I am not a stress dieter. I'm a stress eater. I'd have gained 50 with everything you're dealing with.

I've been thinking a lot about this this week. I wonder what makes some of us stress eaters vs non-eaters.

That is an interesting thought.  For me, it tends to depend on what is stressing me out.  I normally am a stress-eater, but I specifically remember one rough break-up.  I felt emotionally empty, so it felt appropriate for my stomach to feel empty too.  Normally I try to fill the void with food, so that was different for me.

So, I just weighed myself nekid on my home scale, for the first time in a few weeks. Ironically, I am the exact weight I was when I met DH. I have lost 35 lbs.

You lost 35 pounds in a "few" weeks??????  How many weeks?

nadra, same here.  It is a good questions.

Ice Cream, I think it's been quite a few weeks since RA's ordeals began but I could be wrong?  I think she lost a friend, then moved, then her marriage separation.  I'm not sure where in there the weight loss started.  But she had done the WLC prior to all of this beginning and also lost weight during that time.

    RA.  It's been a tough summer for you.  On the bright side, in your FB pictures you look about 20.  So you look fabulous!

Oh! No! I started losing weight in December. I lost about 20lbs over a period of 4 months, then kinda stalled and took another 5lbs off over the next 4 months. The rest has come off over the past month. So, really, it's not all *that* dramatic in terms of stress weight loss. But I am thrilled to be down 35lbs from my high.  I don't know the exact numbers (except start and end) because they were on different scales, not always nekid not always at the same time of day/same conditions, etc. I think I had maybe gained a few lbs from my previous low before all this started.

Our friends just left.  They visited for a week and we loved having them here, but I am worn out from all the extra work it takes to keep a house up with house guests (esp. with a 5 year-old).  And said 5 year-old is a bit over-indulged so made it a bit tough.

Now I just want to do nothing, but my 4 year-old is not a fan of that idea.  We'll probably go out for a nature walk soon.  On the bright side, she has a sleepover tonight!  Her best friend's mom is the director of their school and she's amazing.  So she's invited J over for a sleepover and I have full confidence that J will be well behaved and will sleep b/c the mom is great at discipline and rule enforcement.

Thanks, RA.  We'll be deciding between an evening hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway or a movie.  Can't go wrong either way.

And...as our friends loaded up the car to drive away, they let their 5 year-old hop into her car seat/booster thing (I've never seen one like it before; may be from Venezuela where they moved from?)  I didn't think anything of it b/c J clips her own seat straps these days.  Except their DD didn't clip the straps and they didn't ask her to.  She was bobbing up and down as they drove away.  This may have something to do with the fact that Vzla has no laws (that I know of) about car seats and our good friend (who is marrying the mom and adopting the DD) has never been a parent until he met her recently.  But anyway, now we have to have an uncomfortable conversation with them when they return to NJ tomorrow.

Just got back from a run.  We went to Echo Reservoir which is about halfway between Evanston and Park City, and ran a couple of miles along the trail there.  It's nice and flat, and it was really muddy in some spots which was fun!  Kenyan and I are out of shape, so 25 minutes was good for us.  Then we went to Park City so he could get his favorite Cafe Rio burrito.  I like the food there, but we ALWAYS go there (Kenyan is obsessed) so I opted for a crab roll from the bakery next door.  It is probably good that we got there at the time we did, because 30 minutes earlier I would have gotten the all-you-can-eat french toast which is amazing, but way more than I need to eat after running only 2.5 miles!

Gotta build up the mileage.  I never really got back into a regular exercise schedule after I got my tonsils out at the end of April.  Now I live at 6000 feet, and it's taking me a lot longer to rebuild mileage than it ever has before.  At least Kenyan is in the same boat as me.  Unfortunately when he is in shape he is much faster than I am, so we'll see how long it lasts that we can train together.

Went for a shuffle this morning. It's going to take a while before I can actually call it a run. Okay breakfast, good lunch. No idea what we'll do for dinner. Hmmmm. Need to start thinking about that.

Kid influenced smilies make me happy.

My plans for a run turned into other activities and a nap.  We took the kids to the book store today and I noticed a new local interest book about Henry River Mill Village (Hunger Games District 12).  There were 2 pictures of my Granny in it so I had to buy it.   :)

The house is a wreck so that is the plan for tomorrow, along with a run if I can get my butt out of bed.

RA- one step at a time :)

I woke up around 4-5am with a migraine, but at 7am, it seems ok, feel fuzzy headed and a tad bit sore, but DD is screaming and yelling and if she sends it back, I am going to be pissed. I really don't want to go to the ER and get drugged up, but i cannot take another day of it. Crossing fingers it stays away.

Crossing my fingers for you, too   Do you head home today?

We're having a few families/friends over for brunch this morning.  I did some of the prep last night.  Having bagels with tuna salad (already made), egg salad, nova cream cheese (already made), edamame, red cabbage slaw w/ carrot dressing (teetime's recipe) and assorted fruit and sweets.  The weather is looking iffy; if it cooperates we'll picnic in the front yard and let them ride bikes and fly kites.  Apple orchard visit later this afternoon.
