Title: Protein powder
Post by: CheryG on January 19, 2025, 10:21:57 AM
Do you consume?  If so, which and why?

I put it in my oatmeal in the morning and have been using an iso whey product because I think it's the most bioavailable.  It's fine, I guess, but I'm not a fan of it having sucralose or being dairy so I've been exploring other options.  I keep coming back to it as being a practical choice.

I wish I could wrap my head around having a non dairy source of 20g of protein for breakfast.

I don't use protein powder, but there are a bunch of egg-based ones on the market if you are looking for a non-dairy solution.

I try to mix it up.  Eggs, cottage cheese, chicken, sardines, salmon, shrimp, and plain Greek yogurt are in the rotation.

I don't use it directly, but it's in a shake I consume. I'm hesitant to supplement too much because of the studies I've seen around isoleucine and longevity. I've been looking for low isoleucine sources of protein instead.
