Sabotage!  My boss brought in biscotti from the North End.  I resisted.  My DH brought home a huge package of Oreos - much easier to resist.  But why are these getting waved in my face?   >:(

Down a pound from yesterday, but still not back to where I was Friday.

Meri, I feel your pain.  It truly sucks to be getting tons of exercise and eating minimally and see numbers rise on the scale.   :fiery:

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

Scale is still inching down from last week's water retention extravaganza. Whew. Gym tonight. Finally figured out why I slept through my alarm the past few days - Reid got to my watch and managed to turn the damn thing off. That makes me feel better - at least I'm not *that* exhausted or getting sick or something - and more pissed at the same time. I could have been getting up! Oh well. Now I know, the alarm is turned back on, and I'll double check before bed tonight.

Doing okay on food. God Love Him, DH cut up a bunch of veggies for me to snack on this afternoon while he was making our lunches last night. I was going to do it, but my headache came back full force, so I went to sleep early.

And meri, yeah, there's a massage school upstairs in our building - I just can't figure out when they let students do the massages! Can't find a schedule!

I am guilty as well but I think it really is best to weigh in once a week.

It is not weird at all to be up and down. Lots of reasons. You just make yourself crazy weighing daily, or more then once a day.

You can argue all you want with why you do it, doesn't make it right.

Meh. I don't obsess about it all day. I am a numbers person. I like to see trends, etc. If I just saw the same # on the scale every saturday I would be going nuts! Since I weigh every day I can see where it jumps and then see it creep back down. But, I understand what you're saying.

I calculated my bmr yestrday as 1440. So, if I'm eating 1200 calories and not excorsizing that puts me at just a 200 calorie def. I thought about walking last night but the wind was crazy and it was like 35. Supposed to be in the 40's today. Maybe I'll walk while dd is at tennis.

I weigh every day just to keep an eye on things, so I'm not surprised come Saturday morning, which is my official weigh-in day.

I think your bmr is calories burned just sitting around doing nothing, isn't it? You probably burn a few calories during the day at work and stuff.

Well, my running has been erratic the last few weeks due to my surgery that was done last Friday.  I've been in bed ever since.  I just signed up for Weight Watchers to help me get back on track after this mess of a month.  I can start running again next week I hope.  Anyone else doing Weight Watchers?

I'm doing WW, Miss, as are Courtney, Magic Microbe, and Hally. Maybe some others?

I just started back yesterday.  I had lost 40 lbs using WW a few years ago, but 10 lbs found their way back.  I do go to the meetings, I find I do better when I need to face their scale vs. my own.

Today I am hungry, probably just bored more than anything.  The kids will be home soon and the afternoon routine will keep me busy until dinner.  I am working my way through C25K, week 7 day 1 tonight.

You all are so inspiring!

Yep, most of the things I've seen then have you take your BMR x something like 1.2 or 1.4, or 1.6 depending on your general activitly level thru the day (not counting exercise).

The RD I saw a couple years ago advised not going below your BMR on a regular basis, because that was not good for your body long term.

So glad to hear this.  I went over my daily points today and dipped into my extra weekly points.  It is only DAY 1 for me.  Am I a failure?

Nope! I think it's actually not a bad place to be. WW was very useful for me to be able to see where I was "wasting" points. If you hoard your points then you end up starving and binge. If you eat normally you can see where you're spending too many points and cut back on unnecessaries. At least, that's how it worked for me.

For dinner tonight I made a pretty big plate of pasta with sauteed onion, brussels sprouts, and chicken.  I finished it 45 minutes ago, and I'm still STARVING!  WTF?

Not at all!!! When I first started WW, way, way, way back in the day, someone suggested that you eat as you normally would in the first week, and track the points. That gives you a sense of where you're truly starting and where you're going to need to make changes. I still have areas where I can tweak things a bit, but I'm pretty happy with my food, at least.

I mean, if you used up every last one of your weekly points today, then maybe there's an issue, but you get the points for a reason. Use 'em!

And nadra, I got nothin', but I've had that happen to me before, too. Did you exercise heavily today? Or even yesterday?

I am most definitely NOT pregnant!   :sidesplit:

I haven't exercised particularly hard this week.  I didn't have time to eat breakfast today, but I ate what I brought for breakfast with my lunch so that shouldn't be it.  Hm, I didn't really have much for dinner last night.  Maybe that's it, could be a cumulative effect perhaps!

Sounds like a cumulative effect type of thing.

Or you're pregnant. :D

nadra it could be just a hormonal thing in general.  I end up starving right before my period and need more food.
MOS - nice work throughout the BL challenge!  Enjoy your relaxed eating days.
debba - that is funny.  It's amazing at some of the odd things kids will get in to trying to derail our momentum.

So, I finally got running again.  4.3 miles and my push ups....the kids were up early from their nap before I could do more though.  Luckily they are getting better at nap time, but bed time is still rough.  It seems to be getting ever so slightly better though.   :fingers:

I made some whole wheat/wheat germ pancakes this morning that were really tasty.  Definitely will be eating them more often.  Today I also roasted a chicken, made stock, chicken salad, froze some shredded chicken, baked a loaf of wholewheat honey bread and froze 2 more loaves.  I'm trying to stock up my freezer again.  I've got several other meals to be put together and frozen too.
