn't get Reid's crib there, but the shelving, dresser, and changing table in his room are IKEA, as are quite a few other things in our house. I'm always looking for ways to improve the backyard!

I had a set of ikea chairs and a table and I moved them out to NS and then to BC and every move I took them apart and then put them back together.  The last move I put them together but did not use them right away. Then I invited people over for thanksgiving and when we sat down to dinner the table with the turkey on it and the chairs collapsed  :hah:  I find ikea stuff to be generally pretty sturdy though.  I love ikea!

Our IKEA coffee table looks pretty "college dorm" but, at the same time, it's kind of nice because I don't care if Reid accidentally draws on it or climbs on it or we spill food or drinks. I'll clean them up, of course, but if something stained I wouldn't be heartbroken.

Oh, and Lanarkshire, I'm not sure how that recipe would work with greek yogurt rather than the mayo, but I'll be curious to hear!

So after eating too much at Easter, I am battling another epic round of mysterious abdominal pain.  I think it's from pasta.

A bag of Easter Reese's are taunting me in the breakroom right now...

Our Ikea is over an hour away, so I just flip through the catalog a lot.  :d  Our end tables are from there and have been battered constantly by the kids...they have held up but look rough now.  I never paid attention to the weight limit issue, but that would totally explain the running joke with my Dad always breaking plastic lawn chairs!  They always get the cheapest possible chairs and they always break.

We took the kids to practice run a 5K course with them in the stroller.  Oh, how crazy we are.  Within 10 minutes Rachel wanted out (and therefore David).  So we pushed a stroller, carried one kid, and the other 'ran' along with us back toward the car.  We covered about 2 miles, but just proved that they couldn't manage to stay still for the length of a 5K.  Not yet anyway.

So now I'm planning on a 5K this Saturday by myself.  I did a test on the treadmill to get an idea of time.. 30:55.  Not great, but I'll happily take it.  And that was me really pushing.  I will have to be very diligent with my eating the next few days to stay fueled up.

Bolloxd-- i had to DNF a 5K once because DD was flipping out. I also bought a fancy seat that goes on the bike in front of you, kangaroo seat it is called, the first time on the trail (we practiced at home on our street) she flipped out about 2 miles into a 6 mile bike ride. I had to push the bike while she walked and finally when we went about 1/2 mile in 45 minutes, i picked her up, strapped her in screaming and crying and pedalled as fast as i could :( never again did i try.

You will fucking hate yourself if that wedding dress doesn't fit, I'm just saying.  No Reeses are worth that.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

You cook the orzo, then rinse it and drain. While it's cooking, rinse/drain a can of black beans, a cup (or more) of thawed frozen corn, and chop up some green onions and some cherry tomatoes. Mix all that together and add the cooked orzo. Mix up 1/4 cup buttermilk, 2 tablespoons light sour cream, 2 tablespoons canola mayo, 3 tablespoons lime juice, 3 tablespoons cilantro, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper and 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper. Pour that over the orzo mixture and stir. Top it with avocado.

And actually, don't quote me on those measurements - here's the actual recipe: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/orzo-salad-with-spicy-dressing-50400000112006/

Ah, I forgot the garlic. That's why I said not to quote me. :)
