I am trying to get back on the working out wagon but somehow I hurt my back (absolutely no idea how) and it has been killing me for a week. It is making everything a little difficult.

I have never had back pain before so this is new to me.

Hi there. Popping in from vacation in California. We're in San Diego area for the next few days, then back up to LA to see friends. Hope you're all doing well!

Have a great vacation, diablita!

mm, sorry your back is bad.  Do you know what you did to strain it?

I nearly succumbed to leftover pizza last night in a fit of premenstrual craving.  I nibbled on bit of cheese and filled up on pumpkin, so I escaped grain-free.

I tried on my winter suits - the ones that haven't fit for 10+ years.  The jackets fit great, though the skirts are still too snug. They zip, but they are much too tight to wear.  By the time temps cool off enough to wear wool, I hope to be slim enough to wear them.  Inspiration!  I hope to have my winter go-to wardrobe be jeans/slacks with a suit jacket, saving the full suit for important meetings.

Shut up mini. Just because google changed it, doesn't mean in elementary school, we got it wrong.

Great job, Mini!!!

My back is tweaky, too, but right now it's only if I lean a certain way. Unfortunately, that "way" happens to be how I usually lean in to get stuff out of the fridge, which is making life fun. :eyeroll:

MM, I hope your back gets back to normal soon. Onawhim, I hope they figure out what is wrong with you soon too! I don't think heart trouble actually qualifies for the wahmbulance though, I think you are entitled to complain about it, fo sho!

I have scaled things down on the food front the tiniest little bit (which means I don't have alcohol EVERY day, ha) and I am sort of looking forward to getting my shit together again next week when things are back to normal.

This gorgeous cool fall weather makes me want to go out and run, something that hasn't happened in far too long. Oh, and seeing my mother and the shape she is in is scaring me into wanting to work out too...  :yikes:  She is not in horrible shape, but has definitely gotten a lot heavier in the past 15 years or so, especially after she stopped smoking a couple of years ago.

Lots going in this thread... my best to all of you!

I've been lurking, but the new job has kept me pretty busy.  I like the job good enough, but my hours are causing some issues with DH's work.  Hopefully we can get the scheduling worked out since we need the extra money.  I'm on my feet for between 6-8 hours each day.  It is crazy busy working in a pharmacy!!  At least the day flies by but once I get home and slow down I am beyond exhausted.

Last week we went to a Foo Fighters concert in Charlotte during the DNC.  Packed and small venue, we were very close to the band, and it was excellent.  They decided to break their record for longest concert... yay!  3.5 hours of Foo Fighters :D  It was the 1st real date DH & I have had since the kids were born and it was awesome.

My running has been pretty good lately.  On Saturday I did a local 5K in 25:35 and won 2nd in my age group.  I'm hoping to do some more focused training, so Sunday was a hiking day, Monday was 5.5 miles, and today was intervals for 4.3 miles and a trail walk with the kids this morning for 1.3 miles.

Eating has been iffy...  I do not eat during work hours other than snacking on animal crackers or something similar.  Other meals are dependent on if I've been following my meal plan goal.  The scale has been slowly creeping up so I should probably cut back on the cupcakes. :-[

Hoping to get back to posting more in here but we'll see.... my hours this week are crazy.

Glad the job's going well - and that's awesome about the 5K! Congrats!!!! DH would be incredibly jealous of you about the Foo Fighters show. :)

Thanks.

Meri, I think we are in a similar situation regarding DHs and dates.  DH is only barely comfortable with leaving them only because now they can communicate what they want....and forcibly at that!

I did a 4 mile run this morning.  Nice and brisk.  DH gets a massage today (mine is tomorrow) then I work 1-8.  I really need to make sure I eat well or will be starving later.

Yeah, so I had 3 alarms set for this morning to get me out of bed. Then Reid woke up at 12:30 when DH took the dog out - it freaked him out, he thought someone was coming in the house. So I ended up having to sleep in the recliner in his room.

I didn't get up.

So, so, so tired.

Dude! we had a rough night too. 12 midnight, she was too hot in her blanket sleeper feetie pjs she insisted on wearing  :eyeroll: and was SCREAMING for some milk which i explained we do not drink until morning as we brushed teeth. Total fit ensued. then middle of the night, maybe 2? she woke up screaming for a cookie she swore she lost in the bed. WTF? LOL! I hope to hop on the TM today, but not high hopes for anything magical :D

Give yourself a break, Debba!  You are going to be tired right now anyway, from what I understand.  Try to just maybe get up and move around today at work :)  I like to go the long way to talk to someone here, and I try to tell myself the extra steps are helping...

Well shoot. Running has been kind of a bust this week. Last night was my night to run and DD didn't get home until late because of a mix up with scheduling at school. Then I met my dad for a beer and we talked until about 11. So, tonight was kinda rough. I have tennis tonight... maybe I'll try and squeeze a run in before class?  :-\

Thanks, Courtney. I know it's true, but I've been feeling okay and I want to get into the habit sooner rather than later - because later? It's going to be hard enough to get out of bed as it is. Unfortunately, my job is insanely sedentary. Maybe I can get something done tonight.

when i was pregnant, in the first trimester, i had to force myself to just walk. i was soooo exhausted.

in other news, my period may kill me. My periods have been fierce, but they are stop and go, which is soooo annoying. I bled thru super tampons 2 days ago, almost nothing yesterday and last night, and i get to work and i am thru a couple tampons already :( wtf? this is cycle day FIVE.

Have you ever checked to see if you have fibroid tumors?  My periods were so heavy I went through a super plus in 20 minutes some times.. Because what happens is the blood pools around the tumor on top or whatever.. and then all of a sudden decides to gush out.

I wish we were, too! There's just a lot going on right now - Reid, me, I'm taking an 8-week online class right now, too, so that's taking up WAY more time than I thought it would, and DH's company is going through a merger, so he's crazy busy, too.  :panic:
