I actually got my butt out of bed to run this morning and did 5 milesw even though I am sore and wanted to just go back to bed. Right now the landscapers are out finishing the backyard so by tonight we will have a lovely yard with grass! Yay!!!!!

Oh and my (hopefully) final dress fitting is tonight. That sucker better fit right this time. After $500 worth of alterations I will be pissed if it doesn't fit like a damn glove. I still want to kill them for ordering it too big...
good job MM.  Bust a move until the wedding....give it your all.   Hope the fitting went well.

So I went out for a short run in b/w conference calls at lunchtime and twisted my ankle badly.  It was so silly -- I was rounding a turn to my house, looked up and saw DH at the mailbox (just home from a lunch meeting).  So happy to see him I stopped concentrating, foot went off the side of the road and WHAM.  My foot twisted badly, middle is bruised and swollen and I'm scraped and bruised all over b/c of the way I went over sideways.   :-\

Ouch.  :buttpat:  I hope it heals quick.  I did  that once on a cross country run, fell to the ground wailing thinking I had royally f'ed up my ankle. DH runs back and after a minute or so I stand up...fine. I ran the rest of the way. I hope you heal as quickly as I did!

My training session was good yesterday. I am getting ready to go run before work.  Today they are doing a fish fry at work. I made cold slaw. With vinegar not mayo. I will try and be as good as possible.
The fog is bumming me out.

The scale was looking good this morning - yay! Great workout at the gym last night. Reid woke up in the middle of the night, though. :( Wasn't too surprised, we had a huge storm roll through right around his bedtime, so I half expected it.

MM, great job on the running! Hope the fitting went well.

Diablita, hope your ankle is feeling better - ouch! I've done stuff like that before.  :nono: Take it easy for a few days.

Meri, sorry, I was thinking she went to bed earlier than that. And make a big list of stuff you need to remember for this weekend so it doesn't keep you awake!

I am happy to say that after one month of my new eating plan I am down 8 pounds.

It's not much, but I FEEL so much better.   So excited that I'm seeing progress. I hate seeing the scale go up and down, but it's nice to see a downward trend over the last few weeks. Now if I can just get my running back on track.

Tricia, that's awesome - congrats!!! I took a look at the big progress chart on WW last weekend and was shocked to realize I was down 20 lbs since the end of January.

A. I was REALLY fat at the end of January.
B. I honestly had no idea how much I'd lost.
C. I WISH IT WAS MORE DAMNED OBVIOUS!!!!

WOW!!! 20 lbs. That is amazing. It's nice to see the overall picture. Stories like yours are super inspirational! It's not gonna happen overnight, huh.  :D

For the longest time, my goals were lose x amount of weight in x amount of time, with no regards as to HOW I was going to achieve that. I would fail, then think meh. Whatever. I want fries.

This time, I only focused on controlling the food. I made THAT my goal. One meal at a time, it had to contain foods in my plan. The weight loss is not the end goal, I need to change my eating habits. Sunday I was craving a burger and fries. BAD. So we grilled up burgers and potatoes. A burger and "fries," yes, but way healthier than Five Guys. And I didn't feel gross after.

Yep, that's pretty much what I've done - I haven't gone so far as to cut out gluten or anything, but I've really focused in getting my veggies, made some swaps in other areas, and thought a lot about portion control and what the word "moderation" actually means.

We're going on vacation on the 22nd, and I'm *determined* to make good choices while we're gone, both with food and exercise. I'm not taking running shoes, because I don't know that I'd be able to run at 8500-ish feet, but we're planning on walking and hiking and being active throughout the day as much as we can. I should be okay. I think. I've seriously contemplated asking the hotel if they can put a scale in our bathroom. :D

And yeah, even with that 20 pounds gone, I still have about 60 to go. *sigh* But right now, I'm just taking it 5 at a time.

The dress fitting went ok. They still aren't done with it. It still needs to be taken in a ton more around the boobs and they need to fix the beading around the areas that they worked. The lady that was lacing it up kept saying "oh you just need to tighten the laces and it will fit right"...by the time she got done I couldn't breathe, she had given me massive back fat spillover and the boob area was still far too massive for my moderately sized ones. It should be ready to go next week. I don't know who that thing was made for but they apparently have gigantic boobs.

Our yard is finished and it looks amazing. I love, love, love looking out at grass instead of pea gravel full of dirt and weeds.

Glad the fitting went pretty well - you *definitely* want to be able to breathe! And we had our yard done in May - isn't it great to look into your yard and think, "Yay!" instead of "OMG, that's hideous"?

Hell yes!

The flagstone patio is new (there was just gravel outside our dining room sliding glass door), the retaining wall is new (replacing one that was rotten railroad ties), the planter around the lemon bush and along the house is new (we will soon get plants in that one), and the grass is new. The bank is unfinished because I didnt want to rip my veggies out. We will finish it in the fall.

That looks great!!! We still have a lot of work to do in our yard, but we'll get there. It's too hot to do anything else this summer, and we haven't decided exactly what we want yet, either.

Looks great, MM

did you look at the ESPN bodies link? there were a couple of women who weighed a decent amount, that is always nice to see.

It's amazing, isn't it?  I'm down about 8 as well, and I think I've been gluten free for about 6 weeks total now (that seems like a long time, so maybe I'm off base).  And for about two (maybe three now) of those weeks, I haven't really been keeping track of points, other than in my head, which never works.  :D

TMI ahead:  I'm still not super regular, but I don't feel bloated/gassy/etc all the time, which I did before.  Like, my stomach constantly hurt, which is clear now that it does not.

You are going to Vail, right?  I'm pretty sure they have great big sidewalks and you can rent bikes.  I always want to do that up there.

You would probably not run well at 8500 feet, since you are coming from Texas.  :D  I don't know the elevation there, but I feel the altitude, and I'm already at roughly 5280 ft!

Yeah, we'll be at Vail. We had a house in southern CO when I was a kid, and that place was at ~9000 ft. I think Vail is similar - I remember it always took a few days to get used to going up and down the stairs, so I'm planning on walking and hiking a lot, maybe doing some yoga, and not torturing myself by trying to run. :D

My parents have been there and swear that everything is really walkable, they have great paths and sidewalks, etc., so I'm really looking forward to it. Probably won't bother with bikes, just because I'm a bad cyclist on my best day, and we'd have to have Reid with us. I don't mind putting myself at risk, but I'm not going to take a chance with him!
