You should see how many points Antag gets a day. He can eat for lunch what I am allowed for an entire day.  >:( He had a 22 point lunch yesterday...I think I hate him.

I know, it sucks.  My DH does it with me when he wants to lose a few.  He gets a ton more points than I do, and I weigh more than he does.   >:(

He joined with me last weekend at the meeting. It doesn't seem to be different except they get a ton of points ( >:(). I know from past meeting attendance that men lose weight quicker also.

I think the WW for men is really just marketing.

That's what I suspected, but was curious. I do online, so DH would, too. He was really successful with it in the past. I guess it makes sense that they get more points, but DH would probably be like, "Beer points! WOOT!"

Well I did great today!  I still have 16 points left for dinner.  That means I will be drinking a glass of wine.

That's great that you had a good day.  I liked weight watchers and lost a lot of weight when I did it on line.  I just felt like some of the stuff they talked about either in the meetings and forums were how to manipulate your points to have stuff that was not necessarily so good for you.  And the weight watchers desserts and meals etc, that have additives and left me wanting more.  I know it works and I know it's a great program, I just wish it steered people more to "real" food.  I think the newer points plus does more than it did years ago... but I'm trying to get to a more real, less processed way of eating.

MoS, the changes they made with WW do a pretty good job (I think) of steering people that direction. Of course, I'm only doing online these days, so I don't know what's being said in meetings. But yeah, I'm more likely to reach for fruit and veggies now than I was when an apple was going to use up some of my points.

So wednesday is Panera day at DD's school, holy cow! There was a huge box of loaves of bread, one of bagels, one of pastries, a basket of sliced bread loaves and a bag of packaged pastries.  :panic: i took home a loaf of bread and gave half to the neighbor and sliced and froze the other half and only ate a small teeny sliver, plain, of the bread. DD and the neighbor girl had shortbread cookies and coffee cake. I did not even take a taste. I should get a medal :D

MOS, they are totally not pushing that crap now. It's more hungry? Eat a piece of fruit or fill your plate with 0 point veggies.
I didn't like the old one either, I am loving this version.

We brought lunch in from our local gourmet deli today. I was in charge of lunch and ordered "make your own" sandwich trays. For the first time ever no one complained! I was fairly good at lunch. 1 slice of bread, 1 slice of cheese, lots of veggies- no mayo (yuck!), no dessert, a teensy bit of dressing. But then I made myself another tiny sandwhich in the afternoon and had a few pieces of chocolate.  :nono: I have a feeling I won't be hungy for dinner though so maybe it all comes out in teh wash.

Miss- yes you need to heal up!!! :D

RA- glad everyone was happy. what kind of chocolate??

I was good. I dumped DD's leftover dinner and only ate 2 french fry letters, she left like 6 of them. Now i want dessert. I may just blend up a frozen banana or something.

Miss! It's OKAY to dip into your weekly points!!!! And yes, part of your hunger is likely because you're healing - that takes energy! But hell, I'm dipping into my weekly points tonight because dinner is more than I figured (hadn't run the numbers) and I'd also really like a glass of wine. And that? IS OKAY.

They're not there to make you feel guilty - they're there for you to eat! So use 'em!

My mom complained about the same thing when she and my dad did WW together.  Pissed her right off, because he used to complain that all of those points were just too much food for him!

Thanks, I needed that.  It doesn't help that I'm also extremely PMS!

Awww, you're welcome. PMS and surgery recovery? Blech. I'm so sorry. I'd be 3 pints (of ice cream) to the wind by now.

I have a question for those of you who count calories using livestrong or myfitnesspal or whatever.  How do you count a salad or big bowl of veggies?  With WW they are 0 points, so I only have to figure the points for dressing. But with calories, it seems like a pain to measure 1/2 cup of cucumbers, peppers etc.  I am keeping track of calories in addition to WW to see how they compare.

TBH I kind of fudge on the veggies. I just eyeball it. There are so few calories it's not really worth counting. I am careful to measure anything other than non-starchy veggies though.

I am super dorky and I usually weigh them.  I just put the bowl on top of my food scale and zero it out in between adding veggies.  This works for me because Livestrong lets you enter stuff in grams, I find it easier to weigh than to just stick to 1/2 or 1 cup or whatever.  Now, I only cook for myself and I think it would be trickier if I were cooking for a family and then serving myself out of a serving bowl.

Like RA says though, you can probably just eyeball it and call it good because there aren't really enough calories in veggies to make all that much of a difference.

i estimate in cups-- like 4 cups spinach, etc, then add in the components, 1 carrot, 1 cup pepper, etc.
