cozymum, I'm kind of in the same boat over the last few days.  I can see that I've let a few of my bad habits sneak back in (evening snacking, more than one portion) and I'd better cut it out quickly b/c without the running, I'm going to gain again.

Oh, FFS. So I got my period yesterday and this morning when I checked my weight, I was up THREE POUNDS from yesterday morning. WTF??? GAH. There's just no POSSIBLE way I ate that much food yesterday. No. Way.

And of course, today is my WW weigh-in day, so I'm left with a dilemma - report Friday's weight (the good number) or today's weight?

I love skinny taste!!

Boy did I slip again. DH and I went out tonight and therefore ended up not cooking. Of COURSE I ordered the burger trio. Because I have no self control when I see a burger with QUESO on it. Oh damn. They were goooood.

One thing we noticed: after cooking 95% of our own meals over the last 6 weeks, boy are restaurant portions HUGE compared to what we've been eating at home. Even though it was a local place, they piled on the fries. And I ate every last one.  :nono:

Whatever. I've been walking a ton this week, and I'm happy with the progress we've made regarding cleaner cooking, more veggies, no refined flour/sugar. As long as we keep cooking in and make fewer trips eating out, we should be just fine in the long run.

Thanks! I'm done beating myself up over what I eat when I "slip." DH and I are in this together now. He fully supports our new habits and loves my cooking, so he gets excited to see what new creations I've come up with that DON'T include mashed potatoes, goopy cheesy sauces, or bread.  :preen:

So we are at the beach.  Yay!  I do however need another vacation already.  Sheesh.  The drive was horrible... kids were OK but the 50lb lap dog on me for 4 hours was a little exhausting.

Rachel face planted in the water within 2 minutes so is scared but David loves the water.  Both like the sand.  DH was a *dear* and drank an entire box of wine.  Major argument.  He crashed leaving me with kids that did not nap.  He has apologized but he should be punched.

So food has been, um, bad.  I'm desperate for a run but not sure how that is gonna happen.  I'm expecting the next few days to be better.

Meri, good luck!   Thinking of you!

Bolloxd, have an amazing time.  I'm sorry the start wasn't great but I hope the rest is.  Where exactly are you?  And for how long?

Okay, summer vacation is over.  Austerity measures began again yesterday!   It's just so hot and humid at home now that I don't even want to eat.  I had my fill of all the snacks and splurges and all I really want right now is watermelon.

Back down to my WLC start weight today. Not-great choices this weekend, coupled with my period, so really, not horrible. I'll take it. Vacation in a week - I. Cannot. Wait. Except for the whole "my family is insane" part of things.  :nono: DH and I talked about food strategy a little last night (while I was eating a burger, natch) and I think we have a decent plan. I'm more worried about Reid getting messed up and cranky and that making me and DH cranky. Oh well. I have a week to panic.

Well now, that was just shitty. One of my coworkers has been in a snit for like three weeks. She brought in kolaches today. But only for herself and the two people she likes. WTF? I'm not a huge kolache fan, but... really?

Weekend was ok. Did a 10 miler sat evening...ate dinner really late but oh well. Sunday we went out to breakfast and then I went toast concert in the afternoon. Had a hot dog, chips, a few fries and a beer but not too terrible considering.

We're at Oak Island, NC.  At least the weather has been perfect.  I'm currently having a strawberry dacquiri.  Yum.  I've been digging in sand & playing in water as exercise... funny enough, my knee is killing me and I've not been able to run yet.  Oh well.

Deb, the kids will not nap on vacation or when there is a lot going on...they were up for 16 hours straight yesterday!!  The crankiness starts around 6pm but they fight the sleep.  Definitely makes it more challenging.  For some reason they've developed runny noses since getting here.

I think we're having some nice healthy-ish pasta for dinner.  So that's promising.

Bolloxd, 16 hours? Holy Shit.  :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic:

DH and I have already decided we're likely to piss off my parents by insisting that we try as best as possible to keep Reid on his normal schedule. Yay. But getting him off-track means meltdowns at dinner, and it's not worth it. My mom will just have to get over it.

DH and signed our refi last night (3.75 % baby!) and then went out to dinner to celebrate. I had ribs, fries (and mayo, natch), green beans with corn and peppers and two glasses of wine and enjoyed every bite. Now it is back to austerity though!

So far today it's been a skim iced latte with hazelnut syrup (small amount, I make the latte myself) and I'm planning on strawberry sandwiches for lunch. Nobody here eats strawberry sandwiches, but I tell you y'all are missing out! :)

Bolloxd, I hope your vacation is more relaxing now than it started out!

MM, good work on the 10-miler!

Debba, your co-worker sucks. Not that I know what kolaches are exactly (some sort of pastry I think?) but that's just poor manners. On the other hand, kolaches are not austere, so you're better off! :)

Caito, welcome back to Austerity Land!  ;)

Blargh, I can't seem to shake the period weight. :( That's really pissing me off. And DH stayed up late last night and then woke me up when he came to bed, then Reid woke up twice... I'm SO damn tired. Need to get my ass in gear. :(

Feeling good today.   Got a very small run in this morning and had fun with the kids.  We finally got a good night's sleep and they are taking the usual nap today.  All is well.  DH is ready to go back home tomorrow night but I'm just getting into the swing of things.

Same here. But mine hasn't come yet. I'm getting the PMS munchies HARD. All the bloat and weight gain. And it's not arrived yet. Grrr. Hurry up already. I've stopped getting my hopes up over every late P. I've now reached a point where I just want to get it over with, so I can move on and stop craving carbs and KEEP losing weight!!

All I want it pizza.

BAD.

Oooooh, pizza. I have the "I'm at work late and I'm the only one here and I really, really want chocolate and my weight loss has stalled out, so why fucking bother trying, goddammit" munchies. Those are bad.

My coworker ate my afternoon snack so I was "forced" to buy a cookie.
