You know what happens when you don't plan dinner and you and DH both get home at 8pm and are super starving and want to eat NOW?

Whataburger happens.  :D  ah well. It was TOTALLY worth it. I had to fight slight feelings of guilt and inadequacy but in the end I was fine. Now to go cook and pack my breakfast and lunch for tomorrow so I won't be tempted to hit chick fi la.

Onward!

It happens.  :)  I just keep thinking of what I read on the WW site somewhere...I didn't get fat from one meal, and one meal isn't going to make me fat all over again. All the good things you're doing won't be undone by one burger.  :)

Friday weigh-in day for me...down another 3 lbs. I know the first couple of weeks you tend to see big changes, so I hope I can  just keep some momentum and I don't get frustrated if it slows down.

Next week will probably not have much of a loss, because I'll be at yearbook camp. Cafeteria food (beige, featuring corn as veggie), frozen yogurt machine (!), and wine and snacks when we're back in the dorm in the evenings. I have some strategies in mind to help keep me on track...fruit at breakfast, salad bar, and portion control with snack packs of Special K Chips (I love these) and Sun Chips. And we walk a lot to get around campus.

How is the ankle, diablita?

Sore today, debba?

I think the vacation stuff evens out, caito...doing more running and being more active is great, and a little bit of snacking feels extravagant because you are usually so disciplined. Cutting back on the booze is a great win. Can you try allowing yourself only one or two handfuls of chips and limiting it? I have a hard time in those situations too. What is it about chips and salsa?

Yeah, Whataburger happened a lot at our house for a while. :D

Great job, cgraz!!

I'm not sore yet, but I can feel it coming. Oof. I need to figure out how to tweak my lunches a little, I think. My last weigh-in meant I lost a point, so I need to adjust a few things. You wouldn't think one point would be that big of a deal, but it can be, and it's more that I'm hoping to lose more points in the future, so making small adjustments now will be easier than having to make giant changes later, you know? Hmmmmm.

Today for my lunch I made myself a salad with feta, dried cranberries, and chicken. So I'm looking forward to that and trying not to think of creamy Thai curry. Which is what I really want right now.

I've been (very slightly) PMSing for the last few days and I've been craving comfort foods.  :-[

Yeah, I've been craving comfort foods, too. I'm trying, when I think of something that's a comfort food for me, to remember the number on the scale. To get that number to flash really really big in my mind's eye and to then ask myself if I really want to fuck this up. The answer is usually no. It seems to help, a little. Doesn't mean I don't want the food, it just means I want the numbers more.

I just had a really nice lunch of charentais melon with smoked prosciutto and two small slices of bread. It was goooood. And ice tea.

Tonight we will probably have 'bistro meal': the aforementioned oven fries, thin pan fried steak and greens. It's one of my favorites.

Debba, good work on the number taking precedence over the comfort food!
Caito, you always seem to be really hard on yourself to me (but then, I have no discipline, so there is that). 10 days vacation isn't going to derail your goals if you snack a little more than normal, especially with reduced alcohol and great exercise!
Tricia, your lunch salad sounds good! though I'm more of a chevre eater than feta myself.
cgraz, 3 lbs, wow!  :bow2: I'm only holding steady this week, but I'm hoping for a small loss by Monday. We shall see.

If it's cheese, I'll eat it. There are very few I don't like, and I adore both feta and chevre. Mmmmmmmm. Cheese.

I'm running out to Old Navy at lunch to get a second pair of jeans for the trip. I think I'm going to hit Subway on the way back for lunch today. It seems to be the best option right now. Not *great,* but then we're having pasta and steamed veggies tonight for dinner, so I should be okay.

yeah.. i debated whether I should use the last of the chèvre or throw feta on top. The feta was fat free, so I opted for that because I had the fatty Whataburger last night! haha. Like that's gonna make a difference.

Does chevre = goat cheese?

Because I'll put crumbled goat cheese on nearly everything.

LOL, I like that logic! And yes, chevre is goat cheese. Mmmmmmmmm.

Subway for lunch with BBQ Baked Lays. Eh. Probably not my best, but certainly not the worst thing I could have had. If I've managed to screw up my weigh-in for tomorrow, I'll be pissed, but whatever.

Oh yeah, my absolute most favorite salad is when it has dried cranberries, crumbled goat cheese, and pecans...with this one particular balsamic dressing, Olde Cape Cod. It is the perfect flavor combination. And if I want it to be a meal, putting a little bit of thinly sliced flank steak or something on there makes it perfect.

I make that same salad with pine nuts instead of pecans and I make my own dressing out of a honey balsamic and olive oil. We had it last night but Antag pretty much hates it. :(

My not posting in the CH didn't last very long.  :d I did significantly decrease my posting though.

haha! I even started a thread today! Not that I was avoiding the CH, just that I very very very rarely ever start threads. It's already dropped to page 2.  :D

meh. i pigged out at the buffet. nothing horrible. My first plate was a lot of salad and green beans with a little bit of sushi, some mashed potatoes. My second plate was hummus and a small pita, corn, green beans, a little mashed potatoes and some cheezy broccoli. So nothing too terrible. I did have a small piece of carrot cake (like teeny) and a bit of froyo. Could have been MUCH worse. I feel like i will explode though!

Alrighty, I'm packing and leaving today for yearbook camp...will be back on Thursday. So wish me luck on the food front. It starts tonight with a faculty dinner out at one of the historic restaurants in the area, one of those places where the s's are f's on the menu and things come covered in butter or sauce. Should be interesting.

A little late with my replies, but

MM - I love your yard.  It looks great.

Meri - Go get 'em!

Debba - Good job.  Sounds like you are doing great these days.  I hope you continue to feel better so you can stay on track.

Cgraz - Good luck staying on track while you are gone.

I'm doing OK.  I lost my initial 10 pounds and don't seem to have the diligence to lost the last 10 I would like to.  I'm not gaining back, but eating a little over my allotted calories that would allow me to lose, just enough to maintain.  Oh well, maybe it will kick back in eventually.  I'm pretty consistent being the same 2 pounds lighter each morning than in the evenings when I weigh.  Is that typical?
