I get the Bob's red mill flax meal. Then throw a spoon in my cereal along with the hemp. Costco has Hemp now!

What does the flax meal taste like?

A bit nutty. I think it's why I like it in cereal, as opposed to a smoothie.

Well, I'm a bit nutty, so it's probably a fit.

I use just a little sometimes in baking, no flavor detected.

Made it through fish fry at work day yesterday without too much damage. I decide to go to spin class after work, trying to get a routine established again. It was a good class.

Meri...just go with it!   :d

My eating plan is to stay small today!

Diablita, hope you heal quickly!
Debba, holy cow!  Way to go on the loss!
MM, love the new yard.
Meri, any loss is a loss.
VP, you're a genius.  I'm gonna try your method.

I've been slack on running but with the slightly cooler weather I got in 3 miles with the dog.  I have been doing great with push ups & abs.  Food yesterday was horrible.... assuming a blueberry & peach cobbler is bad dinner.

Just found out we're having a goodbye party for my boss this afternoon. Not exactly sure what will be there, but I'm going to do my best to behave. :D Took Reid to the dentist  this morning, and honestly, if that didn't send me into an ice cream binge, nothing will. He did really well, but he was NOT happy about it. No screaming or tantruming, just silent teeth clenching, eyes shut tight, and clinging to me as much as possible. I love his dentist. Nothing fazes him.

I am up a half pound this week.

I ate pad Thai for dinner last night (well, half of it).  And was starving 2 hours later and went through a third of a bag of dried fruit.  Which was unsatisfying.  I should have just made a scrambled egg or something.

And because I didn't feel like going to the grocery store in the pouring rain last night (and it's still pouring rain), I think I am going to order in a pizza for lunch today.

And all my plans this week involve food.  Including me making homemade mac and cheese for a party Saturday (that conflicts with the hash run, but I already RSVPed for the party and I will get to hang with my cycling peeps and watch some Tour d'France coverage).
Ellen stole my joy and I want it back!

My trainer texted and said to be there at 7, to meet him at the back of the Y, and "bring water." I'll be outside in the YMCA parking lot having my ass kicked tonight, should anyone need me.  :panic:

Bolloxd, he's been fine - thanks for checking. Things are pretty much back to normal, although my antennae are definitely still up. :) And thanks, Tricia! When he says something like that, it's vaguely terrifying, because I'm going to hurt tomorrow. We've been focusing on getting me in better shape for vacation, and it's really helped.

Speaking of ass kickings...

My trainer gave us a killer upper body workout today.  The lower body part was not easy, but my upper body still feels all OMG-WTF right now.

We did 5 body parts.  Biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest, and back.  We could all pick the move we wanted to do, but we did a set of 10, short rest, another set of 10, short rest, then a set of 30.  THIRTY.   :yikes:  I did pushups using the squat rack bar, at a lower setting than I've been using (I'm getting stronger, and closer to doing real pushups!), then bicep curls, then side lateral raises for shoulders, lat pull downs, and mikeys for my triceps.  Jeebus.

Then we did abs, and we were all swearing at him by the end.  :D

Here's to good workouts! I will get mine later - yoga class tonight. And it's not the zen ohm kind of yoga. The class is called Yoga Blend and it's a few different styles blended together. A little bit of flow, a little vinyasa, and a lot of sweating. We have a great teacher, and he breaks things down really well to build up to the harder moves.

And I need it today. Went out to lunch with a friend and tried to make a good choice, but I think it was still pretty big for lunch...a panini with grilled chicken, mozzarella, and roasted red pepper. No gooey sauce or anything, and there wasn't a ton of cheese, but I realized after how much bread counts for. I did have mixed greens on the side, so good veggies. And the sandwich was grilled with just a little olive oil, so not terrible. I followed it up with a frozen coffee, skim. Again, not terrible, but it added up. It was a late lunch, so I haven't eaten anything else and might just have a yogurt or something after yoga, so it should all even out in the end, points-wise. Still, even though it will end up within points, having so much at one meal feels like a lot, compared to the smaller meals I've been having.

debba is currently getting her ass kicked   :nails:

I was super good all day but am snacking a little.  I feel a little better today, thank you everyone.  I honestly felt like I'd been in a car wreck yesterday, from the impact.  I can't even figure out how I got some of the bruises.  My right foot (the one that twisted) is pretty bad BUT the ice worked and it didn't swell much.  Just a strain, I'm sure.  So I just need to give it a few days.  And I torqued my left knee as well, so it'll appreciate the rest, too.

Okay, a few days later into one and a half weeks of summer vacation, I'm feeling less good about my eating.  I'm great until about 4 or 5pm when the snacks and drinks come out.  I've been very successful about cutting way back on booze, but I can't resist the stupid pretzels and tortilla chips.  And then dinner is never junk, but it's definitely a bigger meal than what I would make at home.  And there's more little things for dessert here.

I know that a week and half is a short period of time, but it is just feeling long right now.  I don't feel great about some of my choices to keep eating snacks but I am having trouble changing my behavior.  Maybe that's a true sign of vacation mode?  I don't think I'm going way overboard, it's just that I had been really disciplined before I got here.  Well, 3 days left.  I should really focus on the successes like cutting back on the drinking.  That's a pretty big thing for me.  And my workouts have been great though, and what I love about vacation is all the time to work out and run long and recover well.
