484 miles for me in 2025. 3 miles today for my inaugural 2026 run. I’ll be off for a few days to recover as they will be plucking my new tumor out of my bladder tomorrow. In and out same day surgery though with no external cutting. Be interesting to see how many days before I can run again.  Hopefully less than a week.

Happy New Year Fast Eddie and everyone here!

4000 km of running for me, and a race year that went well, with two world masters age group podium finishes (xc and marathon) and four more at USA championships. Stayed healthy through the year and still enjoy the process.

Last run of 2025. A cold 12.5K with a lot of icy patches still out on the roads.


Total mileage for the year at 3,364 Km.

Oh boo.  It got really good reviews on their site.

I did get my last TM at Canadian Tire and it was OK.  It still worked when I (regrettably) gave it away.

I've been storm stayed since Sunday.  Roads closed, whiteouts, can't even drive to the gym.  I sure could use a run.  It would be far too dangerous on the road with whiteouts.

Rarely do I wish I lived in the city, but times like this I do.

Winter double.

AM 6.3 miles in indoor soccer facility, astroturf surface. Did a fartlek with 8 min tempo, 6:40, 5X 1:10 at 6:25 with 1 min recovery, 4 min tempo at 6:40, 2X 2:15 at 6:20 pace.
PM 15 km xc ski (skate) over hilly course at a local park.

Run commute day. 7K in morning and 7K back home in the evening. Some cautious walking a few time on icy park paths and curb snowbank hopping.

Don't know anything about them. I took a look at their website. Their budget Horizon brand I don't think rates very well. I've seen that brand at Canadian Tire, which is probably not a good sign for robust fitness equipment.

My LifeFitness treadmill is 10 years old, and I bought it used, so I'm guessing it's at least 15 years old. But I don't use it much. Maybe 3-6 times a year, when the weather outside is really bad.
