I made some coconut macaroons for a party last night. A little overly toasted but still tasty. I need to hang up my cookie sheets for a bit I've been a baking nightmare lately. I did make a good apple cake Friday night though.

I've been given a ton of cookies baked by 2 different people so no longer feeling like I need to bake. Now to focus on Xmas eve

So far, just these coconut macaroons.

Tonight I'm making Nana cookies (which are like chocolate chip cookies with grated chocolate, oatmeal and crushed pecans), and chocolate chip cookies.

Tomorrow I'll do a chocolate cream pie with a rice crispie treat crust, blackberry/raspberry pie and apple pie.

as to the OP, I'm not baking anything, but my heart is pining for a good, homemade fruit pie.

I made swedish spice cookies, snickerdoodles, three batches of sugar cookies that I used the cookie press with, grandma cookies (no bake chocolate oatmeal, and chocolate chip because the husband was begging for them.

I always associate macaroons with Passover

Anywho, i find that coconutty things are kinda Christmassy.

I made vegan and gluten free snickerdoodles for the cookie exchange. They turned out deliciously awesome and this was after several attempts at other recipes that failed miserably. We also made a few batches of peppermint fudge. DD wants to make chocolate strawberry cupcakes for Xmas dinner. I am not sure.

Coconut macaroons are new to me and I have a great recipe. People tend to go nuts for them. The host last night was happy and she had made plenty of her own cookies

I think I'm going to try making these cranberry bars - a lighter version of the ones they have at Starbucks. The recipes on this site are usually good, so hope they turn out!

I'm also making an easy eggnog bundt cake with eggnog glaze, that is yummy. And when I'm at my sister's I'll make an apple crisp for dessert on Christmas Day, but that doesn't need to be made ahead.

Last week I went to my sister's to make rollout sugar cookies. Our recipe makes 5 dozen, and I didn't want to make and decorate them all by myself, or have that many in the house. She has three kids age 4 and under, and didn't have time to roll them all out with kids underfoot. I made the dough and rolled them out, she shuffled them in and out of the oven, and one of her friends stopped by and ended up helping the 4 year old decorate a lot of them. It was a great day.

In addition to the normal trees, bells, stars, and stockings, we also made dinosaurs and ducks.

Gingerbread cookies and peppermint chocolate pinwheels are done. Toffee bars are on the to do list for today!

yesterday I made

32 montreal style bagels
3 dozen star-shaped crackers coloured yellow with tumeric
6 dozen whole wheat poppy seed crackers

no cookies, but we made lots of candy including peppermint marshmallows for hot chocolate and orange-almond marshmallows for roasting over the fire we will (hopefully) build new year's day

Doh! My errands got away from me yesterday, so instead of baking the cranberry bars, I picked up a bunch of Italian cookies from a local bakery. I will make them eventually though! I love the ones at Starbucks, so I hope this recipe is as good, or at least nearly.

Bagels....old Sunshine magazine recipe.

"Motion-W" frosted sugar cookies (the w is the emblem on the football helmets/white frosting with red sprinkles) ....this is the traditional seasonal cookie for our family. No other cutouts.

Cherry/jam thumbprint cookies

Peanut butter blossoms with dark chocolate kisses

Cranberry and pecan bars with cream cheese frosting

Sis is baking the French bread, some oatmeal/date thumbprints, and gingersnaps.
Eta: sis is also baking raisin cinnamon rolls for her inlaws' visit. She has promised to save a couple for us.

We have a lot of Caribbean folks around here, and coconut macaroons are a traditional Christmas cookie.
